That people are still going to be critical. When you are fat they are critical, when you lose weight they are critical. To not allow other peoples comments to sideline you.22

Clothes are even harder to find. I can't really try anything on a the store still but by how my clothes fit that I have now I need a 28 to 30 ish X 34 and I can't find any to try... Can't taller guys be lean?8

That the dream weight I wanted so long would just be a stepping stone along the way. And that I'd have the confidence to keep going

I’ve had relatives do this to me recently, not all of them are over weight tho. I am a little bit less than 10 pounds to my goal and my goal is not even the smallest in my healthy weight range. My mother in law said several things to me, first starting out saying I look as small as I was on my wedding day(I’m not even close). Then went on to say I shouldn’t get any smaller. It comes across pretty damn insulting like I would hurt/starve myself. ...and I really don’t care to hear her comments or what she thinks of my weight/my body. None of it came across supportive, just really rude. My mom just goes on about how skinny I’ve gotten. I certainly have gotten thinner, lost 62 pounds of a 5’2.5” inch body and it’s gonna look pretty drastic. But I am NOT toothpick thin. And it just makes me uncomfortable with on the comments sometimes. Again they have more of a negative inflection.
Really what it comes down to is I AM happy. I feel great. I’m working on the vanity pounds now and starting my strength routine to start toning up, get more flexible,& feel STRONG. I’m gonna keep doing what I’m doing and ignore all the negative people who don’t have a say about my body and health.......unless they are my doctor.
I would respond with, "Thanks. I so appreciate the support. I feel great and I'm so much healthier to live a long happy life." Then, "How's your health? Anything you are working on?" People LOVE to talk about themselves and just answering as if they are acting in a supportive way will confuse and deflect

Hi I have twins who are 6'5 and lean. Online is the answer, some brands carry lengths in good slim cuts online that they do not in store. Banana Republic, GAP, Old Navy, Kohls and Levi's all do for pants. Eddie Bauer has Tall shirts and outerwear in good cuts.

Hi I have twins who are 6'5 and lean. Online is the answer, some brands carry lengths in good slim cuts online that they do not in store. Banana Republic, GAP, Old Navy, Kohls and Levi's all do for pants. Eddie Bauer has Tall shirts and outerwear in good cuts.
I've tired some but had to return them all. I'm 6'1", but I don't fit in slim fit pants, I have to get relaxed or lose fit to pull over my legs. ( I don't do the skin tight pants). I usually go to Khols but no fitting rooms open and I'm tired of buying and returning stuff, it just gets old. I also attempt to try on all pants since I've bought 2 of the same brand cut and size and they don't fit the same. If only I could wear sweats everyday lol.3 -

Ugh, I get you! How much tolerance do they allow :laugh: I've had this happen too, same brand, same item, you can even see about 0.5cm difference when you lay them one over the other.
Only I'm not really tall and lean XD2 -

Gap has a new fabric called FLEX fit, my kid with bigger legs fits these well.2 -

This is so true, especially if like me, you have a slightly malformed tailbone which was padded by fat, but now isn't anymore. I am actually considering having surgery to fix the malformation, because it has become almost unbearable to sit on anything firmer than a gymnastics-ball or very fluffy pillow.

I know its been said before, but weight loss in not linear! While I don't have access to a scale at the moment, in the last week my jeans have gone from fitting to being far too big!18

I don't know why I'm surprised, but it's no longer comfortable to wear my usual style of underwear. I'm going to have to change. Not that I can't wear thongs for a bit for fun, but I think I'm going to have to go to bikinis or briefs for everyday wear. The shape of my behind has changed, and they don't fit the way they used to. I didn't expect that at all.12

On the pants fitting post - also try out LLBean and Land's End. I have a son that wears 28-29 x 34. Good quality, free returns, quick service.2

Less amounts of pain, little things you happily notice aren't bothering you as much anymore, such as acid reflux, or joint pain like in your knees, less hard breathing climbing stairs or moving faster in general. It's the little things.16

I'm at that age (over 50) where people you haven't seen in a while ask cautiously when you've lost weight "you're not, umm, you know, umm, sick, are you?". Nah mate, just getting fit and healthy again.18

An important thing people don’t often tell you is, the steps you take to lose the weight and become fit are what you need to do to keep off the weight and remain fit. You can’t go back to our old habits or you may quickly lose all the progress you made. Once you reach your goal, don't think it's okay to go back to the unhealthy eating and snacking. You have to plan all the food you eat and stick with your program even after you achieve your goal weight.31
