As always, the holidays wreak havoc on my good habits. It’s winter, so I hike less (even after 15 years, this Florida girl is a weenie about cold weather) and the sugar and booze routine ramps up, just because 🤷🏻♀️ But now, the holidays are behind me. I’m pretty proud that I didn’t do much damage to my results, I’m still hovering around just under 155. I still lost 20 lbs last year and I feel pretty good about that. I am continuing with this challenge for another 10 lbs. I’m giving myself all year to do it because my New Years resolution self-compassion. I am not going to enact any strict guidelines or restrictions, just be as healthy as I can be by getting enough exercise, eating fresh whole foods, and handling stress less like a petulant teenager. So, here begins the 2021 Ten lbs Gone Journey! Happy New Year!

I’m discovering that this isn’t a “diet,” it’s a lifestyle. If I want to maintain a healthy weight at this age (51), I have to also be a little disciplined. I experimented over the last 2 weeks with eating whatever I want and just not eating a lot of it. Total fail! I gained 3 lbs. and felt like caca. I’m currently weaning myself off the everyday candy and cocktail habit I picked up over the holidays. The number on the scale is slowly going back down. Whew! I’m super grateful for this app and this challenge. I’ve learned so much about what works and doesn’t work for my body in the weight loss game. Looking forward to springtime and longer days so I can get back out on the trails everyday!1 -

Seem to be at a plateau but it’s probably that I’m really not watching ‘what’ I eat, just how much. And my exercise routine is suffering from my busy-ness. Trying to figure out how to fit everything into a short winter day is challenging. I’m still feeling good and my diet is pretty healthy so a few tweaks will get me back to dropping lbs, I’m sure. Thank you! I do walk. I try to hike 3 miles a day, at least 6 days a week. The weather’s been kinda cold so I didn’t get out much in January but I’m back at it. I do a little yoga, too. The scale seems to just be stuck but I’m not giving up. I’ve been eating less than 1400 calories a day and I hiked somewhere between 3-5 miles every day this week. i think it’s the carbs and sugar. I just need to reel it in. I do really well when I follow a Paleo or keto-type diet. And again, it’s harder to eat salads and green smoothies when it’s freezing outside. I may just be holding onto some blubber to keep me warm 😂 Hope you’re doing great!1
