I can say it was totally 100% not meant that way at all but whatever.. people can take things as they like. I was only stating the facts and nothing more. The part about not wearing a mask was because they were rude by disagreeing instead of saying what was incorrect in their eyes and probably don't wear a mask when they should so not sorry about that part.
I have disagreed with you in the past, but I haven't hit the button recently. I have noticed that when you get upset about this, you claim that person must not wear a mask or must not care. You've done it several times....once to me (and I wear a mask and care a lot). I don't see the connection. People can disagree....it doesn't make them (or you) a monster.
If you put yourself out there, you will get those who disagree. I have been posting a bit more and my number of disagrees has doubled lol.11 -
I've noticed that sometimes people hit the disagree button just because they don't like what was said. Don't worry about it. You'll never know who it was or what their motivation is or what specifically they disagreed with, or if you do you might not want to know who it was or what their motivation was. Especially if someone runs everything through a political partisan lens. Just let it go.4

How so? My state Gov (WA) did a pretty good job.3 -

At first I thought we both caught a cold until her doctor said we should test her for covid, it came back positive for covid pneumonia for both of us and as of yesterday she is in the hospital and I'm at home.
No one at the hospital to support her from the family, she is confused and without us. The medical team seem nice and like their doing everything they can for her.
But this is so scary things will never be the same going forward, how can you fight off a disease like this and not get it again if you survive need to work, go to the grocery store and pharmacy just the basics.
The nurse said to me after I quarantine I need to order everything because more than likely I got it in one of these places just walking by someone.
More worried about my mom then myself.
I used gloves, sanitizer, mask stayed home 90 percent of the time. What else could we do.
So sorry to hear you got the virus. It is mild for most people and extremely serious for others.
It’s been a few weeks since your original post. How are you doing? How is your mom doing?
Take care

I am a bit too sensitive so guess it's my own issue. Thanks for your input. I definitely am never rude or mean anything like I think we are superior etc here. Only wanted to state facts and sorry if it comes across in any other way. It's hard to say what you mean with words on a screen so everyone understands what you mean.5 -

For the first couple of months my countries top health authority was of the opinion that people wearing masks would increase transmissions and recommended against their use. So it could always be worse.4 -
Australia seems to have a grip on Covid, however, they've a population of what - 30-35K people (about the population of California - one state!) and the US has 330,000! Huge difference. Most people I know (over 55) have 'sheltered in place' other than necessary errands, faithfully following the mask/social distancing. When life resumes to the next level here the outbreaks skyrocket. Herd immunity (like all previous viruses) via resuming to normal life (which will happen now w/election over) will be the answer along with the vaccine to protect the elderly and those with underlying medical conditions.
Yes Australia (pop about 26 million) and New Zealand (pop about 5 million) have a good grip on Covid.
I dont think that is because their population numbers are smaller though or that smaller population numbers somehow explains their success.
All relevant charts compare Covid rates per population so the rate is proportionately adjusted.

I didn't disagree with you either, but I really don't see the link with the mask thing. Just because someone disagrees with your post, which you interpret as rude, doesn't tell you anything about whether or not they wear a mask (or pay their taxes, or eat meat, or any other behaviour in life) especially when your post wasn't focussed on mask wearing. I think if you dropped these kinds of assumptions and comments (which I agree can have an air or superiority or are be felt to be judgemental), people may react differently to you.
That being said, I really wouldn't worry about the disagrees. Some people hit it by accident while scrolling, some do it on multiple posts in a thread for little reason, some people won't agree with you but these are just strangers on a public internet forum, I wouldn't let it bother you.

Yes I've kind of figured that out now thank you Red.1
