Heather: We contacted our county health department. They have a location and planned day for seniors to get vaccinated. The location is the nearby town. Thank goodness it won’t be a “cattle call” for all comers at the fairgrounds. No vaccine is here at this time. In the meanwhile, we wear masks when shopping for food or running errands. :ohwell:

Karen: What a beautiful sunrise! I love the scene with the snow. We haven’t had snow since December 27, 2017. (I asked Siri for the info.) The elevation where we live beside the river is 37 feet above sea level. There are wooded hills relatively close that get more snow than we do many years. I don't think they've had much snow, if any, this year. :star:

Tracey: I am so sorry that Dillon is under palliative care. I hope they are able to keep him comfortable and I wish for a miracle for him.

Kylia: Your sunrise is beautiful! Thank you for the photo. It is currently 6:50 AM and it is still dark here. Sunrise will be at 7:36.

Margaret: I am so sorry for the loss of your niece. :broken_heart:

Lisa: You have good medical support and do the necessary things to keep yourself as healthy as possible. I admire your good sense and positive self-care.

I hope to get out to the stable and visit Arrow in the next few days. I haven’t been there since mid December. I tripped over a curb & fell down on the steps from the parking lot to our driveway & house. I was diagnosed with my very first concussion and hopefully last. My replacement glasses are here now and I can see well again. I no longer feel concussed. YAYYY!!!

I had a long post and clicked on Lisa's link and lost it all. I forget that about MFP, I wish they would fix it.

Doc appointment was good yesterday. Tummy issues were confirmed to be Colitis attack but what I’m doing is making it better so doc said keep at it. DH was good too. So that was great too.

I thought about messaging Allie too but figure she didn’t want to be bothered. But I’m glad some got through to her and she is still “hanging in there”! :)

The ladies on this thread are so supportive and really care about all of us. I am so fortunate to be a part of this group!

"Get to do"s and "chose well"s
    Chose well: DDS
    Bonus: bupkes
Get to do: take BP, dogs to powerline, DDS, pick up Joe’s watch, Post Office trace missing filters, call S, call C, call R, FM Cu, appreciation letter or certificate to boots donator, research effective conflict resolution, index mutual aid files, watch STAS Day 20, make experimental almond paste, declutter sideboard, practice new dances (Pure Movies to Wine, Beer, Whiskey, Sleeping with the Devil, I ain’t never gonna love nobody but Cornell Crawford (Alley cat), A Little Less Broken, One Margarita, I’m so used to being broke, All Night, Nothing but You, Blame it on my beating heart, Homesick); finish mulching flowerbed; broadcast cover crop seed in veg garden areas, invest another 10 minutes in prepping living trust, Freddie’s for complete series TDAP <$48, get Shingrix vaccine, find and configure a screen time popup, figure out where to plant naked lady bulbs, and soon as it warms up above 50 and dries out below 60% humidity I’ll tape and spray paint those rusted areas of Aunt Elsie’s stove. Reconcile Joe’s EOB’s Thrivent shows only 2263.48 so far, next BGBS ask Terry about GB’s FD firetruck tax levy – contacts, media, advocate???, call Wild Rivers (541 247 3514) for dog wash/nail trim appointments.
Reward: inventory seeds, plan next year’s garden, wishlist replenishments,
    Happier January:
29: Use one of your personal strengths in a new way: hmm, detail orientation/NFIRS? Professional communication/Mr. Floyd re portal?

Dentist yesterday took longer and did not go well. Yes had to remove the bridge. Anchor tooth down below gum line so not strong enough to support new bridge. Need to extend over eyetooth, means another 2+ hr appointment to crown prep it. Ugh. Self medicated with red wine, chocolate, cheesecake cone and the temporary popped out. Got it back in, took an ibuprofen and slept through the night. Needless to say did not meet step goals and went way over on CICO. So, of course, was DOWN a lb this morning, go figure. Going back to the DDS at 10:30 to get temporary reseated. Ugh.

Kate stunning socks, you have the gift!
Kylia maybe your MIL is telling you it’s a good thing you have to be away from the store for a whole afternoon… ;) Thank goodness for the monitor. Hate it when doctors conclude (on inadequate evidence) that their patients’ issues are “all in their head.” Your Dr sounds like a good one. Beautiful dawn!
KJ (((hugs))) Lauren’s co-workers’ actions are a tribute to her, and to you, the tree, from which the apple fell not far.
Lisa holding good thoughts for the gastro appointment. Not sure I’d accept your primary care’s response. He is not a heart specialist and may not be up on the latest greatest…
Barbie  your advice to Katla re: her bereaved friend. Glad your friend’s dizziness can be so swiftly resolved.
Karen in VA so good to hear from you. That stunningly beautiful Nebraska sunrise made my toes clench with cold.
Teresa thanks for the sauerkraut recipe!
Tracey good idea about sharing a family member’s phone number with a check in buddy. Maybe when we organize a “progressive” zoom ;) we could also pick check in buddies in our same timezone? :brokenheart: prayers continue for Dillon
Rita glad the Dr was encouraging, keep up the good work!
Heather I can just see you running your 5K with your purple camisole peeping out… Brava!
Betsy hooray for the vaccination appointment! Hope yours follows soon.
Dee ((hugs)) anxiety is so debilitating.
Meg “more than allowed” where you live? the pic, so sorry for your loss.
Katla say Hi to Arrow for us. Neither am I a fan of reptiles. Truthfully I’m prejudiced toward mammals over birds too.
Margaret thank you from the bottom of my heart for your news of Allie. ((hugs)) What Heather said.
Machka I have NOT enjoyed 2+ hours in the dentist’s chair. Thought of you as he had to give additional shots to numb the supposedly insensitive-to-pain root canalled tooth. Could your telehealth Dr order an MRI? Having such pain that you can’t step up onto the bus to get to work should be reason enough?
Michele Gilad step aerobics? Pls be careful of your foot!
Rebecca your cry soup looks yummy, but I’d make a few substitutions (cabbage for the zuke, tomato paste for the diced). “hot shot spice” is new to me, where do you get it?
Julie sorry your evil employer’s letter robbed you of your sleep. People in power over others can be so mean.

I’ve recently enjoyed the incrementally earlier daylight and the heart achingly clear night skies. Cold but beautiful.

Time to pull up those big girl panties, make a hard phone call, hop in the shower and drag my reluctant behind back to the dentist.

    Lighter, lovelies!

    Hello, ladies,

Exhausting morning, talking to two docs for an hour each. Lordie.

Interesting talk with the gastroenterologist as well. I did the right thing by starting the antibiotics as soon as I knew things were going south - and I'm getting three more refills to do the same thing again, if necessary. He also advised me to drink as much liquid as I possibly can each morning, and eat one serving of live yogurt each morning as a natural antibiotic for my small intestine. Taking probiotic pills would not be a good idea, as they don't have the same antibiotic property. (his words, not mine)

Man, I love y'all on this site for so many reasons, but one of them is that I can read at my own speed. Both my docs are Yankees, and they talk so flipping fast... exhausting.

    Later,
    Love,
    Lisa

Just received an update that Dillon is considered paliative. Doctors don’t feel his lungs will recover.

    Tracey

So sorry to read this- pray he proves the doctors wrong.

    {{HUGS}} Tracey!

What brought me joy today was first watching a grey squirrel then a red squirrel playing in the backyard while I was listening to my training webinar. After that was done, I was just sitting playing on my phone when a patch of blue caught my eye. I looked up to see a Bluebird sitting on the branch! It was beautiful! Now, I see Blue Jays and Cardinals all the time, but the Bluebirds are more elusive. About the time I got the camera ready to take it's picture our friend showed up and scared it away. My MIL loved bluebirds and hummingbirds. The funny thing is I immediately thought of her when I saw it. Tonight while looking for something by my husband's work bench, I found her Bluebird magnet that must have fallen there. I wish I knew what she was trying to tell me......

Kylia with a book calling her name in Ohio

we have regular grey/brown squirrels but have only seen red ones in pictures- that would be fun to sit and watch.

Thank you for your kind words... Niece was my sister's (who passed away at 59) daughter. It was not COVID still she died in the hospital and I am not sure any family was able to be with her. Now with COVID not sure what plans are for her memorial.

We still have not had anything for my sister-in-law who past last April. I am glad we were able to have son's service. We did have to change some things although the only thing I would have liked is people being more comfortable going to the chapel on site.

Unfortunately our crime rate like many cities is up, so I appreciate it when our neighbors keep us informed.

Barbara: I love watching wild birds. I have no desire for a pet bird. My favorite pets are dogs, and DH and I both prefer one dog at a time. Our old dog is 14 and doing well after cancer surgery last fall.

Tracey: I am so sorry to hear that Dillon is considered palliative by the doctors. I hope he rallies and surprises everyone. :star:

Margaret: I am so sorry for the loss of your sister’s daughter. Losing a family member is difficult.

I just received a call from our county health department. My husband and I will be eligible for vaccination on or after 2/22. They will call near that time to set up our appointment time, and the address of the place we need to go. Meanwhile, we’re masking up in public and staying safe.

Lisa - You really made me laugh! Both DH and I are quick talkers. My father was rather slow and my mother would sometimes stand behind him and do the mime of winding up the gramophone. :o;) Cruel, but true. I must say I do like a nimble talker. I get very impatient with slow ones and often jump in. Not good. >:) I am often amazed at how fast some Spaniards talk. It's as if they are in a race to get as many words out per minute as possible!

Can't wait for Sunday and our vaccinations. Tapping my feet with impatience.
