5-way mashup (see spoiler for definition). I'll provide the 5 artists (in order) and you have to provide the 5 connecting songs.
    Definition:
    Mashup: MA` sh * up: (n)
The would-be song if two artists mashed their titles together
    Example:
Artist: George Gerswin and Elvis =
Song: I can't give you anything but LOVE Me tender

    1. Norah Jones
    2. Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers
    3. The Beatles
    4. Captain & Tennille
    5. The Rolling Stones

    1. Norah Jones -- Don't Know Why
    2. Frankie Lymon and the Teenagers -- Why Do Fools Fall In Love
    3. The Beatles -- Love Me Do
    4. Captain & Tennille -- Do That To Me One More Time
    5. The Rolling Stones -- Time Is On My Side

I started with the Captain & Tennille and guessed right. I could fill in The Rolling Stones and The Beatles fairly easily. Frankie Lymon and Norah Jones took some investigation, but I should have been able to figure out Frankie Lymon without.

Newton and Magic are correct. This singer is from Australia.

Any more clues would be super obvious I think (easy to say from this end).

@Analog_Kid That's what I was looking for. From the movie Xanadu.

Can you give us a new problem to work on?

Well gosh. Maybe I'll just throw out a bunch of guesses and you can say if one is right?

    1. Pink Floyd - Money or The Wall
    2. Def Leppard - Pyromania
    3. Eric Burdon - War
    4. Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem - ?
    5. Bob Dylan - Lay Lady Lay

    All wild, random, unrelated guesses.

Sorry, no. (But your first guesses were good...but wrong).

I can't think of a clue I could give that wouldn't give it away. But, if you can get the drummer for The Electric Mayhem, then, problem solved.
