What worked for you today?

I logged everything, knowing it would show I blew 95% of my deficit yesterday--but it also told me I didn't overeat. I find that reassuring and it helps me get back on track. With crappy weather and no desire to spend time outside, I tend to have a very small deficit 2 or so days a week. But that is *still* better than giving up and going over my caloric needs, and it has worked for 2 years to keep me losing slowly and not gaining through long WI winters.11

I had pulled pork thawed in the fridge, and it took no time to nuke a small amount, add barbecue sauce, and slap it on a bun and eat it. And there wasn't anything in the store that I wanted more than that pulled pork sandwich, so it kept me on track.
I've been craving sandwich cookies, and discovered that I can have 4 Oreo Thins for 180 calories. Not something to have constantly, but a lot of my evening snacks are right around 180-200, so that's okay. And when I opened the package I had a bag of plastic snack bags handy, and I counted out four cookies into each bag and sealed them up and put it all in a bigger bag in the pantry where it's out of sight.
I know that separate portions like that really work well for me; I've done it with chips all along. Not that I can't open a second bag, I could; somehow, the act of needing to open a separate bag is enough to make me reconsider the extra.
I'm also putting a stray tablespoon measure into the granola jar. I have no excuse not to measure the granola I add to my yogurt for texture.
Tablespoon in the granola jar is a GREAT idea. Maybe that will stop me from doing the "shake a little in...then a little more...oooo there's a big cluster let's drop that in too...okay now I'll log this as two tablespoons" process6 -

can you share what brand and where you found the high fiber low carb tortilla? i am having a tough time finding them! they sound delicious
Sure! So far I've used the Mission brand tortillas - either their Whole Wheat Carb Balance tortilla, which is 70 cal each with 15 grams of fiber, or the Ole Extreme Wellness Wrap which is 50 cal and 11 grams of fiber. I personally like them, they are nice and soft and I can find them fine at my grocery store.

La Banderita carb counter flatbread at Krogers, 45 calories, 4gr carbs. I use this when I went to Burger King and took off their bun and had this. Great way to have a whopper and wont gain weigh!8

What worked for me today was kicking butt at my workout but also adding belly dancing to make it extra fun! 😋
I have lost 10 pounds just logging eatting right and doing work outs that I enjoy. I recommend the FIT ON app. Lots of great workouts to choose from.4 -
Stepping on the scale after a week of indulging and not letting it become a snowball effect.11

Getting a new workout partner! My boyfriend is going to come to the gym three days a week and start doing weight work. My main problem is inertia; I don't want to get up and go, and so having my partners want to go swim or do weight work will get me there, and then I'll do my thing because I'm there.6

Doing a lighter workout. I was sore and not feeling well this morning. I didn't even want to get out of bed. So I allowed myself to do 40 minutes of yoga instead of something harder. This means I STILL moved but didn't burn myself out! It's a small win, but it is a win.12

In addition to walking, I did 15 minutes of yoga & stretching. Also, stayed within my calorie range.6

Admitting I'm struggling. I need to take it easy with exercise; I am sore and if I push, I'll injure myself. But I am down to a calorie goal of 1340 and that is just so hard and I use exercise to help me get a little extra to eat. I'm just hungry lately--and I've been outside more, walking more, but unable to run as much (not that I run a lot, but I couldn't yesterday or today). I am almost 62 (next week) and still trying to lose 1 lb a week. The thought of having to settle for 0.5 a week while I'm still in the 180s is depressing. But at least I'm acknowledging my frustration and thinking about ways to get through this.9

Have you tried varying the kinds of foods you eat in order to address the hunger/ satiety issue?1 -
I felt like a huge breakfast from a drive-thru (that is very rare for me), so I skipped lunch to stay within my budget.4
-
Skipping out on sugary breakfast foods, so I'm not craving sugar throughout the day.8
-
Staying committed. Just focusing on my goals and going from there. I'm currently down 96lbs and super happy with results.13
-
Counting everything that is going in my gob! That is good for a Friday - mind you only lunch time! Come on self will and fortitude!4
-
I bought Girl Scout cookies, ate a single serving, then left the rest of the box on the snack cart for my coworkers to finish off so that I don't end up eating the whole box. Of course, I logged my serving too.7

Working out with my boyfriend. I overcome my inertia by knowing that he expects to go, and talking with him as we go through the workout is fun and companionable.4
-
Nintendo Switch games (Just Dance and certain Ring Fit mini games) as chair aerobics to give my aching legs a rest.3

Listening to a “brain over binge” podcast. All day I was thinking about what I would eat tonight and half-planning a binge even though I didn’t want to (if that makes sense). It’s a horrible feeling. The podcast helped me realize that I’m not powerless; I don’t have to give in.14
