Dog training today. Then pick up new new glasses. I had to go back in and have the prescription rechecked. The progressive lenses on the new prescription was great for near vision, but it was wrong on the medium and far vision. Hope they got it right this time. The young lady optometrist was VERY cute this time. I wouldn't mind seeing her again.
I'm starting back on ibuprofen instead of celebrex, although I feel OK this morning. I think my flare has subsided for the moment.
Mike, I only hope to get back to half the level of hiking that you and Dave do. I used to be able to walk and hike forever. I actually did a short hike with the pups yesterday at a pretty fast pace and tweaked my left achilles tendon. Ugh. Stupid body.
Bill, hope you are feeling better today.
Be OP ;-)0 -
Morning.
Pulled a tick out of my leg this morning, left over from the hike Thursday I assume. Uhhg--tick season again. Will keep an eye on the bite; we live in a Lyme disease area.
I am very lucky. Before my bypass surgery in '99 I never got any exercise to speak of. Stent and then bypass fixed a 96% blockage in a main artery to the left ventricle; technician afterwards said "that's one of those you don't wake up the next morning." Very motivating... After I healed the rehab folks got me once a week for ten weeks for an hour of exercise, an hour of nutrition and an hour of stress reduction. They sent us home with a logbook to record our walking, etc. and I started walking local trails a little bit almost every day. Got involved with a hiking club and gradually upped the mileage. That was >20 years ago and I still enjoy the outdoors immensely; ups and downs in health, but I keep at it.
DGS plays his first football game today since the pandemic started. A four-game season with no fans in the stadium. They're playing Lafayette away, might be televised. Go Holy Cross!0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
Spring weather, today. It should get up to 60. Yeah, we are a lot cooler than the rest of the country. At least the sun is out. I mowed and fertilized the lawn, yesterday, then sprayed dormant oil on the apple trees. That's about the limit of my gardening duties.
I yearn to get out on a lonely trail, but just can't seem to find time. Too many obligations.
DW's laptop is in an endless cycle of blue screens and error messages, for which I can find no solution, so we are shopping for yet another laptop, today.1 -
Good morning!
Still trying to rest, but also want to get a few things done today.
Hearing aid was under my pillow. Whew!
We have everyone agreeing now that if I go another 3-5 weeks, and symptoms are not better, then I can have an MRI. In the meantime, I am starting to look at exercise, foods, and other things to help with the inflammation and arthritis pain.
I'm not sure what is on tap for today. Some chores, some rest, some maybe running around.
Looking for a cane today? Ugh!
Mike, ticks already? Last picture I saw with you was snow and ice. I HATE ticks!
Dave, good luck with the computer search. Connie's has been acting up too.
Have a great day!0 -
Good Morning
Rough night with nerve pain. This is getting old. Pumping in Tylenol to keep the back pain calmer at least. Not much planned today, but we will grill some steaks tonight. We have spent most of the last two afternoons evenings binge-watching early seasons of the Great British Baking shows and trying to be comfortable. Once things calm down I will be back baking and ruining my neighbor's health.0 -
Ouch Bill! Steaks sound good. We enjoy some of the British Baking Show. "NOW BAKE! The time starts now!
Wow Mike ticks. Luckily not a big problem here. It will be low 60s again today near PDX. As Dave says that's good to go weather in the PacNW.0
