Heck yeah! I came in under-budget almost every day this week, so I knew I'd see a loss, and if I didn't, I knew it would be water retention since my sodium has been a bit high this week - dinner last night was ramen, LOL.
TPTB have decided to order lunch for us today - it's a floating holiday so about half the staff are off today, the rest will be off Monday (myself included in the latter group). They ordered Italian (salad, meatballs, chicken parm, pasta alla vodka, and a "dessert tray," whatever that means). I think I'm going to "forget" they ordered lunch and just eat what I brought (which is already weighed and accounted for) - if anyone asks, I just remembered we're having Italian for dinner tonight. (Not a complete lie, we are having frozen pizza, LMAO)12 -

I'm coming up to the end of my first 12 week deficit cycle (I'm on an aggressive deficit for now), and will enter a 2 week maintenance "diet break" phase on 5 April. BUT I'll still be logging, weighing weekly and exercising, not stuffing myself silly.
Hey Arralethec! Will you tell me more about your 12 week deficit cycle and the 2 week maintenance schedule? Does this avoid plateaus? How has this worked for you? Thank you! Hoping to avoid plateauing here soon!2 -

April Goals:
๐ป Exercise 3x/week
๐ป Log consistently
๐ป Spend more time outside
Hello! I was a lurker to the last thread and figured I'd jump in this go around as it's incredibly refreshing to see numbers and hurdles similar to mine. We are planning a lengthier Disney vacation next year, so my larger goal is to get healthier for that venture. My goal for this month is to spend more time outside, whether that be along the lines of playing outside with my son or even taking a walk while listening to a podcast. The weather is finally considering starting to turn here so hopefully that will mean we can be spending our evenings playing outside.
I've been trying to get back into the habit of weighing and logging my foods. Meal planning is also a bigger hassle for me now. I used to only really have to worry about what I wanted to eat as my son is young enough to not care either way. He still eats whatever - but now I'm cooking for a very basic Meat & Potatoes type of guy (no salad/veg/etc ๐). It's definitely thrown a wrench in the majority of my go-to meals.
Anywho ... glad to be here! Happy Easter!13 -

Hello everyone. I am new to this group but not new to MFP, this is my 3rd go on here. My last time here I lost 35lbs but stopped because I had my daughter. I struggled creating that balance with being a new mom, having a newborn, working, keeping up with house work and having family time. I put my own needs last and sadly I regained all my weight and then some....well... a lot more. Early in March I found myself with a health scare that landed me in the hospital. All my tests came back fine and I was told it was important to follow up with my doctor within 5 days. I did and was diagnosed as diabetic. That very same day (March 10th) my senior cat, who was my baby, passed away. I was devastated. (I am an animal lover) The following day I woke up and could barely function. Most of the day is a blur. The day after I woke, still sad, but motivated to take back my life. I began to log my foods on here. A few days later I started adding in physical activity. Today is my 22nd day rejoining MFP. It was the best decision I could have made.
Since rejoining I have had many NSV as well as a 13 lb weight loss. My fasting blood glucose level has gone from high 160s to a new low of 114. I have been exercising regularly. I have more energy. I find I am not craving all the foods that were terrible for me as I was prior to this. I am sleeping better and wake up feeling rested. I no longer feel that I need to start my day with two cups of coffee. I found taking carge of my life has also helped me cope in a healthier way with the loss of my furbaby. (I am a comfort eater)
April goals:
To add strength training in to my routine.
To continue to improve my blood glucose level.
To be out of the 250 range and into (or close to) the 240 range.
To get my gardens ready and plant my seeds. (I'm also a gardener)

April GW: 220 lbs
Non-scale Goals for April:
๐ธ Not letting disruptions to my routine paralyze me. Come up with some alternative plans should my day "get away" from me.
๐ธ Meal planning!
๐ธ Begin Couch-to-5k
๐ธ 10 pm bedtime
๐ธ Minimize time spent on social media and mindless entertainment; replace them with more fulfilling pursuits (ie - writing, art, needlepoint, crochet, reading, language learning, really anything worthwhile)**
**I've noticed that there's a direct correlation between the time I spend scrolling through social media and/or bingeing on shows (often ones I'm either only moderately interested in or I've seen before) and my motivation, my mood, and my feelings about life in general. I become listless and a bit cranky or melancholy. I don't like it!

I want to pick up a handicraft for the same reasons as you @misplacedmama, but I just can't decide on one. And I, unfortunately, do not have infinite money to sample a dozen art hobbies. I do have a nice set of watercolors, but I'd really like to get a Baby's First Cross-Stitch kit or something, cross-stitch looks so meditative and fun and much easier to just pick up and put down as my attention span allows. Watercolor is nice and all but it requires a lot of setup and cleanup.2
-
@goal06082021 I hear you. Cross-stitch is a good one to work on here and there and generally doesn't require a lot of set-up and clean-up.2

I am going to try my hardest to meet my weekly exercise goals each week for the entire month โ I'm not going to lie it is very difficult at times due to the pain I feel from my osteoarthritis and weight, but I'm going to keep pushing through as best I can because I so very much want to be more mobile!8 -
@goal06082021 do you knit or crochet? I love both of those handcrafts because I find the repetitive motion sooo meditative and calming. I usually try to crochet or knit while watching tv because then it stops me from sinking into the bored listless TV stupor where I let Netflix continue on to the next episode, and the next episode... but cross-stitch is lots of fun too!!3

Hey ladies!
April is a new month. I lost 7.4 pounds in March and I'm hoping to do the same! I wanted to get to onederland but that might be an unrealistic goal, we'll see. I'm working this whole long weekend so that'll save me some Easter dinner/chocolate calories haha. I plan to take my dog on a big walk today. I didn't get the exercise the last couple days cause I was working long days, but I was definitely active at work and got my steps in. I've been feeling so good lately watching the weight go down and feeling in control of what I'm eating. I've recently taken over all the cooking in my house and my hubby will eat anything I make so I've got pretty free range. I never really liked cooking, but I got this new kitchen and now I'm starting to really enjoy it.
Goals for April:
- track everything everyday, even little bites here and there and even when it's bad
- drink more water
- go for a walk daily (with the exception of my 12 hour work days)
- cut back on sugar
- no late night snacking, brush teeth early to help
Happy Saturday everyone!10 -

Cesse47 loved your goals. Can relate to decluttering . Sometimes think I need to keep everything as I need to hold on to the memories.
Thanks for the post!2 -
Cesse47 loved your goals. Appreciated the goal of decluttering. Sometimes I have a hard time of letting go of things. Feel like I am the keeper of the memories.

My goodness but I have a LOT of cooking to do this weekend. Breakfast and lunch for the week (burritos and cabbage rolls, respectively), a pecan pie and roasted sweet potatoes for Easter dinner tomorrow, and fish tacos with pico de gallo and lime crema for dinner tonight. I'm off Monday so I could space things out a little bit by making the cabbage rolls later, but I also kind of want to get it all knocked out so I don't have to spend my entire long holiday weekend in the kitchen.
I've finished the burritos, they're all wrapped up and in the freezer now - we switched to using a smaller tortilla, soft-taco-size (about 8") instead of burrito-size (about 10"), because the larger ones suffered from Extra-Crispy Ends Syndrome and my husband found that unpleasant to eat. The smaller burritos don't have this problem, and they're also a cool 120 calories lighter than the bigger ones, so it's win-win. My breakfasts now clock in around 300 calories and tbh they do still keep me going, I don't find myself needing a snack by 10 AM or anything. We've got sausage, Yukon gold potato, grilled red onion, and pepper jack cheese in the egg mix this week; I was going to add black beans, and then I proceeded to not do that.
The pico de gallo and lime crema are also now chilling in the fridge so those flavors can get to know each other for a little while before dinner. The pico is my entry for this week's r/52WeeksofCooking challenge over on Reddit - the theme for week 14 (4/2-4/8) is Forbidden Fruit, so I wanted to make something with tomato. The challenge will be remembering to take pictures before we devour it all, LMAO. I do wish we had chips because I'm certain we're not going to eat all of the pico on our tacos, maybe I'll bake some of the extra corn tortillas into crispy triangles. I know they're supposed to be deep-fried, but I hate frying in my tiny kitchen, it makes the whole house smell like grease for days. I especially don't want to fry the fish for that reason - those fillets are getting baked instead.7 -

I ran a my first chip timed road race since February 2020 and came in first in the Women's Master Division for 10K and 7th overall with a 9:12 mile pace. This was a personal best for me. I had an advantage - we had staggered start times to avoid over crowding, and I missed my start, so I ran really fast, trying to catch up with my peer group.
Found an outlet for my baking hobby - there is an organization that provides Sunday lunch to the homeless in my community that was looking for someone to make several dozen cookies each week. I made some really fantastic chocolate chip and double chocolate chocolate chip cookies today. Unfortunately, I ate one of each (you know, to make sure they were acceptable). So, despite my intense morning workout, I might be over my calories today. ๐ฎ
