KJ--check out " Every woman matters" They pay for mammograms and pap tests. Great news about the new grandbaby. Praying for all to go well.

Debbie--sending hugs to you and DH. Losing our furbabies is not easy. But remember you did what was best for her.

Happy B-lated birthday Viv and Lisa.

It was a very nice weekend. We had Easter with DS and family on Saturday and yesterday we went to church and then to other DS's and had dinner with them and DD and husband. Also it was 85 degree's yesterday. So DH and I went for a motorcycle ride. Rode just over 100 miles. It felt go to drive the trike again. It is going in to the shop to have some front end work done as DH says it is to hard to turn and keep straight in the wind. I did get a little sunburned but sure was nice just being out.

Have Bible study tonight. It is only a 6 week study and got my reading done for tonight so I am readly. Woke up at 3am this morning, It is starting to catch up with me. Pray I sleep better tonight.

Blessings, Vicki GRAND ISLAND NE <3

Hi all! Just dropped in to say hello and introduce myself. I'm new to the group, new to posting here on MFP, new to Keto lifestyle.

Lots of health & weight loss goals. Just turned 60 in February, and I'm ready to lose about 40 lbs that I've been carrying for too long.

Lisa- Happy birthday, dear friend! <3
Yellow. I don't care for yellow, but have lived in three yellow houses in my lifetime. Current house is yellow. When we moved in, I painted the entranceway, living room, and one bedroom different shades of yellow. Then I read that warm tones (yellows, oranges, reds) tend to make kids more agitated and warm tomes in the dining area/kitchen make you want to eat more. Lol. So...cool colors in my house, now.

KJ - congrats and hope things go well with DD's pregnancy.

Lisa - Happy birthday! Enjoy the new plants.

The deer got to the little cherry bush we planted last year and we thought it would probably not recover. We built a cage around it and it has lots of buds on it and we anticipate building a bigger cage to allow it more room to grow and still keep the deer away. All of our blueberries are caged too.

Everyone take care Sue in WA

Sue—We have three blueberry bushes and I cover them with netting to protect them from deer. The netting is very helpful. The band of deer ate my beans last year & I’m not planning to try growing them this year. I was soooo frustrated. I’m planning to “harvest” my beans at the grocery store. :ohwell:

A Very Happy Birthday Lisa!!!!!!! :flowerforyou: Sorry your digestion problems have reoccurred. :/

Proud of myself this evening for using up lots of old vegetables to make a delicious curry. Added half a tin of chickpeas.
I still have a sweet potato, parsnips and some cauliflower left, so I'll be roasting those tomorrow and need to think what protein to go with it.
I think I will have to sleep upstairs tonight though. :o;)

Back to my editing tomorrow and hope to make progress on my LPA Also move towards booking next year's cruise. Need to decide on cabin grade.

Yes CJ,they are still making those programmes, though I'm a bit frustrated with MM. The plots have got just too ridiculous. We have watched so many antiques programmes that we are pretty much experts now! We were asked to appear on one last year, but D H wimped out. Grrrrrr! I hope they'll ask us again.

    Going to be freezing tonight.

    Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx

Did Essential Pilates DVD. I didn’t realize the time and had to forgo riding the recumbent bike because I needed to get dressed for church. Work tomorrow so no formal exercise

Rori – thanks for popping in. Happy Easter to you. (((GREAT BIG HUG)))

Went to Easter mass today. No rows blocked off. Really relying on people to do their own social distancing. Interestingly….they had the congregation singing. Vince went with me. Now we’ll go outside and work on the pool

Got this expensive cut of meat because I thought Jess would be here. But she’s not. Had I known, I would never have spent the amount of money that I did. Fed my sourdough starter this morning and now have to do it again. Want to save the discard for waffles. Oh, the meat is a standing rib roast. Got it for $6.99 a pound. It’s something like 5 pounds Update: I think it’s ready for me to make bread tonight.

    Lynette Fl – welcome!

KJ – We spoke to Colby wishing him a happy birthday and I asked what they had. In the end, she had hot dogs and hamburgers. I don’t know that I’d have had that, but it’s not me

I’ve noticed that many nights my stomach “rumbles”. No, I don’t feel sick, just a rumbling sound. What I think I’m going to try to do after today is try having a much smaller dinner, maybe just a bowl of cereal (which reminds me that I need to get my breakfast ready for tomorrow).

Sue WA – your locker rooms weren’t available???? What about the showers? Bathrooms?

Took advantage of this 70 degree weather and did more work on getting the pool opened. Handrail covers on, salt put in (we need to buy more – probably after bowling tomorrow), my float blown up, wall between the spa and the pool cleaned, got leaves out of the pool (for some reason the thing we have that sucks them up isn’t working so we had to use the leaf catcher), ran the water slide and spillover, found that we need to recaulk parts of the spillover, last of the ceramics out, umbrellas out, I probably left some things out.

KJ – when we go to see Denise, do you think a toy slide would be appropriate for PJ? He’ll be two. I’m thinking of a Little Tykes slide and you can have the slide even go into a blow-up pool. Is there anything else that you’d recommend? Remember, I haven’t seen him in over 8 months, I have no idea what sort of thing he’s interested in. Is he maybe interested in a tool bench? I have no idea. Something he can bang? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

    Monday here

Worked today so no formal exercise. The plan for tomorrow is to do a body pump DVD

    KJ – congratulations!!!

I spoke to the lady at work today and asked her what my duties are right now. She said that basically, they don’t want you to be just standing around, that if I see that the person who usually gets the carts is on a register, I can go and get them. The positive is that I’ll get in more steps!

Then bowling then to the post office to mail Jess the things I had for her Easter Basket, then to the dollar store for a bag for a gift for the lady who runs the gym that I go to. Mahjongg tonight but to be honest, I really don’t feel like going. This is the first time it’ll be face-to-face and that’ll mean that I need to drive into Hickory (15 minute drive) then drive home to be there for 1 and ½ hr. I really wish they were doing it online. So...I’m going to tell the woman that we went to the vet (well, Vince went earlier) and that we needed to regrout the spillover in the pool (Vince did that) which we need to do today so it has time to set up before the rain that they’re predicting for Thurs. If I call her around 6:15 and tell her that we haven’t even eaten dinner yet so there is no way I can be at her house at 6:45

drkatie – could your husband stand at the back of the church?

    Lisa – happy belated birthday

    Lorraine – welcome!

Made a loaf of bread and letting another one rise so I can make it tomorrow morning. I'm going to make one to take up to Denise's. I remember Pete saying that he liked sourdough.

Bonnie seemed to be favoring her right hind leg so Vince took her to the vet today. It seems that she has a lump on her throat. They took blood, hopefully that’ll give an idea of what it might be. If not, we’ll need to take her for a CT scan, probably in Charlotte or Asheville. Vince is upset, but my feeling is “why worry about something until there’s something to worry about?”

The TV didn't come on until about 7 pm. :)

I love not having the TV on. It hasn't been on since last Tuesday evening. I need to work on less computer and phone screen time.

That's one of the things I like about cycling. It's too hilly to go right from home, so we drive to better locations and then ride ... a weekend ride can take me away from my computer for 3 or 4 hours! :)

I'm envious you can take your bikes elsewhere. Mine won't fit in my car and there isn't a hitch and ball rack for it yet. I don't want one that hangs off the back. My bike is heavy and those are not as sturdy. Our roads around here are atrocious and dangerous for biking. I'd love to take them where there are better surfaces.

We buy vehicles with cycling in mind. :)

When we went looking for our most used van, the #1 criteria was ... it must be able to hold at least 2 bicycles inside. It can actually hold 4 if 2 of them are our folding bikes.

We have had two Pfizer vaccinations and my headache has been easing away. YAY! On the other hand, we’re still locked down. We haven’t sorted out how to choose fun activities that have been impossible for so long. We will be easing into our new future. Many businesses in our town have closed their doors. I hope that many can reopen soon.

Viv: I think I missed your birthday while coping with the headache. Happy Birthday!!!

    Good evening all-

Just checking in. Have been reading but haven't had much to share. Lower back is still recovering, much slower than I would like. Not as painful but it and bursa have been waking me up in the middle of the night. Did some experimenting and I think stretches for bursa/it band irritating back and then it all kicks in. Woke up yesterday feeling fairly decent, did stretches, then in pain. Ended up on heating pad on couch and slept through church! Oh well, it was still Easter. Not going to do any stretches/formal exercise until it has eased down and doesn't hurt when I do them. For some reason I don't bounce back from a fall as quickly at 66! I miss the gym but going easy for a bit longer is my best path back.

Working office again. I can work at home whenever I chose but it is nice to be getting into a routine and going in. Very easy for me to distance from others. We are slowing bringing some positions back in, but we are not ready to have 200+ in complex at same time. Am starting to have in person exec meetings (well distanced) in building. Easing people back in a few at a time and rotating that.

Hope everyone has a good week. The warmer temperatures are helping.

    Take care all,

Good day after......it has become my fav holiday. All the cleaning ,shopping, cooking js over, just the 2 of us at home. Aaaaa,it’s a great day of heated left overs, doing nothing except remembering those who are gone, living just in our hearts. We miss them!

Sometimes we get boxes & books of pictures to ahh & Ohhhhh over. Have to have a limit.....no crying jags allowed.

Blood work went zip & done. Thanked all involved for their sweet, caring lab work.Just a tiny jab of the needle & done! Such a relief it was. Later in the day, great news from the thyroid specialist. Blood work showed I am in the mid range....with thyroid still working. So far,so good & no med required.Thank the Lord!.

Thanks to all who shared with me.I’m not above reminding some ppl that I learned to be afraid in their labs

Lisa, your flowers, trees & orchid are so pretty.Might find a few more pics next time. Past my bed time, good night all.

:) Just checking in after another pleasant day of walking with and without dogs, weed pulling, watching TV, riding exercise bike, puttering on the computer, chatting with Jake.
