Honestly the fact I didn't gain more this week has me shocked. It has been super stressful as they ripped up the floors. My house was like a warzone. So we ate out a lot this week. But floors are down, they are beautiful, and the house is beginning to look like a home again. lol.

@JoDavo66 Mine was definitely health-related...had a condition that developed where I thought it was something fairly simple and routine and I was caring for myself at home. Suffered in silence for nearly ten days and when things were not improving, finally dragged myself to the doctor. She took one look and sent me directly to the hospital for emergency surgery. I had an abscess that exploded and it was infected, turned to sepsis and I nearly died. The ER staff said I was just a few hours away from death when I drove myself to the hospital. This was in 2017. My kidneys nearly shut down as well. After ten days in the hospital, I made the decision to work on my health. Things haven't progressed as I would have hoped...but I haven't given up.
So my "why" is that I want to live life and be able to function without heavy meds and without pain. I HAVE to succeed.
Good question...can't wait to read everyone's responses...

Kids went to Idaho with their dad this weekend, so I just worked, but good news/bad news, I looked at the schedule and my hours were cut, which is fine, I have been working 60-70 hours a week, but at the same time I wish they would have asked me first. oh well, I actually have a couple days off this month (not until the 15th but still, something to look forward to) I also finally worked out this weekend, I only worked out like 2 days in the past 3 weeks, but I got 2 really good workouts in this weekend, and Im sore as heck. Stuck to my diet the past few days, so hopefully I can get back to my weight going downward.5 -

Hmm...this one is interesting. I guess it kind of makes sense as a 'two week loss' given I felt good about what I did last week but only had 0.1lb down, but I also didn't ... feel like it was coming? Usually before I get on the scale, my expectations are half based on how I think I did from steps/eating, and half on how I feel in the moment. And even though the steps were definitely high, when I weighed in I felt fluffy (definitely did not *feel* 3+ pounds down), so not sure how seriously to take this one lol. Could just be the floor in the new apartment. Although it is much nicer for the mental state for it to err down rather than up ha.
I also have yet to find a good place for the scale in the new apartment where it can be undisturbed until I use it. I don't like when it shifts around because I want its location to stay consistent and my weight to be the only changing variable, but the bathroom is very small and I haven't figured out where it will live long term. Ugh.
My Saturday 'run' was not exciting this week. I wasn't feeling it so I just did the first mile (much slower than I had in the past) and then walked the rest of the loop without trying to add in any further stretches. A bit of a bummer but also I was happy with myself for just getting out at all when I *really* didn't feel like it, so that's something!
I think my steps will continue to be on the higher end because the new apartment is 3.5+ miles from work, so on days when I am able to walk they'll be up there. On days when I can't walk (like because of rain) I'll probably be < 5,000 haha. I'll continue the step challenge with a goal boosted to 15,000.
Yesterday I went on a hike with my best friend and some of her friends. It wasn't a mountain, just loops in a state park (though there were elevation changes...my Garmin said we did 64 floors), but it ended up being 8+ miles and there were a *lot* of steep stairs at one point to get up/down from a destination point. If I hadn't been walking so much recently I think I would have struggled a lot, but even though I got a bit tired towards the end while we were finishing up, I'm not sore today! After the hike we did go to a cookout with some of their other friends. I had a few pieces of watermelon, a cheeseburger (plus half a burger with no bun), and too many chips BUT only drank water, said no to oreos, and said no to ice cream...overall quite good, especially for my 'cheat' day.
We'll see how next week looks!6 -

Step Challenge!!! Time to renew your step challenge for May...weather is getting better, time to step up your game and get motivated!!! Haven't had many walkers sign up for the month yet...which is surprising. Send me your daily step goal and tell me your favorite place to walk or a new place you'd like to go to walk and I'll sign you up...also, if your first name isn't obvious from your USERID on MFP, give me your first name as well.
Looking forward to seeing high stats this month...one step at a time!
Let's go y'all!!

Honestly almost all my steps come from the treadmill, or from work. I work 2 jobs, one is more of a desk job now days (used to not be but has turned into that) the other is always standing and moving.2 -

Its really so I can continue to travel with my wife. Being limited already by mobility is a bit tough, but I want to be able to do some of the more active activities she wants to do. I don't want a 3 mile hike to be a burden and we both love nature and exploration.3 -
Step goal... last month it was 6k... I want to push for 7k. Not sure I will hit it everyday but I want to try.2
