Allie: I am so sorry for the loss of your friend to Covid.0

Lisa - yes it is my husband and I that burn and paint wood ornaments. We have cut all of our own wood slices. Hubby cuts, I sand he burns, I colour, felt and loop. We cut them at 1/4 inch thick.
We bake ours in the oven at 200 for anywhere from 4-6 hours to get all the moisture out, this is where you’ll hopefully get all the cracks that are going to happen before you do the work.
Allie and Heather- my paternal grandmother had 7 children and had a terrible time adjusting to cook for herself when the time came. She ended up being malnourished. My maternal grandmother had just one child and had a much easier transition.
I had a very exciting surprise yesterday. As most of you know I am originally from New Brunswick and live in Alberta. While scrolling FB yesterday my friend shared her son’s post that he had room on a trailer coming to Alberta on May 21st. I contacted her to see if he still had room and he did, so I’m getting my parents kitchen table!!!!! I am so incredibly excited. This table came to my parents when I was 12, it was my Great Grandmother’s. It has 8 leafs. I don’t think it’s leaves when talking about tables, you may correct me if I’m wrong. I also have the dishes my Great Grandmother used on it. I told my Mom today I was getting it. She was quite happy for me.
I had a deck visit with my Grandchildren yesterday. My Grandson looks so much older with his glasses.

In the context of a table leaf, what is the correct plural term, "table leafs" or "table leaves"? Per Merriam-Webster's online dictionary either is a correct plural for the word leaf. There is no differentiation between the usages. The usage of the word for part of a table is that it is suggestive of a leaf. Hence, it follows the same usage.2

Machka ... I heard on today's news that Australia plans to ban international travel until mid 2022!
Beth near Buffalo
Yep!
Works for us! I doubt we'll even be able to leave Tasmania, because of my husband's accident and WC situation, until then.
Somehow it feels better knowing that no one can leave the country.

Back to work today. Catching up with emails etc.
I'm also catching up with stairs. I'm in a stair climbing challenge and lost a week because I was home all last week. Now I've got to climb more to catch up!!

Good Monday,
Plants are in the ground. Gutters and roof top cleaned out/off. Went to Costco. Took a 2 hour nap. Apparently, I needed naps this weekend Never made it to the grocery. Not fretting about that though. Will go next week when we get back. Feel like I was unproductive, but I reckon that is okay occasionally.
Family resemblance is definitely strong in my family, I agree! I was happy to see that my youngest daughter and family went to baseball tournament with oldest daughter and her family this weekend. It is good for them!
I reckon since I am now caught up here again and it is early morning, I should do some work stuffs.
Will check in later.

So sorry for your loss, Allie (((hugs)))
I hope that your visit to the sleep clinic gives you the answers you need.
Love all the kiddy pics and others, especially gardens and landscapes. It's so interesting to see where others live.
Kylia: - I am of the same mind with my belongings. I'm gradually getting rid of a lot of those things which I no longer enjoy. Hubby and I had a conversation about it a couple of days ago, and he agrees. He's already started on his old magazines.
Pip: - Condolences for your dog walking friend.
Debbie: - I hope your sister sees some sense.
Heather: - I always liked cooking. I am fascinated by the alchemy of taking a handful of ingredients and creating something attractive to all the senses.
I empathise with your difficulties in organising a meet up with your gks. We are trying to organise a family get together with my daughters and grandsons, but the weather is not cooperating.
I wrote a post last night but seem to have lost it.
Last week I had a bit of a tummy upset which erupted on Friday afternoon. Needless to say, I felt fragile over the weekend, but mostly back to normal this morning. Will try and get caught up with your posts today. PS: feeling much better today.
Welcome to our new gals. Looking forward to getting to know you.
💕💖💕 to those who need them.

At church council I was the only one masked. Our pianist/music leader told me that she personally knew that every person present at the council meeting had been fully vaccinated. I was happy to remove my mask. It will be different at line dancing Tuesday. I personally know that 3 of the gals have not and will not be vaccinated, so I will be one of the only two that keep our masks on. [sigh]
Katla Yoga AND Thai restaurant opening? Hooray!
Julie it is the same here, must follow up every test to make sure received. Frequently staff says “It’s not in the computer” because labs, hospitals, providers all have different systems that are not exchanging data well. Sometimes one office has to fax hard copy to another, who then scans it in. Then the MA, PA or MD really has to LOOK at the results. Pfaugh.
Pip ((hugs)) true reminder, all we have is NOW.
Terri welcome back to the land of the living, glad you’re finally feeling better, thanks for the virtual hug
Welcome @margaret_bodine ! cooking for 1 is challenging. I need to start every meal with a vegetable, freeze at least half of what entrée I make for both portion control and boredom/repetition avoidance, weigh and log every bite, lick and sip. Good luck!
Heather, I had to google “J’ai la peche”, Brava!. Moi, j’ai la patate
Welcome @LisaKinVA and congratulations on no markers for inflammation in four weeks. That is a great accomplishment!
Beth what you said about toffee
Margaret congrats on your mini choir. It does feel great to be back to church and singing
Allie ((hugs)) so sorry for your loss and the grim reminder that this pandemic isn’t over yet. Hope the consult leads to a sleep test and some answers soon.
Tracey your GS looks so serious!
Kylia “…Plants are in the ground. Gutters and roof top cleaned out/off. Went to Costco….” wish I were as “unproductive” as you!
I really wanted red wine today but it was sunny and warm so I opted for real beer and ended up going way over on calories with pizza, salty and sweet snacks. Had I had the 2 glasses of red wine, chicken rigatoni and salad that I’d planned it would have been much better. Ah well.

Did Power Yoga DVD and then walked. Work tomorrow so no formal exercise.
Kylia – ever year I string popcorn to put on our Christmas tree. Yes, you read right. But….if I do it now I can do it on my deck before the pool is ready (warm enough) to use. And pieces that break off are blown away by the wind and the birds eat them. This way, I don’t have to clean up. Am I lazy or what….lol?
Katla – how great for you that that restaurant only changed its name. Wonder why they did that?
Streaming services: Vince has this “thing” against them so we don’t have any. Doesn’t bother me a whole lot since I don’t watch a lot of TV. I record a few shows and it usually takes me a few months to get caught up.
KJ – that was very nice of you to go to that woman’s house.
Cool today but I’m wearing shorts.

Gearing up for clearing out/winnowing my old books. Aaarrrrgggghhhh!
Love Heather UK xxxxxxxx2 -
I'm like an ant on a hot rock - can't settle to anything. The kids and grandkids will be here about noon or one p.m. (four to five hours from now) and I keep doing another round of the house trying to toddler-proof at least some areas. Much of that will simply be a shut door--and I'm pretty sure he's able to open doors by now, too.
I think I'll leave the house here in a little - if I stay here, I'll be even more whack-a-doodle by the time they get here.
Welcome to those who are new to us, we're glad you're here! Drop into the conversation anywhere, you'll be welcome.
Love,

Lisa- have a great time with your daughter and the littles..
I am sitting in the waiting room for the consultation for a sleep study..
Then to pick up Homer and wait on grocery delivery1
