    Began MFP Oct 28.18 at 191 pounds

    This is my 6th round on this thread: Round 1 loss 3.7, Round 2 loss 2.7, Round 3 loss 8.9, Round 4 loss 4.0
    19.3 total loss over 4 rounds, 400 days. Round 5 loss 4.6.
    23.9 pound loss over 500 days.
    I always reach for a 10 pound loss each 100 even though that hasn't happened.
    I keep track of calories left over at the end of each day, in the Green on the MFP tracker. My aim is 500+ average calories in the Green each day (deficit) - this would lead to a 5lb loss over 100 days.

    Day 1: Mon, 4/5: 133.1 - I actually dnw, I am using my EW from the last round. 1049 in the Green
    Day 2: Tues, 4/6: 134.3 - Ouch. 607 in the Green
    Day 3: Wed, 4/7: 133.7 - Completely on track. I am starting to wonder if the daily skating for 2 weeks developed me some heavier quads and glutes. 844 in the Green
    Day 4: Thurs, 4/8: 132.6 - Saw 131.XX many times in the last 100, trying to get there and beyond. 536 in the Green
    Day 5: Fri, 4/9: 133.2 - Extremely early weigh-in, 3am. My schedule is out of wack right now. 516 in the Green
    Day 6: Sat, 4/10: 132.1 - Do we have only 6 days in this first week? 439 in the Green


    Day 7: Sun, 4/11: 133.8 - Hoping that this is just some sort of weird fluctuation. 565 in the Green
    Day 8: Mon, 4/12: 132.4 - Better. 846 in the Green
    Day 9: Tues, 4/13: 133.7 - Trying not to let this fluctuation upset me. eating and exercise were on point. I am really off of my clock this week adding an evening job into my mix. 765 in the Green
    Day 10: Wed, 4/14: 133.3 - I had hoped to have a cushion so that I could have Ribs later this week. After juggling my bunch of jobs, getting home late and eating very late...I may have to delay my Ribs feast. Keeping my workouts up, but only little bits at a time this week. 900 in the Green
    Day 11: Thurs, 4/15:: 132.1 - Good, back to last week's EW. 822 in the Green
    Day 12: Fri, 4/16: 131.5 - Lowest so far on this journey, fluctuations may happen, but touching it for the first time feels great. 7 in the Green
    Day 13: Sat, 4/17: 133.3 - Delicious Ribs last night. Honey Garlic variety this time. Kind of worth the almost 2 pound gain, and expected. I will work it off over the next week. I will have Ribs again in the month of May : - ) Hours of yard work/gardening on the schedule for today on top of Fitness Marshall workouts throughout the day. 865 in the Green



    Day 14: Sun, 4/18: 133.1 - Hoping to work the Ribs off over the next few days. I used to have them each week instead of each month. I see why it was impossible for me to take weight off back then. Once per month is enough : - ) 698 in the Green
    Day 15: Mon, 4/19: 134.2 : - ( 689 in the Green
    Day 16: Tues, 4/20: 133.0 - Better, but 16 days in and only 0.1 under my start weight. Sticking with it. 899 in the Green
    Day 17: Wed, 4/21: 132.9 - I have been battling a sore shoulder for 2 weeks, still working out, but modifying. 1187 in the Green
    Day 18: Thurs, 4/22: 133.1. I am going to give myself a break after work tonight for the next 2 days and indulge slightly. I will just have to deal with the consequences. I have been going at breakneck pace this week on the work front. 283 in the Green
    Day 19: Fri, 4/23: 132.4 - Surprising, because I had appies for dinner: spinach artichoke bites, boneless dry garlic pork, and the like. Calories in and out were on point though. Veered away from my usual chicken breast with 4 veggies and a bit of rice. 893 in the Green
    Day 20: Sat, 4/24: 133.5 - I repeated the eating behaviour, so expected this. I needed a break and my weight wasn't changing anyway. Meal prepping today, my day off. 646 in the Green



    Day 21: Sun, 4/25: 134.3 - Not very happy with this number. 528 in the Green
    Day 22: Mon, 4/26:133.5 - I worked a split shift yesterday, so ate later than I like to do. 842 in the Green
    Day 23: Tues, 4/27: 132.7 - Hopefully adapting to my newest work schedule and can begin to drop some more weight again. 986 in the Green
    Day 24: Wed, 4/28: 131.9 - That was really nice to see this morning. 867 in the green
    Day 25: Thurs, 4/29: 132.2 - Planning on having something a bit more indulgent tonight after work. 570 in the Green
    Day 26: Fri, 4/30: 131.8 - Better. I actually have 2 days off this week, so I will get some meal prep in and lots of outdoor activity. 290 in the Green
    Day 27: Sat, 5/1: 131.6 - Wasn't really that "good" yesterday, but did keep within my calories 1133 in the Green

    Day 28: Sun, 5/2: 133.0 - Really? Sticking with it even though I am pretty much back up to my start weight today. 812 in the Green
    Day 29: Mon, 5/3: 132.2 - Later dinner because of a split shift yesterday, but back to normal for the rest of the week. 428 in the Green
    Day 30: Tues, 5/4: 132.4 - Planning to stay "good" until at least Thursday. I know that it takes awhile for that "good" lifestyle to show up on the scale. 123 in the Green
    Day 31: Wed, 5/5: 132.8 - Poor food choices yesterday. Stayed within calories, but barely. 861 in the Green
    Day 32: Thurs, 5/6: 132.0 - That is better. 496 in the Green
    Day 33: Fri, 5/7: 131.3 - Another weird food choice day. I stayed within calories. Vaccine day 102 in the Green
    Day 34: Sat, 5/8: 133.8 - Ouch. I will try to get lots of activity in today. 603 in the Green

    Day 35: Sun, 5/9: 134.3 - Way too high, hoping it is just a fluke. 811 in the Green
    Day 36: Mon, 5/10: 133.2 - Busy week, going to make sure to stay on track. 691 in the Green
    Day 37: Tues, 5/11: 133.8 - Still putting in the effort, but disappointed with the scale. 453 in the Green
    Day 38: Wed, 5/12: 133.4 - Kind of gave up a little last night, poor food choices even though still within calories. I need to make sure that nutrition is the most important thing. 453 in the Green
    Day 39: Thurs, 5/13: 133.2 - Almost back to my start weight of 39 days ago. I have hit those 131s a few times and was hopeful. 674 in the Green
    Day 40: Fri, 5/14: 131.3 - I was planning my monthly dose of Ribs tonight, I may postpone that, we'll see. 168 in the Green
    Day 41: Sat, 5/15: 132.1 - Down one pound in 41 days 1150 in the Green

    Day 43: Mon, 5/17: 132.8 - Not sure why the gain, I have been on point. The next 3 weeks will be challenging adding in this extra training for an additional job. 9-5 today and then will pretty much need to eat and go straight to bed for my 2:30 alarm clock tomorrow. 434 in the Green
    Day 44: Tues, 5/18: 133.1 - 2:30am weigh in. Maybe on the weekend I will weigh way less : - ) 938 in the Green
    Day 45: Wed, 5/19: 131.9 - Happy to see this number. I am awake a bit longer getting up so early for the newest job, but somehow didn't eat more. 619 in th4e Green
    Day 46: Thurs, 5/20: 132.7 - Needing a good BM, the new schedule is wreaking a bit of havoc with my guts. I have never had an issue in this area before. 929 in the Green
    Day 47: Fri, 5/21: 130.1 - New low, yay! I didn't keep that extra job that had me waking up (and weighing) at 2:30am. Weighed at 7:30 this morning so got these great results. I expect it will jump around, as it does. Plus, I haven't had my Ribs yet this month. 748 in the RED
    Day 48: Sat, 5/22: 132.0 - My monthly Ribs last night. Kind of worth the gain, delicious. 731 in the Green

    I really only make soups/stews in the fall when I harvest my garden, but love seeing your recipes.
    Cool that there is Jicama as an option. I have never actually cooked Jicama, but I use it raw in a Mexican Corn Salad.

    Day 30 – 05/04 …..206.6….. I am traveling today for a bone scan. Found a new kitty in the woods next to my yard day before yesterday. I am trying to find an owner on Facebook but no hits yet. I hope I get to keep her. I’ve already named her Pebbles. She is a sweet young thing.
    Day 31 – 05/05 …..208.8….. Crazy ridiculous but I checked it 3 times. Yesterday was little movement due to travel. No breakfast, no lunch and only half my restaurant dinner. But I did eat a mile high slice of cheesecake (that’s why I gave away half my dinner). The numbers don’t add up, hopefully better tomorrow.
    Day 32 – 05/06 …..208.6….. I wish it had went down more.
    Day 33 – 05/07 …..208.6….. Some things were right (meals), some things were wrong (snacks) and some things indifferent (activity due to rain). I did work a bit on all 3 though. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
    Day 34 – 05/08 …..208.6….. Three days in a row! Pushing water today and more movement. So far a pretty day but cold. No rain finally after about 4 days of it. I plan to get out a bit more.
    Day 35 – 05/09 …..208.8….. Pasta.
    Day 36 – 05/10 …..208.8….. My 61st birthday. I was hoping to gift myself a better number on the scale but there’s no reason my self-gift can’t be late, right? I had a dinner that was very very late last night and the choices were not the greatest due to Mother’s Day eating earlier in the day. I will be celebrating my birthday next Sunday with my kids so today I will gift myself a low cal day. Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes!
    Day 37 – 05/11 …..208.8….. I had a doctor appointment today. To say she whipped my *kitten* was an understatement. I’m talking about my glucose numbers. That left no time to even talk about my weight! I deserved the whippin’. It’s serious stuff and I’ve got to do better more consistently.
    Day 38 – 05/12 …..208.4….. I’m feeling so good I am going to celebrate the (nearly) half pound loss by dancing to a fitness marshall song (When you call me seniorita). That is a much better reward than a piece of chocolate! Yes, treating myself to a gift of music and movement is a great idea!
    Day 39 – 05/13 …..207.4….. Tried some Intermittent Fasting again yesterday. A bit of a glucose drop but with it running high it was not an emergency. I handled the feelings well with something light to stop the symptoms without further raising my levels. A pound down today folks! Happy as a lamb!
    Day 40 – 05/14 …..207.4….. Intermittent Fasting Day 2 yesterday. It was a bit tougher but I persisted. My daughter and DGS age 3 ½ moved back in yesterday. I am worried about my diet while they are here. Due to my son’s autism, we already cook two different types of meals each meal as he has sensitivity and eating disorders. This would make 3 types per meal. I already feel exhausted and I hope I don’t cave in to what they are having. I’ve got to stick to my guns! If meals are shared, I MUST REMEMBER portion control. This is just another challenge for me and all the answers seem simple on paper. However, in reality, this is going to be difficult.
    Day 41 – 05/15…..206.6….. I like the way my fat percentages are going down. So encouraging! A pretty good day yesterday. My daughter and DGS were not home during the dinner hour so I didn’t have any major temptations. That means that I’m not any stronger yet really, but I was smarter yesterday, at least.
    Day 42 – 05/16 …..206.6….. A Wonderful day of rest yesterday as my daughter and DGS stayed the evening and night with her girlfriend. I kept my diet about perfect but not much movement. Just rest that I badly needed from not sleeping the night before. Spa day today as a delayed birthday celebration. Yay!
    Day 43 – 05/17 …..206.8….. After 3 celebration days this week, I am happy to be maintaining. Hopefully nothing will “catch up to me” in the coming days and the progress will continue. No IF yesterday on spa day, but I will get back at it today.
    Day 44 – 05/18 …..206.8….. My daughter brought me in butter pecan gelato last night. Ugh! Bad influence. I ate it and am grateful that I had made a very low calorie and low carb dinner for us both! I am hoping for a good day today. I must stay strong! I’ll have a talk with her today!
    Day 45 – 05/19 …..206.6….. A much better day today where I practiced some portion control. I am trying to break the habit of eating quantities I have been used to in the past regarless of my hunger level. I ate about half the usual amount and was totally satisfied. Having a lot of protein involved helped with the portion control this time.
    Day 46 – 05/20 …..209.6…… It seems IMPOSSIBLE! I suspect sodium.
    Day 47 – 05/21 .….209.6…… Extra water. Peed all night but no budge on the scale. I did have leftover soup for lunch. Freezing the rest today.
    Day 48 – 05/22 …..209.6…… Stuck
    Day 49 – 05/23 …..210.8…… 2 pcs of banana nut bread with choco chips (not both pieces at the same time). The carbs really need to go. Can I manage that with my daughter and DGS here? It feels like an uphill battle.

    Thanks for the soup recipe. I will put it in my files and try it for sure. Right now, no more soup. A little tired of it LOL. The leftovers are now safely in my freeezer LOL. I appreciate that your recipe is lower carb.

    Day 27 –05/01 …..213.8….. Woke up ready to kill the beginning of this challenge, even tho I started a month late, I'm ready to shred it! Spent most of the day studying and decluttering our downstairs. Added in a 3.75km walk with my pup.

    Day 29 – 05/03 …..213.6….. No change this morning.  It's Monday! Working all day and more studying. If I have the energy later I will throw in a work out DVD, since there is rain in the forecast.
    Day 30 – 05/04 …..214.0….. not liking the small gain but I am not worried,  I have been eating healthy and staying on track. One of these days I will be in oneder land and will forget about this small struggle 💪🏽.

    Day 33 – 05/07 …..214….. I knew the numbers would rise after lastnight,  even tho I stayed under my calories, I believe it is water weight from the salt I consumed.  Today has been a good day tho, hopefully it will help bring things back down.
    Day 34 – 05/08 …..212.6….. Starting off a new week with a 1.2lb loss. Wish it was more, like last week where I dropped almost 6lbs. Need to get my body moving more and drink more water!

    I really only make soups/stews in the fall when I harvest my garden, but love seeing your recipes.
    Cool that there is Jicama as an option. I have never actually cooked Jicama, but I use it raw in a Mexican Corn Salad.

    BTW, how does one add/use BBCode (like changing the colour of the text)?

    @dawnbgethealthy - I make soups usually on Wednesday and then use them for lunch sometime during the week when I'm running behind or freeze them for later. I use to make them only when it was cold outside but now I'm finding lots of options and new recipes ... and for the convenience I'm making them this summer too!

    Thanks for the soup recipe. I will put it in my files and try it for sure. Right now, no more soup. A little tired of it LOL. The leftovers are now safely in my freeezer LOL. I appreciate that your recipe is lower carb.

    This is my 6th round on this thread: Round 1 loss 3.7, Round 2 loss 2.7, Round 3 loss 8.9, Round 4 loss 4.0
    19.3 total loss over 4 rounds, 400 days. Round 5 loss 4.6.
    23.9 pound loss over 500 days.
    I always reach for a 10 pound loss each 100 even though that hasn't happened.
    I keep track of calories left over at the end of each day, in the Green on the MFP tracker. My aim is 500+ average calories in the Green each day (deficit) - this would lead to a 5lb loss over 100 days.

    Day 1: Mon, 4/5: 133.1 - I actually dnw, I am using my EW from the last round. 1049 in the Green
    Day 2: Tues, 4/6: 134.3 - Ouch. 607 in the Green
    Day 3: Wed, 4/7: 133.7 - Completely on track. I am starting to wonder if the daily skating for 2 weeks developed me some heavier quads and glutes. 844 in the Green
    Day 4: Thurs, 4/8: 132.6 - Saw 131.XX many times in the last 100, trying to get there and beyond. 536 in the Green
    Day 5: Fri, 4/9: 133.2 - Extremely early weigh-in, 3am. My schedule is out of wack right now. 516 in the Green

    Day 12: Fri, 4/16: 131.5 - Lowest so far on this journey, fluctuations may happen, but touching it for the first time feels great. 7 in the Green
    Day 13: Sat, 4/17: 133.3 - Delicious Ribs last night. Honey Garlic variety this time. Kind of worth the almost 2 pound gain, and expected. I will work it off over the next week. I will have Ribs again in the month of May : - ) Hours of yard work/gardening on the schedule for today on top of Fitness Marshall workouts throughout the day. 865 in the Green



    Day 14: Sun, 4/18: 133.1 - Hoping to work the Ribs off over the next few days. I used to have them each week instead of each month. I see why it was impossible for me to take weight off back then. Once per month is enough : - ) 698 in the Green

    Day 18: Thurs, 4/22: 133.1. I am going to give myself a break after work tonight for the next 2 days and indulge slightly. I will just have to deal with the consequences. I have been going at breakneck pace this week on the work front. 283 in the Green
    Day 19: Fri, 4/23: 132.4 - Surprising, because I had appies for dinner: spinach artichoke bites, boneless dry garlic pork, and the like. Calories in and out were on point though. Veered away from my usual chicken breast with 4 veggies and a bit of rice. 893 in the Green
    Day 20: Sat, 4/24: 133.5 - I repeated the eating behaviour, so expected this. I needed a break and my weight wasn't changing anyway. Meal prepping today, my day off. 646 in the Green

    So hard to avoid carbs, fruits and vegetables are carbs.
    I am the opposite, my carbs are usually too low, but fats are through the roof.
    I think that active people need carbs, but I suppose that they need to be the right kind of carbs. Activity burns carbs.
    Could gluten be your issue?
    You have been doing so well, I hope that you get it figured out. Really hard with your daughter and DGS living with you, but you might have to put yourself and your health goals first so that you are around for them for a very long time.

    Day 31 – 05/05 …..208.8….. Crazy ridiculous but I checked it 3 times. Yesterday was little movement due to travel. No breakfast, no lunch and only half my restaurant dinner. But I did eat a mile high slice of cheesecake (that’s why I gave away half my dinner). The numbers don’t add up, hopefully better tomorrow.
    Day 32 – 05/06 …..208.6….. I wish it had went down more.
    Day 33 – 05/07 …..208.6….. Some things were right (meals), some things were wrong (snacks) and some things indifferent (activity due to rain). I did work a bit on all 3 though. Hopefully tomorrow will be better.
    Day 34 – 05/08 …..208.6….. Three days in a row! Pushing water today and more movement. So far a pretty day but cold. No rain finally after about 4 days of it. I plan to get out a bit more.

    Day 36 – 05/10 …..208.8….. My 61st birthday. I was hoping to gift myself a better number on the scale but there’s no reason my self-gift can’t be late, right? I had a dinner that was very very late last night and the choices were not the greatest due to Mother’s Day eating earlier in the day. I will be celebrating my birthday next Sunday with my kids so today I will gift myself a low cal day. Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes!
    Day 37 – 05/11 …..208.8….. I had a doctor appointment today. To say she whipped my *kitten* was an understatement. I’m talking about my glucose numbers. That left no time to even talk about my weight! I deserved the whippin’. It’s serious stuff and I’ve got to do better more consistently.
    Day 38 – 05/12 …..208.4….. I’m feeling so good I am going to celebrate the (nearly) half pound loss by dancing to a fitness marshall song (When you call me seniorita). That is a much better reward than a piece of chocolate! Yes, treating myself to a gift of music and movement is a great idea!
    Day 39 – 05/13 …..207.4….. Tried some Intermittent Fasting again yesterday. A bit of a glucose drop but with it running high it was not an emergency. I handled the feelings well with something light to stop the symptoms without further raising my levels. A pound down today folks! Happy as a lamb!
    Day 40 – 05/14 …..207.4….. Intermittent Fasting Day 2 yesterday. It was a bit tougher but I persisted. My daughter and DGS age 3 ½ moved back in yesterday. I am worried about my diet while they are here. Due to my son’s autism, we already cook two different types of meals each meal as he has sensitivity and eating disorders. This would make 3 types per meal. I already feel exhausted and I hope I don’t cave in to what they are having. I’ve got to stick to my guns! If meals are shared, I MUST REMEMBER portion control. This is just another challenge for me and all the answers seem simple on paper. However, in reality, this is going to be difficult.
    Day 41 – 05/15…..206.6….. I like the way my fat percentages are going down. So encouraging! A pretty good day yesterday. My daughter and DGS were not home during the dinner hour so I didn’t have any major temptations. That means that I’m not any stronger yet really, but I was smarter yesterday, at least.
    Day 42 – 05/16 …..206.6….. A Wonderful day of rest yesterday as my daughter and DGS stayed the evening and night with her girlfriend. I kept my diet about perfect but not much movement. Just rest that I badly needed from not sleeping the night before. Spa day today as a delayed birthday celebration. Yay!
    Day 43 – 05/17 …..206.8….. After 3 celebration days this week, I am happy to be maintaining. Hopefully nothing will “catch up to me” in the coming days and the progress will continue. No IF yesterday on spa day, but I will get back at it today.
    Day 44 – 05/18 …..206.8….. My daughter brought me in butter pecan gelato last night. Ugh! Bad influence. I ate it and am grateful that I had made a very low calorie and low carb dinner for us both! I am hoping for a good day today. I must stay strong! I’ll have a talk with her today!

I am trying to break the habit of eating quantities I have been used to in the past regarless of my hunger level. I ate about half the usual amount and was totally satisfied. Having a lot of protein involved helped with the portion control this time.
    Day 46 – 05/20 …..209.6…… It seems IMPOSSIBLE! I suspect sodium.
    Day 47 – 05/21 .….209.6…… Extra water. Peed all night but no budge on the scale. I did have leftover soup for lunch. Freezing the rest today.

    Back to accountability. I did not journal my food over the last 3 days ... only my alcohol consumption. Weight is up ... no wonder! No walking, little diet and lots of stress. Time to turn it back around.

After dropping off DD’s dogs DH and I went out for dinner Ragin Cajun … yummy fried shrimp but switched the french fries out for grilled veggies. I avoided eating what DH & I usually get shrimp poboy and shrimp & crab gumbo which both of those are loaded with carbs.

    Almost back to the 206.x but not quite. Definitely snacking throughout the day which is killing my weighloss, along with added calories in alcohol. Need to get out of this funk and back to what I know works.
