05/23 …..210.8 ….. Banana nut bread with choco chips. I went back for another piece last night. The carbs really need to go but I just don’t know how to swing that with my daughter and DGS here. I’ve got to get this figured out and get moving on something before my next doctor appointment or I’ll be put on insulin shots! I’ve got to let that be my inspiration right now!

Congrats on making it through the treatment with such courage! I am also on a 10 year medication that supresses estrogen and protects me against recurrance. I have been on it for several years and weight is a side effect for sure. That is hard to overcome, but cancer is harder. I am really struggling right now for many reasons but I know we can do this, even with the extra challenges! I support you 100% and am here if you ever need me.7 -

My approach: Move and lift more, keep track of my food, and drink lots of water.
5/22: 300.2 - Newbie here. And holy cow, this is the heaviest I've ever been. Not only have I gained unnecessary weight, but I haven't been accomplishing things inside and outside the home like I have in the past. The garage is turning into a disaster, dishes piling up, etc. Today is the day I turn around and actively update the foods I eat and the exercises I do. My favorite quote for the day: “Most things in life are not so difficult. You just have to work to keep them simple. If you’re truly determined, there is no limit to what you can accomplish.”
5/23: 298.6 - Down 1.6 pounds. Water weight for sure but I'll take any win. I stuck with eating veggies, chicken, and some other meats. I was craving something sugary and carby around 6pm and I must admit, it was a struggle. I was able to do a lot of things around the house like install shower doors and clean throughout the house, just like I was hoping. Things are looking positive and I'm excited for that.

5/22: 169.5 up a bit today compared to yesterday. Working on following a 20:4 fasting program. Finished a 20 minute Bowflex workout last night. Should have done my race training but I bailed on that last night and went to dinner with my mother.
5/23: 169.3 down by .2 I was happily surprised. Yesterday I gave myself a little leniency on tracking food. We had a party with family and I was the one to make the dessert. I made it to day 7 of a 30 day plank challenge which I'm super happy about.

Recent Back Story:- 2018 goal: get back down to 160 ✅
- 2019 goal: proceed down to 150 ✅ with 2 months to spare
- 2020 goal: maintain below 150 dropping slowly down to 145 ✅ Strength training has slowed progress, but that’s okay.
- That's a WIN in my book!

- Focus: maintenance! I might even manage to lose a bit more ever so slowly.
- (One good thing about Covid is that I don't have to traverse the minefield of family celebration meals.)

THERE ARE NO QUICK FIXES OR SHORTCUTS to achieving permanent change.
REMINDERS: One or two thoughts which might give heart to some of you.Stick with the process. It DOES work! But it does take time, effort, and most of all, patience!- Daily weight fluctuations are normal, and can be as much as 2 lbs a day for no apparent reason.
- A general downward trend is what we are looking for.
- Eating out can cause apparent weight gain because of high sodium levels, but usually goes quickly. Drinking extra water helps with this.
- The human body does not react instantly to what we do to it. Sometimes it can take several days to see results.
- Plateaus are a normal part of the process. The body is consolidating and adapting to your new way of eating/exercising.
- The closer you get to your goal weight, the more difficult it becomes to lose weight, as your body becomes more efficient at using what you feed it.
- When you exercise you build muscle, which takes up less space than fat, so use measurements as well as weight to assess your progress.
- Getting/Staying fit and healthy requires a lifestyle change for most people.

5/23 177.6 - I took my dog for a long walk in the morning, did a full-body strength workout, and then ran some errands I didn’t get to yesterday. We did eat out for lunch because we didn’t have anything ready for us at home and the weather was so gorgeous outside we wanted to enjoy it for a little bit.
