This week's successes: I actually did an at-home work out last week. I really need to start following a program, though. I’m thinking Stronglifts 5x5 or I might try Caroline Girvan’s EPIC. I also went camping on the weekend, which was fun! I walked 25,000 steps on Saturday.

This week's challenges: I am back to working in the lab this week, so I need to make sure I’m getting enough sleep and actually making time for workouts. I also need to do some meal prep so I actually have lunches to bring!

Week 20. Lost boy returning to One-derland.
The last entry I posted was for week three. Something came up, then something else, before I knew it, 17 weeks had passed. While I’ve enjoyed my brief respite, it wasn’t kind to my waistline and I gained back weight I’d lost, peaking back above 200 pounds. I want to get back under 200 and get in shape for the summer. After losing 50 pounds last year, I’m sure I can drop this last 35 pounds using the same healthy approach.

    Starting weight 1/1/2021: 192 lbs
    Goal weight: 165 lbs
    Current Weight: 200 lbs
    Change: +8 lbs
    Challenge weight lost: +8 lbs

    This Week’s Successes:

None. Just starting back into it.

    This Week’s Challenges:
Logging food intake and tracking my workouts. Resuming workouts. Dietary restriction (no grains, dairy, or processed sugar).

I was quite disciplined in tracking my diet and reporting my status last year, so it should be easy to get back into the routine. Looking forward to that first 10 pounds falling off easily before it starts getting more difficult. I found my success came from being honest, accountable, and focused on my goal. This approach let me shed the weight last year and I’m certain it will work again. Glad there was a group to come back to and it looks like I’ve got some catching up to do as you’ve all done well. See you next week!
