Yaaaay it is some of the few days each month when the scale weight actually drops! Looking forward to see where it ends up in the next few days.

Back below 200 again soon! I hpe you are feeling excited.
It can be not so much fun the second time passing these milestones. I'm back to almost having lost 100 pound again....I was here at the end of December and have been on a rollercoaster ride since. This morning I realized I was a pound away but felt nothing like I felt last time around - just a grim expression crossed my face.
That was not good. It wasn't the kind of thing that inspires. So I'm trying to remember that I'm still here and still going is what really counts.
Glad you are still here and still going too!

Thanks! And you are exactly right about those milestones. It is so frustrating to think of what I'm losing now, and what my weight could have been if I hadn't gained it back. I try not to focus on that too much, because it is really disheartening. I also think of breaking the 200 mark, and am definitely not excited like I was the first time around. I'll be excited when the numbers are new again.
But, I've also been trying to focus on the good parts. Definitely in the past I'd probably have given up after a regain like that, feeling like it was just too hard or not meant to be. It took me a while, but I caught my regain before it got too too bad, I'm back logging and hitting my calories and feeling great, I'm not hungry, and most importantly, it is currently feeling pretty easy and sustainable. If I hadn't caught the regain at all, my weight would still probably have been going back up. Continuing to be here and log is 100% enough. Even when it doesn't feel like it.
We're still here! Congrats to re-reaching big milestones...it is better than the alternative! 🥂3 -

I started my new journey on June 1st. I successfully lost 30 pounds about 10 years ago, but I have gained all of that back and more. I am the heaviest that I have ever been and I'm ready for a change. My official weigh-ins will be on Fridays.

These are the painful words that we all know.
You sound clear and ready to change your life now. I like the clarity of the numbers section of your post. It feels so good to have a spot of tidiness and control in this messy experience of weight loss and management.
This group is a good place to be. There are seasoned members who are focussed on how to make weight loss work for a lifetime. And that is the biggest challenge of them all. I feel very lucky to be in a spot where I can pick up on the wisdom they share. Because I am a darned slow learner and need it knocked into my head a hundred times or so before it gets deep enough to alter my behaviour.3 -
Little progress this week. At least in the right direction though.

I have re-reached 50 lbs lost! I'm feeling good, and it is nice to see progress. I aim for a 1 lb a week loss, but am quite happy at the 1.5 lb rate I'm currently doing. I don't feel hungry, tired, or deprived, and the extra walking helps a lot without making me super hungry.
Feeling hopeful! I currently don't have an end goal weight in mind (first goal will be out of obese and into overweight). But we've decided to try and get pregnant next spring, and I want my weight to be as low as (reasonably, healthily) possible before then. A pound a week could be as much as 32 more down by then, or if the pound and a half loss continues to feel good, 45 lbs??? If Icould start my pregnancy as overweight and not obese, I'd be delighted.6 -
Great progress this week.
I'm now exactly 40 kilos away from a "normal" BMI.
Coming close to a good milestone, 70kg overall loss.
Passed the 150lb lost milestone.

I think I have bottomed out on scale weight for the month. The water retention cycle now starts anew, so I won't update for another few weeks until I have another new low. I'm really happy with my progress so far. A steady drop of about 1.5 lb/week, lots of energy, no hunger. I've been getting in plenty of easy exercise (almost daily walks, 10-15 mile bike rides 2-3 times a week). I gotta say, after just a week of even more plant-based foods, I feel pretty full a lot of the time. I guess there is something to all that fiber!
One pound to go until my BMI is below 35 and I'm back in the lowest obesity category!5 -
Both of you are amazing!…congratulations!3

Just an example for anyone worried about water weight gains. I think we are all pretty solid on water weight here compared to threads in the main forum, but I certainly always appreciate the reminders.
After my low weight of 204.5, I woke up at 208.8 this morning. Yesterday was my best friend's birthday, and I went a little (ha) overboard with food. Did I actually gain 4.3 lbs of fat? Absolutely not.
Even though I was ate more than 1000 calories above maintenance, I certainly did not eat the 15,000 calories above to cause 4.3 lbs of fat gain. I also did not even eat the 3500 above maintenance to cause 1 lb of fat gain. And since I've been at a deficit all week (~500 calories a day, 3500/week), I may have slowed down or negated my weight loss for the week, but I certainly did not GAIN any weight.
In addition, we ate out and had cheese. Lots. Of. Salt. So much water retention, not to mention just the weight of the food I ate that is still digesting. I've already on my 4th quart of water today (not forcing it, just drinking to my thirst). When the water weight drops, I'm going to be in the bathroom constantly lol.
Finally, I walked a lot more than normal yesterday. I did my usual 2-3 mile walk in the morning and then proceeded to walk another 4 miles around the city with my friend. (More water retention). In the heat. (Even more water retention).
I can tell I'm a bit bloated today by how my rings fit. It'll probably be a while before I see the water weight drop off, given where I am in my cycle. But I fully still expect to see a new low next month, probably around 200-201 or so (assuming I stay on track for the rest of the month!)
