@trooworld Good for you for not buying those sugar-free Reeses! Those would totally be a trigger for me too. The body really doesn’t know the difference between real or fake sugar so if we give it sweet, it will trigger us to eat more. This is why I don’t make a lot of low-carb desserts. I hope you have fun at the event and meet some fun people! :)

@cbabie Sorry that you have been under so much stress. That is not a good way to lose weight! <3

@theslightedgeforever I still have my Advantage Response card on my WHY that I want to lose weight. It really is a great exercise to read the card and focus on each entry. I'm going to read it more often! I’m not sure what group you are referring to? The one I help run on MFP is the Fat2Fit challenge group. I’m blessed to have trooworld as one of my team’s motivators.

Hello! Not much going on today. I did a leg workout and upped my weights so that was good. One of the women on my Fat2Fit group told me about this website called Recipe Keeper. It’s amazing and I’ve already bought the pro version so I can store unlimited recipes. It even lets me menu plan for the week. It’s really going to help me organize get away from my out-of-control Pinterest food boards. :D I’m on day four of the DDF challenge and so far, I’m loving it. I got my first trigger, which is 85 mg/dL and now the goal is to not eat until it’s at that number or below. Last evening it was at 93 before dinner so I went for a 10-minute stroll on my treadmill, and it dropped to 79. This morning it was at 94 after lifting weights, which can happen. I like it because it keeps me mindful to not snack and the importance of eating enough protein to stay satiated. The app for the program will lower my trigger at some point. Reminds me of when I was doing WW and my points would drop. On the one hand, it was a good thing and on the other it was terrifying. :D

@theslightedgeforever It tastes close enough to the real thing to be satisfying, trust me! That's a good idea to limit your minis to green days. I did repeat! :) Sort of...more below. I wore something semi-artsy: a pair of gray jeans with a pair of cool tennis shoes (black and white Vans), a gray t-shirt with an art nouveau style lady on it, and a black leather jacket. It was fun.

@TeresaW1020 Yes! I did have fun. I use a paid site to keep my recipes, too, it's called Plan to Eat. I've used it for about 4 years now. I'm glad you found something you like! That's good that your new system is keeping you from snacking.

HI all. I did well at work yesterday, no snacking, but I did eat lunch in the cafe only because my manager asked me to go to lunch with her. I had a sandwich and chips. I'm not mad. I had a great time last night even though it really provoked my anxiety. I had to give a speech about how I got into art and about my piece! I saw an acquaintance there and exchanged contact information, we might do some art together. And I met some cool people if only to just say I like your piece. I look forward to Saturday's opening.

@teresaw1020 Yes, Fat2Fit. That's the one. Sparkpeople is closing down and I know some people have moved over to MFP. Out of control Pinterest boards. :D I have my "recipes to try" sorted by category now. Still don't try very many it seems. Most are yummy desserts. I'm thinking once a month. I love to bake and like doing a job well done and then enjoying the fruits of my labor. I'm eating the real thing. I don't like fake desserts. How many times do you have to test daily? I'm just thinking of the cost of the strips. lol The good news about this program is that it will make you do little 10 min exercise things here and there.

@trooworld The outfit sounds spot on. You sound on top of the world right now. Which is so important to mental health and our eating. Expanding your people group will also help although occasionally that comes with food choices. But it can be done. I do better when I'm with people than I do at home alone.

I went to PT yesterday and did some weights and some bike/elliptical

Morning all, Went for a walk yesterday with baby girl, went a little over in my food, but only minimal. I have been trying to do this Bible study and read more...I know thats less active, but it also does away with my anxiety..(takes my mind somewhere else) LOL

@trooworld your night sounds great..so glad you got to go and you had fun. Your outfit sounds really cute. Great job on staying on plan...even with your attitude in regards to the lunch with your boss. YEA..I tell you our thoughts and emotions can own us..LOL

@theslightedgeforever I don't think I could keep minis here...I have no self control on those things...Great job on how you keep yourself encouraged and moving forward.

@TeresaW1020 I agree with you on when my WW points would drop...I was like NO....I was just getting these down. LOL. So glad the new program is working and you are learning more about yourself..keep going!!

@theslightedgeforever I guess I am on top of the world right now! I think I do better with people, too. How's the knee? I've had some problems with mine but acupuncture helps mine.

@cbabie It sounds like a good trade-off, less anxiety and more peace. Thanks, I had fun. You are right about thoughts and emotions!!!

Hello all. Yesterday was kind of a lousy day: I had to go back to the dentist and start the process of getting a crown and a filling. They ended up having to laser away some of my gums! I thought my gums would be sore afterward but they haven't been. I ate tortellini for lunch and dinner because I wanted something soft. In other news, we are finally getting one of the two windows fixed (they were leaking as of Nov 2019 if you remember). This is the one we are responsible for, the other one is the HOA's responsibility and they are slacking. The company that we hired is going to take measurements tomorrow and then replace the window in the end of July. I'll be glad to get it done and maybe it will spur the HOA into fixing the other window.

Morning all, I did lousy yesterday..I was over in my eating (late night stress) and didn't exercise. It is getting so hot here, today we have a Excessive Heat Warning..but I will take that vs Excessive cold warning..or cold anything..LOL I know what the triggers were and should have just went to bed and stayed there..LOL

@trooworld Glad you are getting the window fixed..yea HOA..so glad I don't have one. We have lived here 30 years and luckily it wasn't like it is now. I am sorry you had a lousy day and it's a plus though that your gums don't hurt. I agree with slightedge...you sound so happy when you talk about your photos/art!!

@theslightedgeforever went to PT? hows you knee now? See you aren't always like dad..LOL

@cbabie Yaaaay on your exercise. Whatever works to take your reduce your anxiety so you eat less. On days to move more, how about listening to an audio version of the Bible. You can even record your thoughts on the subject on your phone. There are days when we just need to sit and "be" and some days we don't. You said, "I have no self control on those things." Yes you do. This sabotaging thought is what you are choosing to tell yourself though. So it's good to speak back to those thoughts. Yes I do have control over these. I'm choosing right now to not eat any. You could even add, I'll have one tomorrow after lunch. Although by tomorrow you may not want any. If you were a smoker and you were trying to quit but your husband smoked the same brand as you what would you tell yourself? Temptation is the same no matter what. It's we tell ourselves and then our brain starts saying things like, It's just one. It's a miniature too. You could have eaten a regular size one but you didn't. It's not that bad. But then you do eat it and then later your brain says, Oh that was good. One more isn't going to hurt. It's still less calories than if you had a regular pack. It's okay. Go ahead. So you do. Then you feel bad and you say see? I have no self control over those things. So the first time you hear that phrase, stop it in it's track. It will be persistent though so you need to repeat like a robot and find a distraction. You are stronger than you think. Read my post to trooworld about my knee.

@trooworld My knee is almost good but still have problems getting up and down off the floor on that side. So I'm still working on that. It's hard to do child pose. Too much pain right on the kneecap. So she said don't do that right now and still work on the stretching and the building of the muscles around it. Ouch on the dentist. My gums actually hurt when I read that. Hopefully HOA will fix the other. It's a shame you have to pay and they aren't very good.

I'm headed to a surprise bday dinner tomorrow at a Japanese restaurant. :| I have looked over the menu to see what I can eat because not liking Japanese, it won't be much. lol I'm switching my yellow day to my green day from Saturday. I have preplanned all my food for tomorrow. I'm ordering miso soup, chicken fried rice, a strawberry mohito and I've saved carbs for the bday cake. I think it will be red velvet since that is one of the choices there. I still have 39 carbs left to play with just in case.

@theslightedgeforever I was once on Sparkpeople years ago. I’m sure MFP will see a boost in new members. I have a couple of Pinterest boards dedicated to yummy desserts and one chocolate board that is really just glorified food porn. :D The first three days of the program, I would test my blood when I first woke up, before meals, and one to two hours after a meal. So, I was doing it five times. I have dropped the waking BG test since that is just personal data. What the program cares about is the before-meal BG, which needs to be at or below the trigger I was given. After a meal is also just data but it’s good to see what foods my body likes and doesn’t like. And yes, it can get pricey! I get so mad when I don’t give the test strip enough blood and I get an error message and have to do it again. :# Have fun at the bday dinner! :)

@cbabie The new program is motivating for sure and I’m hopeful it’s something that will work for me. That is great that you are doing Bible studies and feeling less anxiety, which is just as important if not more so than exercise.
I hope your days will get better! <3

@trooworld Bummer about the dental procedure on your gums but glad it didn’t cause you pain. That is good that you are getting the window done. What is up with HOA’s and not doing what they should do? They certainly would harass you if you didn’t send in your HOA fees wouldn’t they? :|

Hello! Not much has been going here. I’m still stabbing my fingers with needles and trying to get the scale to go down. I went and looked at my data and I’m the same weight today as I was at the end of March. So that is frustrating!! The good news is that while the scale hasn’t moved down my body has leaned out. This morning I wore a T-shirt that had felt too snug for my liking and now it fits perfectly. So, I’m happy, but we all know that seeing the scale down is still important and I need to do the work to make it happen! OK, I’m off to take DH to the eye doctor since he will probably get his eyes dilated. B)

@cbabie It's supposed to heat up here, too. I'm not looking forward to it but at the same time, I feel like you do, I'd rather have heat than too cold lol. You'll do better today. Yeah, it's time to fix that window before the rainy season comes back. I am really happy when I talk about art! :)

@theslightedgeforever I'm glad your knee is getting better. Yeah, the dental stuff sounds worse than it was lol. Yes, our HOA is really lame. I hope you have fun at the birthday dinner, that was smart to look at the menu ahead of time!

@TeresaW1020 Yes, I'm glad for no pain, too! It hurts a bit when I brush my teeth and use my Waterpik, but other than that, I'm good. The HOA keeps saying that because of the freaking pandemic, things are slower and at first, they were going to have to kick the people above us out for a few weeks and put them in a hotel and those people didn't want to do that because of the freaking pandemic. Then they came up with a grand plan to not have the people move out and they still just put it off. I'm not sure what the hold-up is now. Yes, they certainly would harass us if we didn't pay our fees! I'm sorry the scale isn't cooperating, especially because you have to stab your finger! Eek! BUT...that's a great victory to be leaning out.

Hello all. I am back on plan. I haven't tracked since Monday but I will track today. BRB...there I just tracked for the day! :) I ordered a new sequin shirt for Saturday's art opening event. I'm going to make it artsy by wearing distressed jeans and combat boots. I have a chunky necklace to go with it. I also ordered a sequin face mask to go with it. I don't know how many people will be wearing their masks since we are so close to the time when we don't have to wear them but someone here just died from COVID even though they had been fully vaccinated so I'm not taking a chance in a crowded art gallery.

Morning all, I did better yesterday, I think I found a way to eat Ice cream that helps me not eat TOO MUCH...LOL. I bought Ice cones for baby girl and she only eats the top part and I eat the bottom part..satisfies the craving..LOL. We went on a bike ride last night so I got 22 min exercise..yea me.

@trooworld I LOVE LOVE LOVE that top and I can "picture" in my mind you in those jeans and boots!!! I am so excited for you..its funny we "accessorize" our masks, they have become a part of our outfit.. I bet you will look great from head to toe!

@TeresaW1020 I flinched just thinking about pricking my fingers all day..LOL. I guess I should keep that in mind when I want sugar and carbs..LOL...sometimes how we look and feel in our clothes is as important or just as important than a number on a scale. You will do this I am sure and I am so glad you saw the positive in your "fit". That's what I call a balanced mindful attitude!! Great JOB!! Yes we want the best of both..LOL My eye Dr did some other kind of test instead of dilating my eyes...I loved it. I can't remember what it was, but I was so happy not to have the dilation!!

@theslightedgeforever I had to laugh at your cigarette example..you know I quit with a HOUSEFUL of smokers and then broke my knee right after that..so YES you are RIGHT again..I will work on my thoughts. I think if I had to go to a Japanese restaurant, I would come home hungry...or just eat all CAKE..LOL Glad you found something you could eat and planned for it.

@teresaw1020 That's great on your body leaning out. Like the Tower of Pisa? :D it's all that exercise you do. Keep it up. Eventually the scale will move.

@trooworld How is your food this week? Have you been eating within your points? Oh yeah, just remembered you didn't track. So what happened there? I'm a heat versus cold person too. My dd lives in MN. She loves the frigid artic weather. Yaaay on tracking. For a moment I forgot we were in a pandemic. (I know, how is that possible) When I read about your mask, I was thinking ooh you're wearing a sexy masquerade mask. lol Then remembered covid. Better safe to wear your mask. Especially a sequined one. I love the shirt. Those are my colors.

@cbabie That's a great ice cream hack. As long as you get the taste and it satisfies you. I don't like the cone part. I remember getting sugar cones as a child and it would leak out the bottom and be all messy. I have a thing with messy foods. I'm surprised you love Troo's top. I figured it would be too flashy for you. Are you turning into Mom after all these years? lol I think controlling our thoughts is most of the battle in being successful for weight loss.

@cbabie I'm glad Thursday was better for you. That's a great idea about the ice cream! I may wear high-heeled booties, I'm not sure. But I'll bring the combat boots in case my feet hurt lol. I hope to look alright lol.

@theslightedgeforever Food was okay this week. The problem has been I didn't track for most of the week until yesterday. But I still lost almost a lb so that's good. I think I was busy with life and then the dental thing happened and threw me for a loop. LOL..hopefully soon we can all forget about it. ;) The shirt looks nice on. Maybe I'll take a picture.

Hello all. Somehow, without tracking and with eating tortellini, I managed to lose 0.6 lbs. I'll take it! Next week, I will track everything. I've got a busy day ahead of me: WW meeting this morning and then picking up groceries, and tonight is the art opening. I gave myself a manicure with fake nails, they are green to match my top tonight!

Morning all, I stayed within calories, but went over my fat % yesterday. Went for another bike ride, so feel better about moving. LOL. I haven't had to order PB in over a month..however, last night I HAD to have some, so I gave in. It had been awhile.

@trooworld I am sure you will look great in either shoe. Or you can wear both and people won't know if your sexy or someone not to mess with or BOTH..LOL. Congrats on the loss...yes I always take even .1..LOL

@theslightedgeforever I still like my conservative look, thank you...but I do venture out now and then. LOL. Yesterday when I was cooking, I thought how good it felt to be in charge of eating healthy..but then I went over in fat grams yesterday..darn PB.. However, I could hear you in my head...NOTHING is off limits, we just choose how much we eat of it. You know if we put you and trooworld in room together would we be able to tell which one was which? LOL. You guys have similar taste.

@cbabie That's great that you stayed within your calories. You are climbing out of the hole! HAHAHAHA! I would walk really funny with one high heel and one pretty flat boot.

Hi all. The art opening was fun. I talked to a lot of people and I met the director of an art gallery that is having a call for entries so I might be exhibiting again very soon. My husband and I went for a drink afterward. It was nice to be out. I'm going to be doing art today after I go to the grocery store (again). Here's a picture of me in my outfit.

@trooworld I’m so happy for you that you had such a good time at the exhibit. I assume you will be entering a different photo. Do you know what you will submit? That top is so stinking cute, and I love the mask too, but I hope you didn’t have to wear it. :)

@cbabie good idea about how to moderate your ice cream! When I had my last eye exam I had some test that I’ve never had before and I didn’t get dilated. Interesting! I will have to tell DH to ask his eye doctor when he goes back for his next exam. You have done so well by staying away from the peanut butter. Did you moderate when you had some? DH has a big jar of my favorite Jiff in the cabinet that I admit to having a couple of small spoonfuls of over the last few weeks. But I try to not think about it or open that side of the cabinet. ;)

@theslightedgeforever My DH’s nickname for me is Pita so you could say that I’m becoming the Tower of Pita instead of Pisa! :D

Hey everyone! Not much going on lately. Just stabbing my finger all day and trying to get my blood sugar numbers to drop so I can eat. I’m still trying to figure it all out, but I’ll get there! My workouts make my number higher than they should be which is a whole thing that I’m learning how to deal with. I laid out today trying to get a tan on my white legs, so I don’t have to use self-tanners. I would like it more if it wasn’t for the sun being so dang hot! :D DH and I just started watching Downton Abbey and we LOVE it!!! Not sure how I went so long ever watching it, but I’m hooked now. <3

@cbabie Thank you! I wore the fancy combat boots (they have an alligator texture to them but are all black). I think it looked nice. :)

@TeresaW1020 I actually will be entering 2 abstract paintings I did. No photos this time around! Yeah I loved the top and the mask. Unfortunately, I did have to wear the mask. The rules are still in place and everyone wore a mask, so I just shut up and wore mine lol. Hopefully at the next one, I won't have to. :) That's weird that your workouts make your blood sugar go up. I haven't laid out to tan in years, I just go pale lol. It was really hot yesterday here and is only supposed to get hotter. I've never watched Downton Abbey but will eventually try it.

Hi all. I did artwork for most of yesterday trying to come up with something I like enough to submit. I made 4 pieces, scrapped 1, and then chose the two pieces from the 3 I kept. I made another piece that I entirely don't plan on submitting, I just made it. I ate okay yesterday, no snacking. I have to go to the job today. Hoping I'll stay out of the vending machines.

Morning all, I didn't do so well yesterday. One of my daughters birthday and of course we had cake...butter cream frosting..YUM. I gained .2 lbs this week, but I know I am on the right track, because as much as I didn't want to, I tracked yesterday! LOL. I went for a swim and rode my bike last night.

@trooworld I bet you looked great in those boots. I am so excited that you submitting artwork you did. How fun!! You are actually enjoying life and see food wasn't even in your fore thought. LOL. I hope you do okay at work today.

@TeresaW1020 I have so many sun spots on my OLD legs now, I just wear nylons..We have a pool, but I rarely get in it...except this year baby girl likes the pool (still needs to learn to swim) so I am getting in the pool, but after the sun is off the water. LOL. I did finally have PB yesterday, it was worth the risk. LOL. I have just decided it's too many fat grams for me and I can't make my self eat it like I used to. I miss it and when I really "have" to have it..I do. I learned that I would just keep eating everything until I did..so better to eat that and move on.. Sorry your DH has that near by. LOL. it's like quitting smoking and you have someone lighting up a cig right next to you. LOL

I didn't realize I missed a couple of days. I thought just one. I had to make a trip to the airport. My youngest son is visiting us for 5 weeks while he's on summer vacation. He likes his new job at the school just because of summers off I think. lol I realized today that one house guest left and now another one is here. Then I'll go on vacation. So I guess the lesson to be learned is how to stick with a program and lose weight while I'm not in my routine. lol I lost 1.1 lbs since last Sunday.

@trooworld Hooray on your weight loss. Little by little makes a big deal after a while. You are beautiful. I loved the smoky eye and the chunky necklace. All of it really. Plus the combat boots. oooh alligator. Very edgy. I'd rather wear a mask and be out at an art gallery than stuck at home not being able to go out.

@cbabie Yaaay on your bike ride. I bet it felt good to move your body. Plus you stayed within your calories.

@teresaw1020 Tower of Pita. Here's some fun pita jokes https://upjoke.com/pita-jokes So how does your program factor in exercise? I would imagine it would have to somehow. Can you factor it in yourself after seeing a pattern and losing some weight? I know tan legs look better but be careful of skin cancer. I never got into Downton Abbey but my dd loved it. Even had to go to the NY exhibit when it came a couple of years ago. Of course I said the same thing about Game of Thrones. I didn't start watching until they were doing the last season and then I started. Loved it.

@trooworld I hope your art is accepted! Yup, not much you can do if the mask rule is still in place. I hope they drop the mandate in your area soon. Especially with summer here! You should watch Downton Abbey. It’s soooo good!!! :)

@cbabie Good for you for tracking everything! Cake and buttercream are a bad combo for me to be around. If I had a pool, I would be in it every day! Yeah, I’m not sure how much longer I’m going to do the laying out thing. Like your sister warned, I don’t want to risk getting anything! :#

@theslightedgeforever Those jokes are funny! But just to clarify, my DH calls me Pita not because I like to eat them but because I’m a Pain In The A** He gave me the nickname on our very first Yahoo Messenger chat, and 16 years later the name is still going strong. Funny story is when we were first together that was the name he gave at Starbucks for my coffee. A year later, I went to work there and had to train the employees that Pita wasn’t my real name. :D My program doesn’t so much factor in exercise, but it does acknowledge that it can raise BG and I do have the option to eat lunch and call it my “main” meal and not test. But then I would have to hit my trigger for dinner. This is something I plan to work on this week.

Hello! Today wasn’t my best. I didn’t feel well most of the day but sucked it up and did my workout. Holy cow Tabata cardio is NO joke! :o Then I went grocery shopping and DH and I went to Lowes to buy new toilet seats for the church’s bathrooms. As the cleaning lady, I decided this was a needed purchase. I also bought some bug spray to help supplement the pest control guy. I’ve had two big spiders in the last couple of weeks and those dudes have GOT to go!! :s
