Getting 10k steps or more (according to FitBit) for about 5 out of 7 days for the last month. Some days it's been much more.
I'll call that a win!21 -
You know how you sometimes buy things and keep them for "when I can finally fit it"? WELL... I have this gorgeous pair of knee boots with heels that I've been holding onto, bought them online, never could zip them because of large calves - but yesterday!, I tried them on and ZIPPED THEM UP WITH JEANS ON. O.M.G. There's even room for a couple fingers! I'm very proud of myself for this.38

My NSV is maintaining my weight since my fitness journey has been paused. In March I ripped the skin off my big toe while walking on the treadmill. The wound didn’t heal until August due to the steroids that I take for my transplants. I developed a strep infection in the bone and am undergoing iv antibiotic treatments for 6 weeks to avoid amputation. Have been unable to exercise since March and have not gained back weight which is huge to me. Doctors tell me even if big toe is amputated that I will still be able to walk and lift some weights with special shoes but I am hoping it doesn’t come to that.42

This is amazing! Well done!8 -

I have a very close friend who has gained about 140 pounds post transplant, and while she has managed to stop gaining, she hasn’t been able to lose any yet. I will tell her about you (of course only referring to you as “a person I read about somewhere”) in the hopes that it will inspire her. Knowing that someone else can make progress post transplant could be very empowering for her.

Today I put on a size medium pair of pants, thinking that I would be in pain all day, but honestly, they were quite comfortable. I was surprised because my weight is actually up a bit.17

I've moved from Class 2 Obesity into Class 1 Obesity.32

I can walk upstairs without needing to hold onto the stair-rail. less weight to drag up.20

@buddharivet I have actually lost weight twice since my kidney/pancreas transplant. The first time I lost 96 lbs. then injured myself and regained 83 back. This second time I have lost 85(8 coming while off my feet) and have maintained.
I think that you are pretty inspiring to your friend after losing half your weight. That is a tremendous achievement.13 -
Ssshhh literally was able ton got in my wife’s pants. I was like WTF!!! 🤣23

I haven't exercised this whole month as I've been ill since 18th September and I rely on exercise to adjust my calorie consumption. The old me would've wrecked my diet with junk food and overeating but I've been good and not really indulged much. I had a pastry on 11 September and after so many days I had a cheat meal for lunch today. I feel super proud and confident that I can control my eating and lose weight and not just rely on heavy exercise but I still miss working out and plan to get back to it when the weakness subsides16

@Frompumpkin2cinderella That is awesome! Great work. I know you will get back to your exercising very soon. Continue to heal and you will be back to normal soon!7

Ha ha I was able to lift myself up onto the ledge of this seating area that is a good foot off the ground as you can see from my dangling feet… And now to jump off 😜. A double NSV moment.25 -
I bought a bra off the rack at a department store! That's something that probably won't impress most people, but it's also something I have never been able to do in my adult life. My band and cup sizes are finally in the range where I don't have to order bras through specialty retailers. I'm also solidly outside of plus sizes for clothes now. It's like a whole new world of style has opened up to me. It's not so great for my wallet, but pretty amazing for my self-confidence.36

Was wearing 38-inch waist pants and they felt tight. Now wearing 36-inch waist pants and have to wear a belt with them. What! Will I be seeing 34-inch waist pants again in my future?29

I know this is kind of a scale victory, but I'm just so happy! I've reached UNDERLAND! Under 200!
The NSV of this victory is that I haven't been tracking calories or working out for almost two weeks. Habits regarding food are sticking even when I'm not active!26 -
Went for annual check up today. Nurse taking my blood: are you a trainer or something?
(Later): uuuh, does your BP usually run, um, really low? Like 90/80?
Dr: Everything looks good, EKG is a little slow but that’s you being an athlete.
Felt a little ridiculous asking what this huge visible lump in my armpit was…it was a muscle insertion point.
Not bad for my 40th birthday checkup!35 -
