What's Your Most Recent NSV

I tried on a T-shirt today that has great emotional significance to me, and it is a size “L”, because that was the only size available at the time (I purchased it at a concert in 2005). And I had worn a 6X when I bought it, so had never, in a million years, had any thought that it would ever actually fit. It was just a souvenir. And I pulled it out of a “maybe when I’m smaller” drawer I had made a couple of years ago and promptly forgotten about, along with a bunch of other nifty stuff, and it totally fit! What makes it an even Bigger NSV is the fact that the last time I was that size, which, because of Vanity Sizing, is a 70’s and 80’s “XL”, was before I started junior high, so I was at maximum, 11 years old! I feel very proud of myself, but this is the first time I haven’t been “fat” since I was 9 years old (I think I’ve mentioned this in other posts), and I’m learning how to just enjoy the ride, but for a while there, it was seriously weirding me out!39

A few hours ago I went out and bought a ready meal for tomorrow as well as a two pack of luxury individual cheesecakes for absolutely no reason. The desserts would have taken me over my calories for today and it was late to eat but not long ago and in most of my past I would have eaten one or both anyway, just for the sake of it.
I realised, even as I was in the store, that I'd just bought them out of habit and some other weird mental or emotional urge but that I wasn't really hungry at all so I pre-logged ONE for tomorrow popped them in the fridge, took my vitamins, had a nice long drink of water and brushed my teeth.
I'm now in bed feeling completely okay and quite proud of myself.46 -

I got my first "you look like you've lost weight" comment from a co-worker. Some people have no idea how good that makes me feel. I'm a happy camper. It's working!26

I had a 'treat meal' for dinner last night. It was planned for and fit within my daily calorie goal. I found myself full before I finish the meal and instead of stuffing myself to finish it, I wrapped up the leftovers to have for lunch today without even thinking twice. This included a babyback rib (one of my favorite foods). This is definitely a win in my book.21

I had a dream that involved groceries but the food wasn't the primary point of the dream. Instead, whether or not to continue a very long walk was the focus, and there was no angst involved. I've noticed that when I do have food dreams they always involve portion control and thinking about the item that would be best, rather than the massive feasts my old dreams contained. I count this as an NSV because it's a very concrete sign that my fundamental thinking has changed.25

Pants I bought last year when I'd *first* gained weight that were so tight in the waist I couldn't wear them, now fit comfortably in my work clothes rotation. 4 "new" pair of pants when I'd been wearing the same three for a year!20

PMS. Didn't buy myself a comfort ice cream, bought myself some comfort pretty flowers instead
(I did get some chocolate, but definitely not a lot AND it fit in my calories 🎉)22 -

Thank you I really enjoyed my cheesecake guilt free today9 -
I refuse to buy lots of new clothes, not just because I don't go 'out' out anymore but also because I don't plan on staying the same size for very long. But I needed a new winter coat for walking the dog, I have a favourite type I like and my current one felt like I'd gone out without a coat and someone else had borrowed me theirs. I can grab bunches of fabric from all over it.
I went into the shop last weekend to try the coats on since I didn't know what size I'd be. They didn't have any there, they're phasing out my favourite! So I had to order online which is why I went into store in the first place because now I'll have to order 2 sizes and send one back.
Anyway, they've arrived and the smaller of the two fits me! The coat I've been wearing is a 20 and this new one is a 16! I don't even remember the last time I wore a 16 coat! I've just filled in a returns form and actually got to select the 'it's too big' option!
Edit to add: The arms are still super long no matter what coat I get. Perks of this being 5ft life I live, and I imagine it's going to get worse the more weight I lose16 -

I have the opposite problem. I'm 6' and often end up in men's coats because not everyone makes tall sizes, and the sleeves and torso are too short. I don't know who they make clothes for, but it isn't anybody I know, lol.
I was able to do my workout without stopping or modifying anything today. That's progress.

I'm a perfectly average height - 5'5" and with a short torso. A really short torso - and weigh 130ish pounds.
..sleeves are still too short on me.5 -
I don't know if it's an NSV exactly, but I've lost enough belly that now my shoulders and neck are complaining about the size and weight of my bust. Apparently I was resting part of them, even in the bra, on the top of my belly, and that helped support them enough I wasn't having any trouble. Having lost a lot of that top belly, it's suddenly a problem. (I hope to get a breast reduction in '22, COVID permitting)19

I am coming to understand the importance of sleep. I often sleep soundly but not long enough. On the days when I've had less than 6 hours sleep.... I can't get full. I feel hungry all day. I have heard how important sleep is, on this journey and I am now putting 2 and 2 together.23

I bought a dress years ago and I remember it being a bit tight at the time - but I loved it and it was in the sale.
Yesterday it fit perfectly 😊18 -

I have a similar thing happening. Except they’re deflating too.4
