Exercise today was a 13 mile #icecreamwalk even though I'm not feeling the greatest. Woke up with a scratchy throat. Tomorrow hubby and I are headed up near the Cleveland area to the Cuyahoga Valley National Park for a couple days of hiking. We're hoping that the leaves are changing colors up there (that's farther north than we are) so that we can enjoy the beautiful colors.....
WELCOME BACK Sherri!! @SModa61 It's so good to see you again!!7 -
@SModa61 - welcome back! Youβve got this!
@Mrs_Hoffer - I love your #icecreamwalk! Feel better and have a great time hiking.

Walked 1, ran 5. Had a joint birthday dinner for my mom and husband at my aunts house. Turns out my aunt knows how to make the apple cake I loved as a child that I thought the recipe for was lost when my grandmother died (did my words make sense there?) so⦠nostalgia is not good for my willpower. Pass day #2, but I was still slightly under my maintain number so not a total loss.8 -
@Mrs_Hoffer do hope you feel better and enjoy the trip the leaves here in the Adirondacks are almost gone where I live possible SNOW on Mt Marcy this week lol here it comes!!
Tracked and logged good day, spin and arm work.
Hoping to have a more productive day tomorrow.

Thanks for the kind words everyone.
Well, day 1 back was a success despite the day. During my first real walk in months, i found a dehydrated 1.5" snapping turtle in the road with no water source in sight. Remember I just moved here. I stopped another walker and asked about water (i mean he came from somewhere) and they told me what I could legally get to (can't go through the private properties). Anyhow, the little guy seemed alert by the time I got to the stream and I think he has a new chance on life. But my walking pace and mileage accuracy is all off, though I passed my UAC 20 minutes prior to finding the turtle.
Then more unpacking. Finally one whole day at the new home......nope.
I ended up emergency driving to my parents house 30 minutes away, to force my father to call 911. He apparently had been laying on the floor since 11 pm last night (I got to their house at 5:45pm today). He wanted to give it another day before calling 911. He was laying there soaked in urine. My mother did not call 911 because it was not a heart attack and not a "real emergency". He is in the er now. No update on what is going on. My oncologist sister is guessing his hip broke while walking. This is all a part of why we are downsizing. In part for a safer place for our future, and also to have more free time to spend with family as we are needed.
Soooo,
Exercised: yes
Calories; yes, way under even after swiping 2 halloween treats
Tracked: yes, proud of myself for pretracking, but then modifying as the day changed

Still struggling to βget my head in the game.β Lots of socializing and events while traveling and Iβve yet to get a handle on how to juggle it all. Iβm just barely staying within my calories. Tomorrow Iβm doing a 5K and hubs is running a marathon, so exercise is not the issue. Itβs just tough while eating out and spending time with family and friends. Any tips are welcomed!7 -

Trying to get my head back in the game. I know it is mid-month, but that's ok. Most of the day is pre-tracked. Have exercise clothing on for the day (will head out for a walk then more unpacking, packing and such). Let's see how the rest of October goes. Will do my check-in later.

Quick check in to post my update and will catch up in the morning. Last night I had to do several hours online for work. Spent 8am to 9pm today helping my father move to a new place today. Counting all that moving of furniture and stuff as my exercise today. I managed really well all things considered between the sleep and the activity. But now to get some proper rest!5 -

Lovely hike at sunset β€οΈβ€οΈ
One small change I made todayβ¦
I committed to tracking every gram & entering data prior to next eating time (which was the other change I adopted today).
I decided to go back to regularly timed meal: 4 evenly spaced meals. 10-1-4-7 Iβll adjust the time a bit after Daylight Savings time.
Welcome back @SModa61 !! So sorry to hear of your dad. Hope heβs okay & back home.6 -

Tomorrow will most likely be my first pass day of the month as we'll be attending a milestone birthday celebration of my partner's sister. It'll be the first time we've seen anyone in his family other than his sister and brother-in-law since Dec 2019 ... and we've only seen them one time this summer partially in/outside the vicinity of my garage. I'm a little curious about how much the children of his niece and nephew have grown over the last couple of years. Covid sucks.
It's nice to see you @SModa61
I wish @MaltedTea would return too

Thanks @Mrs_Hoffer .. have a great hiking trip!!
Did I exercise for at least 20 minutes? 94 minutes walking, 20 minutes yoga
Did I stay within my calorie budget for the day? Yes
Did I keep track of everything I ate and drank? Yes
Good point @TerriRichardson112 ... so true that small changes add up to big results! All the little decisions we make for ourselves make a huge difference!5 -
Exercise - yes an hour of walking - and a long team game of piggy in the middle in the pool which involved lots of jumping and swimming around (and laughing and fighting, it was so fun!)
Tracking - yes kind of - difficult as the evening involved a big group take out with all sorts of bits and pieces to try,
Calories - no, I didn't go overboard with the take out but couldn't squeeze it into my daily calorie goal (partly because it wasn't planned so I didn't cut down earlier in the day)5 -
Yes, yes and yes
Headed on vacation with intention! I have multiple trips planned for the rest of the year and my goal is to improve the way I handle travel since this is my big area of weakness. I have been told cell phone coverage and wifi coverage is minimal where we are going so I may be checking in later though I will continue to track food and exercise.6
