    Thanks Miyoka : - )
I think that this is my 8th round.

Day 1: Fri, 10/22:- 134.0 - Using my EW from the last 100
    Day 2: Sat, 10/23 - 136.6 - Had a healthy day, I don't understand the big gain.
    1st Week Goal Weight: N/A
    1st Week Actual Weight: 136.6

Day 3: Sun, 10/24: 135.9 - very late dinner after a super long workday
Day 4: Mon, 10/25: 135.4 - No split shift today just a regular day shift, so I will be home for dinner at a reasonable hour. I am going to have a burger on a Kaiser, so had better eat very light all day until then.
Day 5: Tues, 10/26: 135.1 - Going back to split shifts today, trying to have smaller dinners when they are late
Day 6: Wed, 10/27: 136.0 - Trying to stay positive. Absolutely no reason for this gain, not like there was at Thanksgiving.
Day 7: Thurs, 10/28: 135.8 - Well, I ate an entire small takeout pizza last night, planning to have half only. I can't remember the last time that I had pizza (except for my own low cal Pita pizza). I gave into my frustrations that no matter what I seem to do I have been gaining weight, so basically said *kitten* it, I am having pizza.
Day 8: Fri, 10/29: 136.6 - Pizza caught up with me as I knew that it would. Kind of worth it : - )
    Day 9: Sat: 10/30:
2nd Week Goal Weight: I want to erase the gains from the last 100 and the one before - 0.8 and 1.8 = 2.6
    2ndWeek Actual Weight: N/A

    Day 10: Sun: 10/31: DNW
Day 11: Mon: 11/1: 137.1 - Too high. I will work hard on this. Really glad that I have an active job.
Day 12: Tues: 11/2: 136.4 - Long way to go to get back to that 130.6 and beyond, but going in the right direction.
Day 13: Wed: 11/3: 135.6 - 2 nights of steak and prawns, but only half each night.
    Day 14: Thurs: 11/4:
    Day 15: Fri: 11/5:
    Day 16: Sat: 11/6:
    3rd Week Goal Weight: 133

One of my TVs is a smart TV. I find that it is not very smart. Spinning blue wheel trying to do anything but watch TV.

I am able to cast to one of my TVs that has a blu-ray player plugged into it. Who knew? I had it for 6 months before I found out that it has YouTube right on it d'uh. It kind of turns that TV into a smart TV, when it is tuned to the port of the Blu-Ray player.

The phone shows a rectangle when it senses a device that it can cast to. Not sure if that helps.

I don't have Alexa, but I do have a Google Nest that I can ask things to. I pretty much only use it as a bluetooth speaker. The sound is good, but it must be plugged into power to work, which is inconvenient if I want to hear music while gardening in a place where there isn't an outlet.
If I ask it to play a song for me it will say "playing on youtube" since I guess youtube is a Google thing?

Lol, trying to keep up with the times.

Wow, that is a lot that the doc is asking of your Mom.
The jury is still out on the safety of Keto and its effects on bone health, brain health, muscle tissue, fibre, energy, and other things.
Such a drastic eating change suggested for her by that doc!
At 175 pounds she might be at an acceptable weight already? Carbs are very important too, maybe just a tiny tweak in the choices toward unprocessed?

I am a firm believer in staying active to keep circulation/blood moving, oxygen to the brain, strengthening of the bones etc. etc. Really great that you are having her come for walks with you.

    Just playing devil's advocate here:
At 85 years old why not just let her eat what she enjoys?

Glad that you are working on your own health, you will need to be fit to look after her.

Really glad that she has you!!

I need to quit losing the same pounds over and over. If you are tired of starting over, STOP giving up.

    Female, Age 61, 5’3”
    Challenge Starting Weight: 207 (10/21)
    Challenge Goal: <195

    History & Goals

Success is the sum of small efforts repeated day in day out.
Ultimate Lifetime Goal: Weigh Less Each Year Than the Last
    2019 SW: 245 BMI 43.4 (1/2/2019) Lost 15 lbs in 2019 then regained 5
2020 SW: 235 BMI 41.6 (1/1/2020) Then back up to 241 before refocusing in Aug
    2021 SW: 212 BMI 37.6 (1/1/2021)
UGW: 165 BMI 29.2 Overweight NOT Obese
    🎯 Mini Goals & Weight:
    * 50 lbs lost never to be found: 195
    * Obese stage 1 BMI 34.9: 197
    * Onederland: 199

Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!
    240’s; 230’s; 220's; 210's; 200's; 190's; 180’s; 170's; 160's; 150's

My goal for 2021 is to get into ONEderland and make it stick. Changing my life.
    Plans:
🔹Find workout routine that works (walk, bike, planks, yoga, swim, strength training, take advantage of retirement to be more active); target walking 100 miles each month
🔹Drink more water (target min 64-80 oz daily; start with 1 glass before coffee)
🔹Journal Food Daily (tracking with MFP since 12/28/2018; basically skipped June-Dec 2019; recommit 1/1/2020; skipped out April-July 2020; recommit 8/6/2020)
🔹Daily Vitamins (Dr’s orders; need to not ignore)
🔹Drink less alcohol (3 AF days per week; ~12-16 AF days per month; limit 1-2 glasses per day)

Day 1: Fri, 10/22: 206.8 Walked 1 mile, Strength Training 1 hr, 2105 cal, 102 net carbs, 2 glasses wine.
    Day 2: Sat, 10/23 206.1 Walked 3.2 miles, gardening, 1894 cal, 74 net carbs, 2 glasses wine.
1st Week Goal Weight: Happy to lose any of this darn ~4 lb gain from 16 day road trip vacation in October!
    1st Week Actual Weight: 206.1

    Day 3: Sun, 10/24: 206.8 Walked 3 miles, 1784 cal, 83 net carbs, 3 glasses wine.
    Day 4: Mon, 10/25: 205.9 Walked 4 miles, Bike 20 min, 1808 cal, 110 net carbs, AF.
Day 5: Tues, 10/26: 207.0 [/b] Walked 4.75 miles, 2190 cal, 129 net carbs, Torchy’s Tini. Weight up due to snacks not meals. Went to Pat Benatar & Neil Giraldo plus John Waite concert last night. They still have great voices! Really enjoyed John Waite’s opener as he sang a wide variety of songs.

My mother self diagnosis and medicates usually. She has had neuropathy for 4 years but would not see someone about it. Took my mom to a doctor about her neuropathy in her feet & lower legs. Her doc has not done A1c lab work but this one thinks she might be pre-diabetic so she will get more lab work to check. He is switching her from over the internet TrueWell (150 mg alpha-lipoid acid) to EBM’s pharmaceutical grade EB-N6 (600 mg alpha-lipoid acid). Said she is not a candidate for his program to reverse with surgery. She is 85 (5’4” 175 lbs) and eats primarily carbs with few vegetables & protein. He recommended she start keto and then switch to Mediterranean diet. Read Sugar Crush and Fat for Fuel to better understand what she is doing to her body with all the carbs. We checked these books out from the library. She needs to walk, bike or swim at least 20 min 3x per week so I took her out for a short walk … she is active but doesn’t exercise. I also have her doing daily stretches and exercises for her sciatic nerve issue. It is hard to incorporate these changes in an 85 year old … but reinforces my path to healthier lifestyle and I need to get back focused on my own journey to lowering the number on the scale!
Day 14: Thurs: 11/4: 207.5 Walked 3.8 miles, 1530 cal, 138 net carbs, 2 glasses wine. Baked pumpkin cookies and pear cake for the baby shower on Saturday at my house. Also cooked a very large pot of chicken sausage gumbo to prep for all the company coming in Friday evening. Kitchen sort of day which was good activity given all the rain in the afternoon/evening.

@dawnbgethealthy - Her doc was not trying to get her to lose weight with the suggestions for changing her diet. It was really about how since her husband died last year she doesn't cook and is surviving on processed food and carbs (bread for breakfast, sweets/candy during the day and dinner of chips & creamy dip) ... no veggies and no protein. Her 3 food groups are bread, chips, and candy. He was explaining that the sugar is deteriorating her health from all the carbs. That was the source of much of her neuropathy and she could reverse that if she acted now and not edge closer to being diabetic (which she is not yet but showing signs that she is or close to pre-diabetic). She needs to try keto/low carb for just a month or so to cut out all the junk food (not really focus on the fat but focus on the veggies and protein .. and then switch to a healthier diet like Mediterranean.
But getting her to cook is near impossible! And getting her to eat healthy is something my sister and I've talked to her about for years. I don't know if hearing it from the doc will help.
She is reading the "Sugar Crush" book and telling me things she had no clue about regarding carbs :)

Oh and to do purposeful walking/biking/swimming ... which will also help with the neuropathy. Even at 85 we need to be moving!

I took her this summer to Arkansas to visit a friend of hers in an assisted living facility that has lost the use of her legs due to neuropathy. So she has a close example of what she needs to avoid as an end result.
