  • @MeowScout Diligence! I had to do a complete overhaul of diet and exercise, and it was all worth it. But planning got me where I am today, and diligence - keeping it up.

@MeowScout Diligence! And every morning I log into MFP and plan what I'm going to eat for the day, and I stick to 99% of plan. Slight variations when I weight out my salad ingredients. If I get hungry, instead of adding food I drink Ice Tea or Fizzy water and then I do anything to distract me from hunger. It can be as simple as folding laundry, or a hobby. Remove yourself from the kitchen. I think I will have to track for the rest of my life, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. Anything to keep from gaining again. I've lost over 50lbs.

Well I’ve ate too much for the last few days and didn’t work out much this week. And had some alcohol on Thanksgiving. It’s just not good for me to have leftover dessert in the house. 😳 I guess I feel more lax since it’s the holidays, but gaining 3.3 lbs in a week should be a wake up call!

    Weigh-in Day!

    Height: 5'2"
    Age: 30
    SW: 252.8 (11/13/2020)
    CW: 206.4 (10/30/2021)
    11/6: 204.8

AGH. So close, yet so far. I know the vast majority of that +1.6 lbs is going to be retained water and food in transit, though, and as long as I trust the process, the scale will start moving in the right direction again forthwith. Once upon a time, seeing a jump on the scale like that would have derailed me for at least the rest of the year. That little voice in my head would go - and stop me if you've heard this one before - "aw hell, I've already screwed this up, might as well just enjoy the holidays and start again in January." But not so anymore. I know now that it's all part of the process. Feast days will continue to happen, I gotta learn to live with them, plan for them, make adjustments in other areas of my life in order to participate in the feast days the way I want to. It's all about finding that balance.

I had plans to do stuff today, but instead decided my kitchen was badly in need of an overhaul. I'm not very good at keeping it as clean as I would like to be - I should honestly probably just put calendar reminders in my phone to do this regularly (and do the smaller stuff *more* regularly), rather than waiting until it's too overwhelmingly dirty and disorganized and I have to wade into the maelstrom of shame and anxiety and fight the Kitchen Kraken until it's back to an acceptable state. That's just punishing myself, which is so unnecessary. In addition to cleaning off the stove and counters, I also cleaned out the fridge - tossed all the out-of-date condiments, weird stuff I bought for a recipe last year and used a third of, half-jars of pasta sauce from months ago, about ten thousand Chinese food sauce packets, and cleaned all the shelves and drawers. I don't know how often Hubs' grandma deep-cleaned this fridge when she lived here, but, uh, I haven't done that since we moved into this apartment in 2018, so...yeah. I had other plans, but this all needed to happen. So. I'll probably still at least go for a walk around the block, since it's too late now to go to a park and walk in nature (they close at sunset, it's already dusk).

I did manage to make a batch of eggnog during the middle of fighting the Kitchen Kraken, though, so now that's aging in the newly-cleaned fridge and should be delectable by Christmas Day. Now I just have to figure out what to do with the rest of the half-and-half and heavy cream that I bought for it, LMAO. The obvious answer is "make more 'nog," but I'm also making some coldbrew so maybe I'll use them in my iced coffee instead of the flavored creamer. Not that it's any better caloriewise--in fact the flavored creamer might be a little lower, since it's got less fat, but whatever.

Congratulations! You lost weight while on vacation! Hooray!

Well I didn't get to the 180 or below. Had an uptick to 181.8 lbs but I was true to my calories, carbs, water and exercise so just a normal weight fluctuation. So I lost 30.2 lbs during the 3 month challenge. Which is excellent!

So starting 11/1 at 181.8 lbs with goal of 5 lbs for the month. This 10 lb average / month that has been going on has got to slow down soon, I'm thinking.

Welcome back to past challengers and to the new ones!
64 yo 5' 4" Heaviest Weight twice-255 lbs, got down to 122 lbs 2010 and kept it off 5 years then got lazy.
    11/1/21-181.8 lbs
11/7/21-180 lbs! Down 75 lbs. 58 lbs to my 122 lb goal. Did 200 minutes on my Elliptical today, 14.25 miles.[/quote]
11/14/21-176.6 lbs, Down 78.4 lbs, about 60 % of my 133 lbs loss goal, 5.2 lbs of my 11/1-1/31/22 (or 2/1/22 AM) 15 lb goal. Have been bumping up my Elliptical, was up to 210 minutes (3.5 hours) Today I did 223 minutes because I wanted to finish the last 10 minutes of the last movie and I wanted the 16 mile mark!

11/21-177.4 lbs, Yuck! But has to be water weight as I stuck to my calorie and water goals. So it's ok. Also I have been losing 10 lbs/month and expected it to slow down a month or 2 ago. Guess it's now.

11/27-175.8 lbs! Down 79.2 total lbs. 6 lbs for my 5 lb month goal!

I was on vacation from work this week, and although I also took the week off from working out, I got a lot done at home. My girls decided they didn't want to share a room anymore, so my house got a major re-org. Cleaned out the shed, moved my home office to the sunroom, moved the crap from the sunroom into the shed, moved my son into the girls old room, my youngest into my old office, and my 10 year old into my son's old room. Threw away and organized so much junk in the process. Feels so good to have it done!

I definitely went over my calories on T-day, but still stayed under what would be my maintenance numbers, and have been under the rest of the days. Scale still jumped 3 pounds from the day before, but hoping it will swoosh back down once I get back to it, and stuff exits my body, lol. Today was not the day for that... we went and saw a movie in a theater for the first time in nearly 2 years. Then went to our local amusement park for the winter festival, so at least I got in some good steps.

    Goals for November:
    - Add at least 1 day a week weight training❌
    - Min 15 min cardio 5x per week: ❌
    - At least 8 glasses water daily ✔
    - Be thoughtful with my intake at Thanksgiving. ✔

    Hi ladies,
I'm back again and going to try AGAIN. Husband passed away 5 months ago, and it's been a struggle just to do finances, maintain household, etc. So losing weight has been a low priority. I'm an emotional eater, so have been back to eating chips, etc. You are all so wonderful. Keep me in your prayers.
I'm 70, started at 295 lbs years ago, am now 260, but struggling. Thanks.

so sorry for your loss. prayers.

I am going to try to post regularly as I get back on track. I tracked today, and I can’t believe it. We had our family TG today, just my husband and kids, and I tracked ahead of time, did not skimp, and stuck to it. I wanted seconds, but didn’t. It is always a truth that my husband can eat more than I can. Soon my 11 and 13 yo will too. And I can either run away and live in the forest alone (tempting!) or learn to live with it. One day at a time, y’all.

    @finngirl61 Praying for you now.

    Age 61 / height 5' 4.5"

    8/13/2021 - 298.8 (SW & HW)
    October- 278.8 (Down 20!)

    11/1/2021- 280.0 (darn Halloween 🎃)
    11/5/2021- 277.8
    11/7-19/2021- vacation 🌴
    11/25/2021- 274.0
    11/28/2021 - 272.2!! (Down 26.6)

In my last post I mentioned I would check my weight today, in case the 25th was a fluke, and I was delighted to be down almost 2 more lbs!!

Also, edited to add, turns out when I really reviewed the cold hard data on this:
[○] Get my water in, minimum 6 glasses, especially while away - doing pretty good on this goal, peeing a lot 🤭
I did NOT do well at all, despite my frequent peeing, especially while away! I do better at drinking water when at home. Will need to make this a December goal.

Total weight loss from October low is 6.6, and that is after a truly lovely vacation, so I am thrilled 😀.

Thanks @swimmom_1, your rate of loss is remarkable; congrats on 80 lbs down 👏

Hey @Jem594, congrats on your logging streak - how did you manage Thanksgiving? Or are you a Canuck like me lol?

@finngirl61 - I hope you are in a better place after all you've had to deal with that was on top of losing your life partner. It's a lot and very glad you feel up to joining us. Please take this time for yourself and be kind, you have done well to maintain a loss.

Main November goal - to be safely in Onderland
Add an additional 30 minute walk to my daily routine
Complete the 2 5k's I entered myself in (I will be walking)
And just keeping up the good habits I am developing.

Currently sitting at 197.4...can I lose the .4 by tomorrow? If I can I will meet my goal, if I don't I think it's close enough to be a win for me :)

SW (7/23): I ended up resting all weekend, trying to nurse my lower back back to health.
I hope your back feels better ((hugs)) If you can do the 5k maybe you can move up a little more walking. The veggies sound like a perfect plan! I love veggies, but the hubby's family is ridiculous with veggies.. meaning, green beans: covered in fried onion things with cream. Sweet potato: covered with huge marshmallows. I mean, I figure they don't believe in veggies at all. So I can't really have them, much less have seconds. I am planning on bringing a sugar free pumpkin pie, but I am pretty sure I will be the only one eating it even though there are 4 diabetics out of 14 people. I don't even have diabetes, I am just trying to deal with sugar for my brain issues.

Thank you! I ended up going to the ER on Tuesday because I managed to get worse overnight and couldn't walk, the pain was blinding, and my GP couldn't see me. Luckily I hit a dead time at the ER and was in and out in 45 minutes. It was still my back, but I got a slight upgrade in meds and a friend lent me her pregnancy pillow to use to sleep in a good side position.

By Thursday, I was able to walk to 5K, though it was not entirely comfy. Same with a HIIT class on Friday. But by Saturday I was feeling loads better.

UGH about the way those veggies are prepared. We roasted green beans, steamed asparagus, and had a nice light salad with pears. Hearing that dinner makes my heart clog just reading it.

Forgot to choose a day! My weigh-ins will be Fridays as the weekend tends to get away from me.

    11/5: 231.5
    11/12: 231.5
    11/19: 232.6
    11/26 235.8

whew...okay. I went off the rails last week, partly caused by a bunch of stressors, and partly caused by losing my Fitbit charger and being unable to use it for a couple days. that is, of course, reason to just go wild. :s

But I didn't actually gain 3 pounds, so. We'll just get back to getting it right.

So SO in awe of y'all holding it together, and keeping on towards your goals!
