Beth- I will not be one to say "rehome the dog". He is young. I bet with some training he will come around and be just fine. If you love him; work with him. If I rehomed every thing that wasn't a good fit; my husband would live elsewhere. lol

Kelly ... thank you for this! I bust out laughing!

Terri- sending god thought to you for your procedure tomorrow.
I was one of the hostesses for Ladies bridge today. We had 36 women play for 6 hours. Then I had to help clean up after. So glad to get home.
My “angel” from the angel tree had somethings on her list that I didn’t know what they were. She is 17 years old so I started googling things. One thing she ask for is young adult books. Any suggestions?
I really don’t have a goal but will try to regain my endurance.
Thanks Barbie for the new month.

    December: leaner/stronger/kinder than November.
    Accountability:
Chose well: Tuesday: BP, dogs to power line, DDS. Wednesday: BP, dog group.
Bonus: Tuesday: Post Office, BiMart, car wash. Wednesday: hours lopping and lifting brush into burn barrel.
    Just one thing:
    Do good December
1: Spread kindness and share the December calendar with others. Here you go:

Thank you Barbie! You are our rock.
Heather I really enjoyed Johnny’s round robin, would you give him my thanks?
Lisa $300/10 days yikes! That makes me feel better about Joe’s $400/month eye drops. Your health is worth it, no pockets in a shroud. When the VA comes through with the next prescription will it still cost that much? Hopeful news about your health and your daughter.
KJ I, too, hope training can keep the puppy with Beth’s family, and I love Kim’s suggestions of dog walkers until the family is physically able. I nearly “re-homed” Joe when he told me I had to get rid of my rescue Wheaten. Good thing he came to his senses.
Barbie “like teaching a raccoon to live indoors” ring of truth! Yes, one of my rules is once I take on a responsibility, like a dog, that’s it, But I have no physical disabilities other than an extra 25 pounds. And we did kick one nephew out when he could not live by our rules.
Betsy good to see you posting, you’ve been missed.
Terri sending good energy to your medical staff and good thoughts for a quick, painless recovery.
Mary Wow. You must be so proud of your nephew!
Rebecca “… to the penny” Hooray! Now where are those Athena pics?
Carol that’s quite a range of feelings !
Allie sure hope the Dr.s office calls with interpretation soon, and that the news is favorable.
Beth I’m glad to hear your son doesn’t want to rehome Cecil. Time for your son to step up and exercise Cecil and work with him. Taking Shadow (or Tumble) to dog group for socialization twice a week is an hour that always improves my mood as well as being good for the dog. I am so sorry to hear of your father’s Covid test. Fingers X’d for both your mom and dad.
Suebdew hoping your stamina returns and soon.
Kim what a relief to finally have medical insurance you dare to use!
Kate and Evelyn good to see you popping in!

Like Machka I feel that I’m already behind on December and it’s just the first. Chose to lop and burn today instead of T’ai Chi. Dog group instead of power line. Still short on steps so time to get up off my butt.

Emotional Wellness: Coping effectively with life and creating satisfying relationships
Spiritual Wellness: Expanding our sense of purpose and meaning in life
Intellectual Wellness: Recognizing creative abilities and finding ways to expand knowledge and skills
Physical Wellness: Recognizing the need for physical activity, diet, sleep, and nutrition
Environmental Wellness: Good health by occupying pleasant, stimulating environments that support well-being
Financial Wellness: Satisfaction with current and future financial situations
Occupational Wellness: Personal satisfaction and enrichment derived from one’s work
Social Wellness: Developing a sense of connection, belonging, and a well-developed support system

Emotional: I struggle with this one. Some days I'm coping effectively, others I'm not. I'd like to talk some things out with someone at times, but there's really no one.

Spiritual: Not too bad. Several months ago, I started reading the Bible each day again (one thing I use my phone for!) and am always praying. I find those things more comforting than reading inspirational quotes, etc. Sometimes I'm tempted to post verses here, but I won't. :)

Intellectual: My learning level hasn't been as intense as it was when I was in uni, and that's a good thing. I needed the break. However, this year, I did take a course on Understanding Brain Injury and I have been learning about gardening and bees.

Physical: Plugging away at it, trying to exercise every day or most days. In December the plan is to walk lots, climb some stairs, do some stretching and strengthening, resume running, and get as much cycling as we can in!
As for diet and sleep, I still need to eat slightly less and sleep a lot more. Once holidays begin, the sleeping more should be possible
Medical - only a couple small appointments this month, I think.

Environmental: 'Pleasant, stimulating environments that support well-being' would be places like the garden we're working on, the beach I walk and run to, and the places we cycle. Toward the end of the month we might travel to some of our favourite places to cycle.
I think my To Do List would fit here ... trying to improve the indoor environment, in particular. But also trying to improve some of the other aspects as well. I had hoped to get through most of this list in 2021, but unless I am given a magic wand for Christmas, it isn't going to happen. So, it'll become my 2022 list!

Financial: Hmmm ... could be better.

Occupational: Ummm ... could be better.

Social: This is where our cycling club (Audax - long distance cycling) would fit. We're organising an event that goes December 5th which gives us a chance to socialise with other cyclists. If all goes well, we'll also get together with some of my husband's family this month.

Meanwhile this weekend (3-day) may include: cycling, running, building a beehive, getting more gravel for the ever-expanding footpath, organising a cycling event, colouring, working on a document for our lawyers, and putting up Christmas decorations.

Barbara, I am trying to get them from daughter in law but it involves getting them from her camera. I will ask her again. I will state about 40 older ladies (Athena's Aunties) need to see the messy chocolate pics, and get their dose of Athens cuteness!🙃😊 I'm sure she'll not be freaked out. Nope.
Staying up late and hoping my youngest gives me a call.

DH's daughter said my story was "Lovely" and has passed it to the relevant department. The main thing is, I enjoyed doing it. Chances are slim I think.

Heather – Love your DH’s round robin! He's quite funny, but gentle with it.

Vicki – I’m so sorry about your friend.

Betsy – It’s so good to see you posting again, and glad your sister is stable. Hope the cataract surgery goes well. Glad you’re healing after the fall in September.

    Terri
    – Hope your procedure is successful and your recovery pain free.

Mary in AZ – Well done to your nephew! The picture shows so much intensity coming from his gaze.

Rebecca – Hope your DDIL gets pics to you soon – we’re having Athena withdrawals.

Kim – Thank you for the boost I needed to try one more time to deal with the ACA. I delved into the site a week ago and ended up throwing my hands up in the air, because it’s frustrating as all get-out. I'll put on my big-girl panties and try once more.

Barbara – “no pockets in a shroud” is a little morbid, but I get the drift. Cried about it for a little (not about your comment, but the situation). I’ve finally learned that if I don’t go ahead and cry, eventually there will be an explosion that is much worse than crying. Unfortunately, both the VA pharmacy tech and the gastroenterologist’s nurse were in the line of fire when I began weeping.

    Allie
    – hope the tests are clear and you are able to get on with your life.

Rori – So glad that your leash-loving cat is getting you outside and walking a lot. Does he like snow? Sounds like y’all need some. Glad your bone density scan was positive.

Kate – love your knitted items!

    Love y’all,
    Lisa in AR
