I'm just getting started (I list weight with mfp 8+ years ago and got down to about 165) covid has not helped with gaining weight. I never reached my goal weight the first time...so here's to trying again.

Hey folks, I'm back on after near a year's break. I had been doing great this time last year with my weight and exercise but then I was bullied out of a role I loved and it's been a tough year (narc boss, who was also supposed to be my friend, a lot to work through).
My main goal this month is to get my emotional eating under control, it's about as bad as it's been ever, so looking for ways to self-regulate that aren't food. I'm also dealing with piriformis syndrome atm (my piriformis muscle is pressing on the sciatic nerve) which is disappointing because I would normally walk every other day and have recently dusted off my kayak and met a great group of women locally. I'm hoping that will have settled by the end of this week so I can get back moving again, I'm missing the forest in particular.
Thanks for setting this up, and friend requests are welcome!

I eat keto (mostly), it worked for me in the past but my crap eating habits have undone that, and I have histamine intolerance which means I need to be careful about what I'm eating (mostly, but every so often I'll risk the stuffy nose and slight insomnia for a glass of red wine and mature cheese!). I really want to heal my relationship with food so I can get back to "everything in moderation and a little of what you fancy".7 -
Hi all, I've recently gotten back to MFP and would love to be a bit more part of the community this time around 🤗
I'm Jonna, I live in the Faroe Islands (yes, that tiny spot in the middle of nowhere which you probably can't see on the map unless you zoom in 😅) and I just started a new office job. I also just started keto, I'm on day 4 and going strong, if I do say so myself 😌
I'm 31 years old, weigh 225lbs'ish and 5.7ft, I've never really minded being on the bigger side, finding clothes is harder than it has to be sure, but that's not a big deal... But summer is coming and I want to be more active and I'm beginning to feel like my weight is hindering that 😬

I'm relying to decide what to do with my calories for the month of February. I'm at a point where I need to decrease them to keep losing. I was aiming for 2,200 in January but it ended up being an average of 2,500 per day because of some really high days. I'm a nighttime/emotional eater and even though I do great all day, I tend to go over in the evening. I'm going to aim for an average of 2,000.
It always makes me sad when I have to “reduce” my caloric intake as the scale reduces too. I usually just start exercising more so I can eat more!
Maybe try getting up earlier and going to bed earlier? I currently wake up between 4-5am and go to bed between 8:30-9:30pm and this greatly helps me with the night time binging. I use to watch tv, eat and drink alcohol at night. Now, after work and evening duties, I do yoga at the gym for an hour then after I get Home and shower, I’m relaxed and ready for bed.

Hello! I'd like to hop on board this train. I'm a bit late, but better late than never. January was a bad month for me. I struggle with not consuming alcohol and last month I didn't put up any fight at all. I'm happy to say this month I'm winning that fight despite a few slip ups.
All time start weight: 280 (I initially got down to 227 but went off the wagon Oct 2021 and gained a lot back.)

@cowgirlslikeus86 - I can admit that I have been totally lurking on your status updates because I love seeing people with similar stats to mine do so well. Congrats on all that you have accomplished so far.
To answer your question I think my ultimate goal weight will be somewhere around 165. I will probably start upping my calories closer to maintenance around 170 or so.4 -

This month I had intended to focus on self-care. Schedule a massage and facial, find ways to relax and reflect on my success so far. Alas, life had other plans for me this month. On Monday we signed a contract to buy a new house (we have been low-key looking since last year) and now are in a rush to get our house listed and under contract. Then the crazy of inspections, paperwork, packing, moving, unpacking and all the details that it takes to get set up in a new house. So I am changing my February focus to be on stress management while staying on plan. I know I can do this, over the last year+ I have really built sustainable eating habits that make it easy for me to stay on plan.8 -
Hi ladies and a big thank you to @RavenStCloud for keeping this group going! I've been reading everyone's posts- you are all so amazing. I haven't posted in awhile but am tracking my food. Last year I in April I turned 70. Boy, it's harder to lose weight as you get older. Then in June, my husband passed away unexpectedly. Since then, I've had to deal with all the finances, accounts, etc. To say it's been rough is an understatement. I'm lucky to have a brother near by, a best friend and great neighbors. But at night it gets so quiet, except for my 2 kitties, one of which is quite old, so am trying to prepare myself for when she goes. I'm an emotional eater, so losing my husband has been a challenge regarding food. I've stayed within the 259 and 260 range. But I have to get some pounds off. My right knee is bad; have had 2 injections. But the weight is starting to hurt my left knee. So, I hope to stay strong and try to take care of myself, especially with eating well. Thanks for listening and thank you all for sharing your struggles. You are all amazing! 😊❤10

This thread is so inspiring. I have been starting and stopping my weight loss journey for as long as I can remember. In January I took a picture with my mom and my daughter and that did it for me. It was an eye opener so now I am determined to eat right and move my body so I can look good and feel good.
I didn't want to start the new year with a resolution to lose weight so it took me a while to get going. On January 19th I finally got my first workout in for 2022. I have been going strong ever since. My nutrition has been on point since January 20th.
My February goals are to continue making good food choices and to finish every workout program that I start. Today I am on day 6 of a 21 day program. I feel myself getting stronger. It's amazing.

@AmberlyMarlene you are not late, you've arrived in perfect time! Welcome! Congrats on winning so far, you're on a streak!
@JonnaXD every time i see pictures of the Faroe Islands I have to convince myself not to emigrate. I only *think* I'd love to live there. (Probably.) Welcome!

Hi, @nebslp !! You are so right. as someone posted last month or maybe the month before, if I quit now, I'll be back where I started. and when I started, I only dreamed of being here, 32 pounds down!
On we roll.10 -
Hey all,
I’ve been following you for a bit, I feel now is time to partake. Great motivation here especially @justanotherloser007 - fantastic loss, great motivation and commitment. Feel free to friend me….in fact there’s a lot of you that give me motivation so anyone else if you feel I can be of any motivation or inspiration to you or you to me, fire me a friend request.

CURRENT goal target -224; this was my initial starting weight with mfp Maaaaany many years ago!! 😉
SECOND goal 199 - yup!! Wonderland not seen that in over a decade, maybe even 15years.
Since then I’ve lost weight, gained weight, had 3 children, lost weight, gained weight so on and so forth!
Then May 2018 I got diagnosed with ALL (acute lymphoblastic leukaemia - not a great donor list for that one!!) and spent almost 3 years fighting cancer. I lost around 34lbs from the chemo and complications that arose along the way etc… could barely eat/hold anything down for 5months - not a good diet 😉🤭bad joke I know but….got to try and see the brighter side of life 🙃
Then thanks to maintenance treatment…..I gained the 34lbs back 😒 along with an additional 44/45lbs - thanks to dexamethasone!! 🙌😡😆, but I am here to see another day!
Since finishing treatment/maintenance and once re-cooperated I started a strict diet plan and lost almost 40lbs in 5months….I’ve now stalled for a few months…since Christmas if I’m honest and have been slowly gaining. My head has not been quite in the game!!!
So my first goal is get back to where I was all those maaaaany many years ago!!…it’s a small target but it’s in the right
Wishing you all happy scale numbers this month! 💪💪11 -

I'm going to CA with my daughter for the weekend to celebrate my birthday (Disneyland tomorrow). Traveling is usually an excuse to eat an insane amount of food and then be off plan for weeks/months. I'm excited to be traveling but so nervous because I don't want it to derail me. I want to enjoy the trip but also stay on track.

Hellllllo Onederland!!! I have not seen you since March 2015ish! It absolutely blows my mind! I am also halfway to my goal!
It amazes me how much energy and motivation I have. Like, I feel like getting my mental health in a better place prompted me to get my weight under control. And now that’s trickling into getting my house in order. I WANT to clean. And I have the energy to do it. It's wild. It’s like I’m decluttering my life of extra crap that’s held me down for so long. My next goal is to get to 191 since I'll officially be just overweight and no longer obese!

I'm excited to find this group! I lost 10 lbs in October and November and got slack through the holidays, but maintained which I'm happy with. Now it's time to get back on track. I'm aiming for a lifestyle change to be able to maintain balance in the future so I'm happy losing at a slow pace to make that happen.6 -
