Need to knuckle down now and make each round count, DS's wedding is later this spring & I want to feel happy with myself on the day. Aim this round to be lower than the start, concentrate on good food choices & think before I put anything in my mouth!!

Achieved goal weigh of 125lb in summer 2016 by losing 66lb and then gradually gained between 7 and 11 since then & didn't want to gain any more, It's took me 75 rounds to achieve my under 130 target; back to maintenance again!! But then I crept up again, so need to get back under 130. A healthy life style has to be a permanent way of life.

2/16 138.6 - Wet all day yesterday, managed some jogging in place only before going out for afternoon tea to celebrate DS 60 +1 birthday ( postponed from last year as we were in lockdown!!) Suffice to say calories & all macros over, but stopped at that! Will make today count as a counter balance to yesterday.
2/17 138.6 - 10.56 miles walked yesterday plus an hours yoga, but I ate back all the calories

2/18 138.6 - 7.81 miles walked, 29 & 37 calories & carbs over respectively, no mindless grazing or binging. Take care out in those storms today; Eunice is not kind, keep safe !!

2/19 137.8 – 5.05 miles in small window – calm before the storm, so went dancing last night to burn some calories, only sat out for 4 dances, a good night and chance to practice all our ballroom & latin dances. Calories under, carbs19g over, no mindless grazing/binging

2/20 138 – no structured walking, storm Eunice !! So, travelled up to DS to help decorate through his basement & their bedroom; DH & DS decorated whilst I took care of DDGs & DIL cooked our meals & acted as goffa. We stayed over last night to carry on today.
2/21 138.8 – again storms prevented any walking & continued to help DS with home decorating, not much control over meals as DIL prepared, but enjoyed playing with DGDs. Back to normal today, hopefully manage a window for a walk within the storm today.
2/22 138.2 -10.36 miles walked, calories & all macros in credit.
2/23 137.8 – 11.23 miles walked, calories under target, but carbs 20g over. Good choices & no mindless grazing/binging.
2/24 137.8 – 10.01 miles plus an hours yoga. Calories & all macros in credit, a good day.
2/25 137.8 - 8.29 miles walked yesterday, DD had a days leave & so little DGS & myself took her out for afternoon tea, this resulted in me eating 391, 83 & 22 calories, carbs & fat over respectively, but where as previously I would often start a full binge after these excesses in the past; today I left it at that, I'll take it as a NSV.
Just a 0.2 pound loss; but a loss is still a loss and at least I seem to be back on track now and only deviating when I can't control meal preparations (& although I don't want to tempt fate again cuz it seems each time I say this I then go on to self sabotage!!), I've stopped using this as continuing then into a full blown binge! See you tomorrow in the next round.

2/19 – 138.4 so this round had a rough start. Today is day 4, I think I have settled in. I am just struggling so much to not keep resorting to bad choices. Little things set me off. Yet, a year ago, those same “things” would not had distracted me.

2/20 – 137.8 yesterday was a good day all around. (fast solo walk, followed by 11 mile bike ride with hubby). Good tracking. Good exercise. Good mental head space. Today is starting off well, and don’t expect it to go south. I need two in a row, to begin that better pattern. On another note, though I had a misstart for the beginning of this round, I am happy that I did not just let myself say “I’ll just come back next round”. So you know, that thought did go through my head….. BP 68/112, 84 BPM (4 pm)

2/21 – 136.0 second good day. 6.5 mile group walk, then later walked a small nature reserve with hubby. Was actually solidly under on calories for the day, but not hungry. BP 70/111, 77 BPM (4 pm)

2/22 – 136.4 Not perfect day. Went above my preferred calories, but kept out of the crazy spiral behavior, so I will accept that. Did two walks. One 6.5 mile with group and then a fifth lap (1.6+ mile) with hubby an hour or so later. Today, morning BP (8:30 am) 65/102, 89 BPM, VO2 Max 31.4. I want to get back to monitoring my VO2 max. Last year I had taken it from a low of various below 29 numbers (Nov 2020) to a high of almost 35 by May 2021. Just in these past two weeks, I have improved a little with 30.4 as my low and now 31.4 two days in a row. I’ll probably start another spoiler that tracks exercise choices, and bits of health data to keep stuff is available but not bog you guys all down. On another note, today will be challenging. Hosting a dinner party and plan on just monitor portions.

2/25 – 137.4 Ok, so I ended this round up. Disappointed that I am not keeping more focused on goals. BUT, I am stepping on the scale virtually every day (a blip at the beginning of the round) so at a minimum I am having to/getting to see the effect of my actions and at least be informed. That in itself is a positive action. Round 179, here I come. This round starts off with my husband out of town for 3 days. Maybe I can use this time to get some solid planning in effect and make 179 a really good round.

2/21 visitors left this morning.. nice to have them around, but ate way too much. More or else stuck with my training and hit a couple PRs. I designated an edge of my vegetable garden to be an asparagus patch and my dad helped me build a divider to keep it from spreading. It put me in the mood for gardening! We are supposed to get some ice later this week though.. so hopefully in the next couple of weeks I’ll have my spring vegetable seeds in the ground. Push day for strength. Broccoli dal with seitan for dinner. Expecting a scale bump after all the carbs this weekend. I didn’t even bother weighing since I knew it was carb city. Protein: 163

2/23 icy weather, but I didn’t have to go anywhere. Way too cold in the garage to do a traditional workout, so I brought in some dumbbells and did a couple apple workouts. It’s always nice to change things up a little. I bet I’m sore tomorrow even though what I did today used a lot less weight since it was different from usual. Plus I shoveled the driveway. 2/16 - 146 - I think Super Bowl Sunday just caught up with me. Sometimes it takes a couple days. I've been eating well the past couple days so this should hopefully come back down.
2/17 - 145.5 - I'm tracking my food and getting in my steps.
2/18 - 145.5 - I'll be measuring and weighing all my food this weekend.
2/19 - 146 - I measured 400 calories worth of pizza last night which kept me in my calorie range. However, the carbs and sodium bumped up my weight this morning. I have my catered lunch in the office today. I made good choices last week and plan to make good choices today.
2/20 - 145.5 - I was not as good as I had hoped yesterday. I'm sure the weight will show up in the next day or two.
2/21 - 147 - I had visitors, high sodium food, and not enough water. I'll start taking care of the weekend damage today.
2/22 - 145 - I'm happy to see this number today. It helps to keep me motivated for the week.
2/23 - 146 - I had a cardiologist appt. yesterday due to some palpitation issues I've had over the past few months. She looked over some test results and said "You're a healthy, fit, thin, woman at 58. I really don't think you have much cause for concern." I had to stop her to say that 4 years ago I was an obese smoker with high blood pressure and high cholesterol. I told her my husband got me started on the health journey, but a 10 day challenge group has kept me on track. My past health along with my family history has her running more tests, but it feels good to know I've reduced my risk for cardiac issues.
2/24 - 145 - I'm hoping I can hold onto this weight for tomorrow.
2/25 - 145.5 - Although I'm irritated at the little bump, my trend weight is going in the right direction, so I'll take it. See you next round.

This scale reading is a couple of good days in a row of diet and movement finally showing up in a bigger better way. Yesterday was another very good day on both fronts until…..that late night bagel Starving!) with honey butter on it and the handful of jolly ranchers (couple hundred calories?). Glad I didn’t sabotage the scale with it, unless it shows up later……To be continued.

02/17 …..196.0 ….. Trend weight 195.7) Back to square one. I’m not sure why I’m jumping up & down by about 1 ½ pounds pretty consistently lately, but it’s annoying. I did have a late night snack of ham roll-ups which I though would be okay since they are lower carb, but I didn’t think it would cause a 1.6 lb gain. This is probably showing up from the jolly ranchers the other night, but that is still a lot of weight. Hoping for a better tomorrow.

02/18 …..194.2 ….. (Trend weight 195.6) Well, after what appeared to be a very serious house fire filled with smoke I found out that it was my well pump that burned up. Smoke got into the cold air register making the smoke get transferred to all 3 floors. Breathing was difficult but it was obvious it was something I could shut down at it’s electrical box. Now, no water until God Himself know. Rural area here. Limited resources. Need a 1.5 HP jet deep well pump with dual inlet. Can’t seem to find one anywhere in America. I would like new, but I can’t even find one used. House size requires no less than that. And the well man (only one in my town) is not sure he knows how to even install this type. I have no idea what I am going to do at this point. Smdh. No answers.

02/20 …..196.0 ….. (Trend weight 195.5) The up & down of the 1.5 pounds is really getting annoying! Great quantities yesterday. Steps & movement back up again. No snacks whatsoever. I think maybe it was the choices even though I am sure they were all within proper calorie levels. Gotta trust & move forward I guess.
02/21 …..196.0 ….. (Trend weight 195.6) A better week for sure but the renovations are still limiting my ability to exercise or get in enough movement, as well as my privacy. My short term goal is to hit the 180’s again and then hang on for dear life. I am picturing the man from “Up” holding on to those balloons. I need to get moving, hang on for dear life but enjoy the ride! Oh, and I need to keep promises….even to myself.

02/22 …..197.6 ….. (Trend weight 195.8) The well company never showed up for the appointment and never answered multiple calls. Pretty typical in my rural area. Not too many skilled trades like to travel to the multiple small towns that need service. My handyman put in a call to another company who said they would try to come today but we are in the midst of a winter storm warning with freezing rain and snow mix. I don’t know if they will come in this weather. Cortisol and stress eating and drinking last night (chocolate milk). The scale knows all your secrets.

02/23 …..196.4 ….. (Trend weight 195.8) Very low calorie burn yesterday but the diet was better. The other well company showed up bright & early this morning. This will cost way more than I planned and they are trying to figure out if a new type of pump (vertical) jet pump will fit in the space as they feel that will be more efficient than the horizontal pump that I have right now. They will call me later. Hopefully all will go well and they can get me on their schedule soon. Jury duty, however, tomorrow and Friday unless the evening call to the court house tells me the trial is off. Life is a tangled ball of yarn right now but it sounds like the knots are closer to being out. Continue prayers please and thanks to everyone for the well wishes.

I’ll see what the scale tomorrow brings. And Water…..I have water. The new company responded quickly. It was expensive and there is no doubt I will need a new well at some point, but I’m going to make this nearly $3000.00 spent count for awhile. Happy camper here. Jury duty was cancelled for today. I’m not sure about tomorrow yet.

Yesterday I bought a new phone. (All the better to read your posts my dear.) There was a short period of limbo where my old phone was disabled, but my new phone wasn’t fully populated with apps to my liking. I felt like I was in no-man’s land. THAT is an aspect of our culture that I am not happy about.

I feel like the monkey who can get his hand in the narrow opening of the cookie jar, but when he grasps a cookie, he can’t get it out without letting go of the cookie. I bought a new “cookie jar” yesterday that I carry around with me wherever I go.

20: 196.2 Lots of physical activity planned for the day doing some bathroom and kitchen repairs. 24: 194.7 🥚 We settled on grain-free mug cakes in the microwave. Found a protein brownie recipe, and it was so good (and filling)! Went out to the local Chinese buffet for supper. Skipping the noodles, rice, batter fried foods, and sweets clearly helped. I still enjoyed all my favorite meats and veggies. Allowed myself one spring roll because I used to love them, and it WAS my birthday. They changed their recipe (son confirmed it wasn't just me). It actually tasted sweet and I didn't particularly care for it. That'll be easy to leave off my plate in the future. Happy to see my weight down again this morning. Tomorrow night is my fancy birthday dinner in the nearest city with a couple friends. Putting on a little black dress and red heels because why not. I never have a reason, occasion, or even location to really dress up for, so I decided to make it a point for this birthday.

Goals: HIT.MY.STEP.GOAL!!! 10,000/day; <100 carbs/day; Pelo ride 2-3x/week; end the round lower than what I started it at.

2/16- 187.4 78 net carbs, step goal hit, and Pelo ride done. I go to see the doc today. I’m curious what she may suggest to help with this stall.

2/17- 187.6 73 net carbs, steps in, and strength training done. Doc told me to eat more-by about 200 more calories than I’ve been eating lately- so yesterday I did just that. Not surprised to see the uptick this morning considering, but I’ll wait (not so) patiently for my body to catch up and start dropping again.

2/18- 187.6 It appears as though the monthly hormonal stall has arrived. Last one brought on this month long stall though, so hopefully this one will end it. 68 net carbs, but fell short on steps, and postponed my usual Pelo ride till today, since I was so busy yesterday.

2/19- 187.8 Considering last night was my weekly indulgence, only a 0.2 gain is great! I got my Pelo ride in but not all of my steps. My carbs were only over my 100 net goal by 12, so not bad! On to today!

2/20- 189.0 And there’s the hormonal influx. That it’s actually following its normal pattern this month gives me hope. Hope that this one will take this stall with it when it goes! 91 net carbs, but fell short on steps. I’ll do better today.

2/21- 189.0 It is what it is. PMS has me wanting to eat my weight in chocolate. The cravings aren’t usually this bad. I’m chalking it up to being stalled out for the past month. I also feel like I’ve got some emotional things going on that aren’t helping matters, so I’m getting that all sorted. Anxiety and depression don’t mix well with January-February for me. Fortunately, I do feel like I’m coming out of it slowly now though. 85 net carbs yesterday, and tried out our new rowing machine too.

2/22- 189.2 88 net carbs, step goal hit, and strength training done. I’ve felt all out of sorts here lately- unfocused and struggling. I spent some time reading the forum here last night and have rediscovered my focus. So today, I’m determined. Let’s do this, Tuesday!

2/23- 189.4 82 net carbs, step goal hit, and Pelo ride done. I keep telling myself this week that this right now is just TOM water weight, but I won’t lie, I’m feeling so discouraged and stuck. I’m currently eating a higher calorie goal as per my doctor’s suggestion, but I often struggle to get to that number, and I just keep creeping up anyway. Yesterday was the best day I’ve had in a while, and yet I’m still up today. I’m considering giving up the low carb business for a bit to see if that makes a difference. But really, I’m at a loss.

2/24- 189.0 I’ll take it! 87 net carbs and step goal hit. It got up to a warm spring like 65 degrees yesterday, so I went out for a walk. Can’t wait till it’s like that every day. I’ll definitely be walking daily once it is! I’m taking it easy on strength training at the moment. We got a rowing machine over the weekend. I gave it a try on Sunday and have had a painful pinching sensation in my rib ever since. So I’m being cautious with what I do until it feels better. I really do like the rowing machine. It’s too bad I don’t feel comfortable using it again just yet!

2/25- 188.0 I think this is the beginning of downward movement again! 81 net carbs, Pelo ride done, and step goal hit. Overall, not the worst round I’ve had, but man was it mentally challenging!

Trying protein pasta for the first time tonight, with chicken and a little pesto. 2/16: 142.4 - We had a belated Valentine’s Day dinner last night. I made cioppino and a honey-almond tart. I needed every minute of exercise to fit this all in to my calories for the day.

I think I didn’t drink as much water as I should have and felt dehydrated this morning when I woke up. I suspect I’ll see a bump up tomorrow. Did not sleep well.

2/17-171- Went out to a birthday dinner for a friend. Tried to make wise choices; did not order a drink (or two) like everyone else, but had two big glasses of water instead.
2/18-168-Heading into the weekend lower, hopefully that will help. I need to get back to walking now that the almond trees are in full bloom, not only is it beautiful, but ALL of the bees are very busy!
2/19-168-Quiet weekend ahead, I have sprouted a bunch of seeds and they need transplanting and that takes time. Horse, quilting and a walk.....
2/20-168-Transplanted a bunch of seedlings I sprouted and rode the horse. Made keto pizza I believe @quiltingjaine had the recipe link on here; it uses ground pork rinds and was really good.
2/21-DNW-Had part of a steak and some little red potatoes, rode the horse and gardened.
2/23-170-Popcorn for a late afternoon snack. We had rain and hail in the afternoon on top of the cold wind. This morning, there is a layer of frost and I have about 100 seedlings I have transplanted sitting out in it. Some are already in the ground. Bummer. Those next in line to transplant got moved into the garage. We’ll see.
2/24-DNW-Drove 4 hours to meet a contractor to remodel old bathroom in our adult boys house. Took the guys out to dinner and made wise choices, no alcohol. Stayed at the beach, I love waking up here. Sun is out, but it is freezing cold.
2/25-DNW-Stayed at my dads, so nice to visit with him. Brought a big salmon fillet, lots of broccolini, and a big salad (luckily) and friends stopped by for a drink and we got to them to stay and eat a healthy dinner with us. Long drive home today.

2/23 119.0 Fasting since about 11 yesterday morning because I ate bread and felt horrid most of the day. Listen to your body, Jaine! Rectifying the fact that I have cut back on water consumption.

2/25 118.0. This has been the craziest winter. It’s been in the low 30s the last few mornings which wouldn’t be strange if I didn’t live in Las Vegas. Our low temp in February is usually about 42. This week it’s been about 10 degrees lower. I’m having trouble drinking my water.

2/16 / 180 / Up early to ride and then I went out to get my husband a special breakfast for his birthday. Work flew by and then we went to Calgary for a fun dinner out. The week of events is almost over, it's been fun for sure!
2/17 / 179.8 / Off to try tubing at Lake Louise Ski Hill (since my husband and I don't ski or snowboard).
2/18 / 180.2 / Back to work today and then it's a three day weekend since it's Family Day on Monday here in Alberta. The cold weather has mostly returned but we have lots of fun planned regardless.
2/19 / 180.2 / Working on my taxes today and watching a movie on Netflix with my Mom. I have a lower body strength day or cycling workout I can do (or both!) It's the only warm day of the weekend as well so we're going to enjoy it.
2/20 / 181.6 / Had another strength training session yesterday. Today I will be back on the Peloton. We are getting a lot of snow here so I'll be out shoveling that shortly as well.
2/21 / 180.6 / Did my long ride last night (60 minutes on the Peloton). Feeling pretty sore today but hoping to get in a total body strength workout for my exercise. There is a lot of snow and it's quite cold so the dog won't want to accompany me for a walk outside today. It's a holiday here in Alberta so it's nice to have one extra day off!
2/22 / 179.4 / Back to work today. Sun is shining but it's still cold. I am going to ride the Peloton over my lunch break since tonight is fairly full. Always requires careful planning to fit it all in.
2/23 / 176.4 / Lower movement day yesterday as it was cold and I spent most of my day on my devices between work and some personal video calls. I did use my lunch break to ride the bike though.
2/24 / 177.2 / Did a strength workout at lunch yesterday and then met some MFP friends on the Peloton after work. My husband made a delicious roast dinner and we watched King Richard. A great day.
2/25 / 176.6 / Proud of myself yesterday as I had a super busy day and was out for sushi supper so my workout got pushed but I still got on the bike and rode before bed. I definitely prefer morning workouts but as my life gets back to normal I need to learn ways to fit it in however I can.
