❎✅✅ hiked happily uphill in forest…late on a tick in my arm - a first for me despite all my hiking over the years AND there was a smaller one. Hubby saw that one first - then I whipped off shirt & their was the large on in my arm - lt pink swelling slightly larger than a quarter… I’d noticed my arm was sore but it often is so didn’t notice. Going to doctor today to make sure all is ok…it’s painful to the touch.
Food high, but healthy
Am attempt cooking dinners but I have a lifelong habit eating as I cook. My next habit to change, step b step. One thing I decided is to begin cooking earlier so I’m not actually hungry as I cook. If that doesn’t work. Migh cook our main meal at lunchtime when my self control is stronge.

High days and holidays are trial to many of us, but it’s just one day, and nit some great disaster. If we chose to indulge, we own it and move on. No guilt!

Prepping for our Easter gathering most of the day. Tasted some things along so I wasn’t too hungry for dinner.
@Mrs_Hoffer - I'll send good thoughts your son's way.
Congrats on closing all your rings!2 -
another pass day ... which will probably be the case for the rest of the week as I'm meeting friends for lunch or dinner every day this week. At the weekend I'll be leaving for two weeks and then return for only a few days before I move permanently. After that I need to get back on track. I don't even want to weigh myself. Pretty sure it won't be pretty.4

@LazyBlondeChef Enjoy all the moments with your friends as you celebrate together before your big move. You have knowledge, experience, and will have the motivation to reset your habits once you are moved, settled, and ready. Be kind to yourself. What a big change you are experiencing. It is a temporary situation while you transition. That’s my perspective. 💛 Thinking of you as you experience this upheaval and change. You’ll come out the other side and you’ll be back on track. Take good care. 💐4 -

So, we've been looking to buy a house, even knowing that this is a seller's market. My girls and I talked about renting a house because we're hearing rumors about how much rent increases are going to be in our respective apartment complexes. Meg's hearing about $100/month. I haven't heard how much our rent will go up, but we've heard rumors that the complex is going to be sold and one of our neighbors who is currently living in a one bedroom wants to upgrade to a two bedroom like ours told my daughter she was told she'd have to pay $1400. I just checked the website and our model is $1271-$1321, so I'm not sure if the website hasn't been updated or if she'd be charged the low end rent and then something on top to transfer her lease. Anyways, after looking at the cost of renting a house, my girls decided we should buy a house instead. Looking at houses is fun, but not, and it's killing me to think how much we're going to have to pay for a decent home. We can't afford what we'd like so we'll be settling. We've been exploring neighborhoods and floorplans. Found a place we really liked today. As we walked away, I heard one of the girls say "This one hurts" and the other agreed. By the time we got back to my apartment (about 10 minutes), that house was showing online as "active contingent." That's how fast things are going around here. Our realtor says when we start looking seriously, we have to be ready to offer same day, probably before we leave whatever we're looking at. Yeah... I may have an ulcer before this is done. And I'll likely have put on a gazillion pounds because I eat when I stress. Sigh. I'm trying not to. I'm not succeeding. I'll keep working at it.
@seilidhe I totally get it!! We've been looking at houses in our area as well. Hubby is retired, and I'm hoping to retire from my full-time bank job in Sept this year. We want to move to a single level, ranch-style and yet stay out in the country like we are now. (He's never been one to live in the city!) We had to get pre-approved so that if/when we come across one that we like, we're able to make an offer on the spot. Thing is, I hate making decisions that quick - and in this market he's putting a lot of pressure on me. But at 60 (hubby is 65) we are NOT wanting to ever have to move again - so I refuse to jump at the first thing that I see! It's very stressful and then add to that the fact that I may NOT be able to retire in Sept if we don't have a house yet (the bank is less likely to give a mortgage to a couple where neither party has a job!!!! Lol.)3 -

Thanks so much for that. I'm a person who arranges her life to avoid stress and the last two months have been very difficult for me.1 -

It’s a difficult time for lots of us. But it’s just a blip.0 -

Moving house is so stressful, but meeting friends should help, and you’ll soon be moved, settled, and back on track. Sending positive vibes your way.0
