    Happy Tuesday, Downsizers! Here's my check-in:

    4/18:
    Calories: 1,160
    Exercise: 70 minutes elliptical
    Steps: 11,346

    I woke up with a sore throat this morning - so I won't be hopping on the elliptical for now - a great friend of mine who lives in London sent me some medicine several months ago - it's what the queen uses when she gets a sore throat - I've never seen something like it in the US - it's like aspirin that you gargle with - it's supposed to work well - so I'm going to give that a try today.

    @Megan_smartiepants1970 Amazing mileage! Go you!!

    @mszoueb Your gain wasn't bad at all - and you're right, some movement is better than none at all - keep checking in here and we will cheer you on to help you get back on track!

    @lindamtuck2018 That is still over 1,000 calories to burn per day - to me, that's a huge amount!

    @red1185 Congrats on the steps - great job! You will not regain the weight - try to get right back on plan when you have higher calorie days.

    @Gwiz401 No need to apologize at all - and - what a great loss - congrats!!

    I hope you are all having a great day!

    Cara

    I hope you feel better soon Cara ...and thank you about my mileage :)

    Very nice walk!

    @mszoueb
    Just keep coming on here while you are making adjustments. If I didn’t have this group while I was struggling with my weight loss I know I would have given up and gained my weight back. So even if you have gains while adjusting to switching from the meal service we are here for you 100%.

    @red1185
    Overall that sounds like a good day. You basically split your calories over 2 meals. I assume you had the burger in a restaurant. What I have been doing before eating out is looking at the menu ahead of time and making a decision based on the calories. You have to stick to that decision. One thing I have learned is some restaurants list the calories for something such as a burger but that doesn’t included the sides so you have to look them up.

    @Gwiz401
    No need to apologize, th8ngs happen. Fantastic loss! Make small changes each week to help you get stronger.

    @roz0810
    That’s great! Keep working hard and the scale will keep going down.

    @peng123
    Hope you feel better! Let me know how the throat stuff works as I can get my daughter to send me some.

    Steps 5,417

    I definitely overdid it yesterday. I did some mini walks and some heavy cleaning. I rearranged my storage room and deep cleaned the bathroom off our bedroom. Even though the walks were short they irritated my back and hip/groin. The heating pad and tens machine were my best friend. I could have went in the evening but there are usually kids in the pool making swimming laps difficult. The elevator should be working so I will get to the pool. I plan on doing laps, abs and arms. After stretching, I will take a well deserved soak in the hot tub. I always do extra stretching in there. Before that I need to throw everything in the crockpot to make my ground beef stew. It’s so good.

    Good sleep is important. It can affect weight loss.
    Do you sleep well?
    How many hours of sleep do you get?
    Is this enough for you?
    Do you have any tips for getting good sleep?

    I usually sleep well - especially if I'm exercising. Sometimes my cats wake me up in the middle of the night but I can go right back to sleep most of the time. I get 8-9 hours per night which is enough for me. Before I lost my weight, I had a difficult time sleeping through the night. My biggest tip is to get the weight off - it really helped me.

    Do you sleep well?
    Overall, I sleep ok. I will go through a period of several days were I have difficulty sleeping.

    How many hours do you get?
    According to my Apple Watch, my average sleep for the last month is 7hr 20 minutes. I average 9hr 49minutes in bed to get that sleep. So I guess I wake up a lot.

    Is this enough for you?
    I think 8 hours would be the ideal amount for me but I can function with 7 hours.

    Do you have any tips for getting good sleep?
    My biggest tip is to have a bedtime routine. Try not to eat 2 hours before bed. I know if I don’t follow my routine I struggle with sleep. I go to bed the same time every night except weekends it’s an hour later. I am working at getting up at the same time each day.

    Now I am off to the pool!

    Good morning all. The post Easter candy purge has begun.
    Check in for 4/18:
    Steps - 7015 plus 20 minutes bike moderate intensity.
    Calories - 1837
    Exercise - gym after dinner. 8 machines, mostly legs, and 20 minutes bike.
    My weight jumped to 226.6, my highest since Mar 24. I made yesterday a "no candy" day. It was hard with it sitting all around me but I made it.

    I'm here... it's been a crazy last few days (for sure).

    Saturday: We got invited to a cook-out at the state park for Sunday. I mentioned we would bring some chicken legs for the kiddos and I'll make my cast iron pineapple upside down cake. Hubby and I went on an afternoon date down to the casino for a bit (free play). I swear we were only gone for 45-50 minutes. We came home and our dog Chunk had taken the legs off of the counter (thawing) and devoured 10 of them and then proceeded to "hide" the other two. It was a chicken juice stinky situation. We had to shampoo our living room carpet, swiffer and deodorize the bedroom floors due to him hiding one leg under our bed and the other under the guest bed.

    His stomach was so swollen from eating those blown up chicken legs.

    Sunday was a great day. The hospitality and the food and fellowship was needed. Got more sun that I needed (but I needed it) lol.

    This morning we took a moment of silence for 168 seconds beginning at 9:02. It's the memorial of the Oklahoma City bombing here in Oklahoma City. The church bells all rang and then the silence. You could hear a pin drop it was so quiet.

    I hope everyone has a great day!

    @rwood566 Great job staying away from the candy yesterday - that's the key to staying at your goal weight - just get right back on your program

    @melissadreed903 I'm so sorry about the chicken legs - but at the same time, I'm laughing my rear end off!

    I "try" to get at least 8 hours. Our dog Chunk wakes us up to go outside so hubby and I take turns on dog duty. I could sleep 10 hours though.

    Sleep is a hard one for me. This month I have prioritized it more than I have in the past. I have utilized small doses of melatonin to get me to sleep, but I do still have a habit of waking up at the 4 hour mark. I strive for 9 hours. I'm trying to tire myself out during the day so my body has no excuse but to rest. lol She doesn't listen most nights, but the habit is being built stronger.

    I’ve had a terrible time staying on top of this. Missed my last weigh in. Vacation in San Diego was good. Just started new job today. I have several team lunches scheduled this week so that’s a challenge. I haven’t been exercising much as my ulcerative colitis is pretty bad lately.
