The thing is.. motivation for me isn't always enough to overcome feeling tired, stressed, overwhelmed... but tonight I got on the bike because my internal discipline and drive to achieve got me there.
Guess what? Once I was on, it was GREAT! A longer ride than yesterday and I felt much better for it. The mental benefits of exercise are truly great for me.
Yesterday's snow did not stick much, but it is chilly out there! I have to get out for a walk quick while the sun is shining. Hoping everyone is having a good Thursday

It's a bit cold here today too @jugar. Has been overcast which doesn't help.
I'm walking with a friend after work. We were supposed to run but I've had a hectic week workwise, including today, and I don't think I can face it. I will see if she wants to run in the morning, though, as I do need to test the water.
I have succumbed to a little stress eating this afternoon, but I am going low on the calories for tea and having soup (chillied sweetcorn) rather than a bigger meal. The rest of the evening... I may be productive, but I may just crash on the sofa with my cross stitch!3 -
Good morning pals. Still taking things easy with my foot, so I disconnected fitbit from MFP altogether. I think I am going to go back to only entering the fitbit cals burned from specific exercise periods by hand, even when I am 100% again. I think mentally, the full-day burn fitbit calc'd was too generous and letting me slide by.
Yesterday was right on the border of the "one perfect day". I feel so much better already. I did a workout (15 min arms) and yoga (20 min for hips) for the first time since.. March 16th.
@kellie_erin so exciting about the job!!! As a currently "funemployed" person, loving that energy.
I had an interview this morning that I think went well. But I need to get my butt into gear with some other applications because if I end up getting an offer, I don't want it to be the only one on the table.
Looking forward to a walk to Trader Joe's today for a few things and an ab workout. Currently making a warm goat cheese & walnut arugula salad for lunch.5 -

I have been really struggling these past few weeks, especially this week. As previously mentioned, despite triple vaccines, I ended up with COVID. I have felt symptom free for a couple of weeks but have noticed a dramatic drop in my stamina and endurance levels - my cycling metrics are well off from my pre-COVID levels and I am absolutely gassed by the end of a ride. That's not like me. To add another layer, I'm not sleeping well - only averaging 4 - 5.5 hrs a night which leaves me exhausted in the afternoon. It is taking every ounce of determination to stick to my regime.
Has this been others experience with COVID? If so, did it last this long? Did it go away? I don't think I'd be so concerned if I didn't have the data (functional threshold power) to show that I'm down roughly 10 - 15 percent in overall output).
Any reassurance would be appreciated.7 -
Cw is back up at 228, got a lot of stress going on at the moment, paired with some health stuff going on and water retention. Erg
Hugs to you that is not a fun time. Take those deep breaths, and you'll make it through.
OK. Wait a minute. I just went to enter your 228 in the spreadsheet. You LOST a pound! Now you can breathe a sigh of relief, at least about that! You'll be back to where you were soon.
Oh yay! I keep fluctuating and it's been very confusing...at least my clothes feel like they've been fitting better lately4 -

Ugh! Snacked on a bunch of peanuts today then I snacked at night. Hangs head in shame…
Oh no! Well, today you pick up your head and walk past the blankety-blank peanuts. Have a good one!
Well, I finished off the bucket of peanuts today that I bought for staff snacks, so I won’t have to worry about those for tomorrow. 🙄!1 -
@bowens1973 Sorry to hear you are still feeling really tired after covid. I can't remember how long ago you were sick, so you will have to remind me. My husband and I both had a similar experience. We were also triple vaccinated. We weren't really that sick with covid but the exhausted feeling lasted a good month. My husband is definitely more active than me. He was teaching PE at the time so it isn't unusual for him to have well over 15,000 steps just at work. He likes to hike on weekends. He found the poor performance and exhaustion to be especially annoying. Couldn't climb hills without breaks and just couldn't hike very far. Sometimes he would start out ok, but then would hit a wall out of nowhere. We are now 2 months post infection and we don't have any of these symptoms anymore. Hope you get some relief soon!5

Good morning!
This week I focused on getting back in the zone. I can't say I was very diligent with logging but I was mindful of what goes into my mouth. Still very anxious with this unknown medical mystery hanging over my head, but trying to just stay with it and bear the process (waiting for more tests & more results)
Have a lovely weekend5 -
I hope those who are feeling under the weather are on the mend soon.
We had a good walk last night - went to the shopping outlet for a (diet) soft drink, which is about 45 minutes each way. It's nice to head in a different direction, and we passed through the woods on the way past where there was the most incredible carpet of bluebells. I stuck to my soup for tea and, because I'd logged everything, was able to have a chocolate mousse in my calories too, so it felt good to keep the day on track even if there was unplanned snacking in the afternoon.
Ran with my friend this morning - did end up walking quite a bit for breathing reasons and I am going to contact my GP as I struggled to maintain a conversation when running but didn't think the pace warranted that. OH is working 3pm-1am (and will be sleeping until mid/late morning) and I have the afternoon off work, so I plan to do some tasks at home to get them out of the way. Still hoping the plasterers will pop round to quote us, or I'd race off down the allotment!3 -

Biggest drop ever for TOM! My body has responded really well to the plan and I did another inbody scan yesterday. This loss was 4.5 pounds of fat, some water weight and a tiny bit of muscle. My coach warned me last week that I would likely loose a small amount of muscle initially and this was normal. This week I increase my protein and follow my macros. My other health markers on the scan improved and I lost an inch in my waist.
I had definitely become to relaxed with my diet. My son's birthday party is tomorrow. Made a game plan to eat the cupcake by logging and adjusting macros for the day. Then no more sugar for the rest of the week after an indulgence like this. I think in the past I view each day as a new day. Now I'm working on looking at how each day works together in a week. Big changes for sure.7 -
@conleywoods What an amazing week of progress - my goodness! Cheering for you girl. Enjoy your son's birthday
4/28 exercise:
11329 steps
So thankful the MFP issues that were impacting me seem to have mostly fixed themselves!!
We are off to Pine Lake after work as it's officially opening day at our trailer!! SO EXCITED!6 -
The boat is now home! It was an exhausting day. So much wind on the road (the dealership is 2 hours from our home) and on the lake once we finally launched. We're still trying to figure out the fancy electronics on board but that will have to wait for tomorrow because I think I will be going to bed before the sun even goes down!
6 -
@PlaneMonkey that is some fancy boat! And you are looking even more amazing than the boat, I have to say. Truly fab. Yessss!!
@conleywoods What an amazing loss! I love your insights in working with a coach. It is true that we have to keep an eye on the full week rather than just the day itself. Obviously you have been a diligent follower of your new plan - enjoy the energy, pride, and whoosh of success
@pearl4686 - you too - what a lovely week with a good loss. I hope you have some news about your medical mystery soon, and that it is something you can work towards helping.
I had a fantastic long walk with a friend today - it is amazing how many steps can happen when you're striding along talking all the time. I could not believe how much time had passed when we finished! Of course, we solved all the world's problems and discussed all of our own issues in the process, so it is not really surprising how long it took...
Here we are ready for Saturday! Who's up next?

@jugar I will keep the Friday weigh in for May.
Starting weight for May 202.5
It pains me to type that. What a wild gain in a short time! Sad that my consistent losses, while we were preparing to move, came as a result of feeling really awful and having so many digestive issues. All the result of stress I’m almost positive, but sad just the same that to lose the way I’d like, I had to feel so bad. I really need to do some thinking on how I can make this work for me and still feel good. At least getting going for May, it will have to be determination because I don’t feel much motivation this moment. However, you all are very motivating.
@conleywoods What an awesome loss! So glad this is working for you. I am so interested in hearing your insights and watching your progress. Great going.
@PlaneMonkey Beautiful boat and an even more beautiful YOU. That well defined jaw line is looking good along with the rest of you. Have fun out there.
Need to head off to bed. Birthday party 🥳 for Juliet tomorrow and my son has come up to visit. So exciting.5 -

@PlaneMonkey You look absolutely stunning! I knew this already but glad to have it reaffirmed. Boat life is made for you! Our boat is very similar ... you are going to LOVE it! We are at the lake now as of yesterday night.. took a walk down to the water but there is still ice on there. Docks likely to go in around May long... counting down the minutes!!
@micki48 Enjoy Juliet's birthday party!!!4
