Barbara ... the Buffalo shooting is a travesty and our hearts are broken for all of those affected. Someone from outside of the community came to spread his hate. My family is fine. In fact, I was in Cleveland yesterday with my parents when we heard the news. Thank you for checking up on me.
KJ ... I love seeing your posts and photos of your grandchildren! My broken leg is healed and the knees are now better than ever. Even managed to mow and rake and pick up all the mowed grass on our 1 acre yard Friday! Not that I enjoy that kind of thing but I haven't been able to do it for a long time so it was a "good" day!
Lanette ... I'd be a little perturbed with your walking friend too. The decision to walk with someone still testing positive to Covid should have been made by you, not her.
We are incredibly behind on yard maintenance, but are starting to make some progress. Thursday the pool will be opened...by a pool company and not us! Yay!

Beth - I have been following the Buffalo shooting. Terrible blow.
Love to all there.

Good day to you all. Its another hot day today. While worthy of complaint, it's a nice welcome after the unusually cool and annoyingly windy winter. Yesterday was wonderfully miserably hot. Looks like a repeat today.
Do any of you have MFP on the Amazon Kindle tablet? I can't find an app for it. I recently got a Kindle for travel. I like it being "vanilla" for travel, in case it's stolen or lost, but it isn't nearly as friendly as the iPad, nor does it have as many useful apps available. Perhaps I just don't know how to search.
I went out with a friend the other night and his dog "bit" me. He actually grabbed my entire arm like a bone. Now its bruised. It wasn't a play event either. After a few minutes, the dog was on my lap begging for attention. The little jerk.
I'm really fighting allergies this weekend. Nose will not stop running.
Sent the mister out with a friend all day. I need me time. I don't even know what I'll do, but I'll enjoy it alone and quietly.

Tina, I can access the website in the silk browser, but have yet to find an app for the Kindle for MFP.1

I don't know much about Hollywood, but that hottie is Channing Tatum. 😋

Yes, him! And in "The Lost City", he shows his backside....he had leeches on his bum. Oh momma!
And he took off his shirt like 5 times.... Oh and he danced. I thoroughly enjoyed him, (I mean the movie)!

Changed my mind and did Denise Austin’s Body Makeover DVD. I completely forgot to do the yoga DVD. But I DID go for a walk around the neighborhood.
Came home, have yogurt in the IP, made soup in my other IP, now making cookies for Vince. Not sure how they’ll turn out. I probably should have used the mini chocolate chips and not the regular ones. Oh well…..
We actually got a call from Denise!!!! Miracles do happen. We will be leaving for Steve’s on the 3rd (of June), his “picnic” is on the 4th, we’ll go to Denise’s on the 5th, we’ll stay at a hotel the 6th, 7th, 8th, and leave on the morning of the 9th. Denise said that PJ will enjoy a heated indoor pool. I remember our kids. She does say that “he’s a pistol”. Can’t be any worse than one person (me) running after 3 kids. With PJ it’ll be Vince and myself with one child. I think we can handle it. I’m so looking forward to it. Vince is going to drive my car (miracle) so that I can leave the hotel and be at Denise’s at 6am for when she leaves for work. I’m thinking that I’ll take PJ back to the hotel for breakfast and then he can go swimming.
Ellie – of course you can join!!! I’m glad the tumor was benign, you’ve had so much with the knee replacement and all.
Tracey – my craft in the car going to Iowa and now to Denise’s is a tissue holder in plastic canvas. There’s a picture of a Christmas cat. Denise is very materialistic and I know she wouldn’t appreciate something like this so I’m not going to make her one. But Jess will appreciate it I think.
Strung popcorn, made a beer butt chicken, but it started to rain so I’m in the house now. Waiting for the chicken to cool some so I can take the meat off the bone.
M – how scary when your limbs go numb, especially when you don’t know when it’ll happen. Hope it IS only stress
Warning: rant ahead. I’m going to try to put it into a spoiler, but if I fail, skip if you’d like.
Why Vince procrastinates is beyond me. Like I’d like to do something around the drains in the backyard so that it would be easier for me to mow and so that it’ll look nicer. I would like him to do it (of course, I’ll help) before it gets too hot for him. See, I can work in 90 degree heat, I just do a little every day and then go in the pool. While the beer butt chicken was cooking I asked Vince if he was thinking about how we were going to do the drains. He said he was worried about the pain in his leg. Really, the pain isn’t going to get any better if you think about it. And all he has to do is think about how we’re going to do this. I’m not asking him to do it, just to think.
I had a bag that was his on the island for him to go thru. Finally, I was so sick of looking at the bag and I wanted the room for other things that I took stuff out of the bag and asked Vince what he wanted to do with it. Actually, it was only a plastic bag in a paper bag. Why he couldn’t just throw it out is beyond me. Sometimes I feel like I’m having to lead him by the hand to get something done.
KJ – I’m always amazed at your creativity with children!
NOW the sun is back out so maybe after I’m here I’ll go string more popcorn. The sooner I get done, the better.
Lanette and Sue in MO – I’ll bring the veggie and cheese tray to the cookout!
Off to string more popcorn

Sorry: how do I get it into a spoiler?5 -

Yes, that scene is likely what will get me to sit still long enough and pay attention to that movie.1 -
Allie — You are lucky to have a pleasant patio to enjoy outside. We have a deck that serves as our “patio.” We love to sit beside our table and watch the river during good weather. At this time it is raining and we’re staying inside. :ohwell:
Kim — We live in a two story townhouse. The bedrooms are on the second floor. I seem to climb two flights of stairs many times a day. DH spends much of his time sitting beside our upstairs window. The view is very pleasant. 😊
Lanette — I am sorry that your walking partner didn’t speak up immediately when she tested positive for covid. Your DH’s concern is well founded. Telephone chats with your friend will be safe for both of you. ⭐️
Today DH & I are sitting behind our bedroom window and enjoying the wildlife nearby the river. It is rainy down there and we are happy to be warm and dry. 🌺

Well I havent been enjoying the patio..
Machka- i lengethened the patio when i moved in it is with pavers and has that gel sand but somehow moss is still coming up around that is crushed stone and they had put weed mat down when they built it but that was 19 yrs ago..
I dont have the stamina to go out there and get down and pull up all that comes up... thats why i was asking about pet safe weed and moss stuff.
I dont know if im in a funk or what but ive stayed in bed and slept most of the weekend.. its been beautiful out.. but everyone is out doing there thing.. and im just tired..
I just did an instacart order.. havent gotten groceries in probably 3 weeks or so3 -
Mostly skimming today.
Lisa: WOW!!! Just WOW!!! Such a change!
Lanette: The town in the ’Hope Street’ is about 5 miles from our house. We often walk along the Commons there. It’s great fun figuring out where the different scenes were shot.
I’ve had a busy week and am just to tired to do much, so having an early night.

Terri - Wow, that's exciting knowing that show is filmed where you actually walk Do you know if they've started filming the next season yet?
Now I want to rewatch Season 1 and pay better attention, lol.

This morning we saw an Osprey sitting on the nearby gazebo roof. The Osprey was there several minutes and flew away. I thought the nest was empty but I was mistaken. I just spotted an Osprey in the nest and I am thrilled to see it there. ❤️6
