Carol, the short answer is I lost my job through a combination of divorce, menopause, a medical condition, and a bad boss, etc. A perfect storm. The house was way too big for me alone anyway. My dog had a two room suite! I moved here thinking it would only be for six months. I gradually decided to stay and take care of my parents instead of finding a new job. It's been seven years, and looks like it could easily be another ten years. It took some time to adjust, but I'm happy here. I'm so glad that we were together during the pandemic!

Worked today. It’s nice so right now I’m getting dinner prepared and then I’ll go in the pool. No work tomorrow so that means I can exercise. Yea!!! The plan is to do a Biggest Loser the Workout DVD. This is one of the new ones so we shall see how it is.
Heather – I wish I could see PJ, too, more than once/year. Love hearing about all you do with the grandchildren
M – I suspect the reason Denise is more willing to give us the carseat is because right now Pete is working 10 days on and 10 days off. Which means that for 10 days it’s just her taking care of PJ. I remember how it was when Vince went away on business. Not easy. He’ll just be coming off working for 10 days. I think she’s a bit relieved that for a few days she won’t have to get PJ ready for day care, etc, we’ll take care of him. She probably knew how to remove the car seat before, but she wasn’t motivated. Now she is.
Terri – I really don’t watch the news. The weather? Yes. To me, the news is too sensationalized.
Kylia – graduation from high school or college?
Jerry didn’t work today and one of the managers got a full case of cheese for me, the lettuce and tomatoes. I got another box of tomatoes out. I can lift them enough to put them on the cart. Fortunately, a guy came in and I got him to put the pickles up for me. Wish I had a clock so I could time how long the lettuce is in the ice water. I think I’m getting faster at the job and I want to be sure it’s in the ice water a fair amount of time.
Barbara – I would use my phone for a timer, but I really don’t want to take it out by the pool.
Off to the pool

Karen in VA & bwcetc — I like framed prints, too.
Machka — I think of your pleasure riding bikes with your DH. You two have had grand adventures. Congrats on making the time limit. ⭐️
Terri R — Congrats for your town for being granted city status. 😊
Allie — You are a lucky grandma. Good for you that Tracey sent pictures of Miles. 😘
Heather — So pleased for you. Your DH gave you a well earned compliment. “You have worked very hard on yourself and I notice you are much more calm these days.” ⭐️🌸⭐️
Barbara — Congrats on waking up feeling great. 2 AM and no knee pain. 😊 😘
Pip— “5 days to go . . .”. Intriguing. Where do you plan to go? Wherever it is, I think you will enjoy it. 😁
Today we woke up to a bright, bright, sunshiny day. DH is feeling a bit better and we plan to enjoy the sunshine.

New sinus meds are making me way too sleepy and headache-y. Not helping the stuffiness either. Not going to keep using this!
Why is it so hard to schedule an ordered procedure? Different docs I go to have ordered different tests and I always have to chase down the scheduling departments to get it done. According to my doctors, the facilities will call with appointments for me. Well Different facilities and completely different procedures and all I get is a run around by the schedulers. Docs then get upset I didn’t get the test!!🙄🙄🙄 anyone else have this issue?

Been here for 35 years, Mary! They'll probably have to bury me in the backyard! LOL. We love it here and love our neighborhood. Can't imagine living anywhere else. Did y'all get FROZEN out last night? Can you believe you came back to this? Where is that sun you promised?
Machka, I love ALL of those books you mentioned!
I'll add John Sandford to the list though because he writes about Minnesota and I recognize a lot of the area in his books.
Barbara, I'm no longer a para.ASD, (sorry, I tend to speak in Sped acronyms) Autism Spectrum Disorder. I was Blessed to be part of the first middle school ASD program in our district. We were first in the metro area to have a group of six middle-school boys who needed intensive programming and we saw them all the way to graduation. Which, quite frankly when we met them, we didn't think was going to happen. Says a LOT for the brilliance of intense and early programming.
I do all the medical assistance (MA) billing for the district now and have for the last 12 years. It's federal law that we bill DHS for certain services that we provide, in school, for students who also are eligible for medical assistance. It comes out of a completely different pot of $$ than their general medical assistance and doesn't affect their fees or caps. Nothing gets billed to the families. Most don't even realize it's happening except some, who are really astute, and look at their EOBs every month, do see my line items going in and out. So again, I happen to get paid out of the money that DHS sends us from what I bill and the district gets the additional funds. Hence, my "funny". Your schools, in OR, are required to do it too and have been for the last 30 years, but most have just started for maybe 10-20 and a lot have only billed for very specific, related services to get going and moved up as they feel comfortable.
You're a good daughter, Annie. I'm glad you were there during the pandemic too. I wish I could have been with my mom and she wouldn't have had to be alone.
OMG Heather! That mud actually looks FUN!
COLD here in MN! Actually had freeze warnings Up North where Mary's hanging out! Sorry'bout that. I'm snuggled up in my blankie while I'm trying to create some birthday cards.2 -
Our toaster popped a slot this afternoon. Threw out the contact breaker for the kitchen. DH reset it. All OK except for one half of the toaster. I have ordered another exactly the same. Last bought in 2014. We like the 4 wide slots and the bagel option.
Oh well......

Good Saturday, man, I am having a hard time remembering that it is Saturday since I wasn't at work.
Me and youngest Granddaughter after her play last night
Nevaeh and her family after graduation
My DH and I with all the Grandkids including Neveah our new graduate
My ex husband and his wife with grandkids
My DH decided not to go to the play last night with me. He really hasn't been feeling very well with heart and back. I had a wonderful evening even though it was late. Riding in a car with two teenagers means I might have well have been by myself. Two songs that came on the radio elicited some singing from the GD
Late night followed by early morning as we had to be at Graduation at 7:45 this morning. It was HS graduation. Lots of pictures. So proud of Nevaeh as we really weren't sure this day would come. She has an auditory processing disorder, dyslexia, and developmental delays. She is about 2 years behind maturity wise. She has the biggest heart and a great imagination. We celebrated with lunch. Oldest daughter and her family had to leave for a baseball tourney and the play for tonight.
I am now doing laundry, listening to the thunder, and checking in with you. I will say that yesterday was a great day. I really felt on top of things- hard to explain. I only brought home a few papers and had all the invoices totalled or estimated and called. Even today, I really feel more like my normal self. Like I am in control. Weird and hard to explain, but feels pretty good.
DH's doctor is recommending ablation. It would be in August. The doctor said that DH is a good candidate for success. He has been on medicines for 5 years which have worked in controlling the AFIB until recently. We need to decide whether he wants to proceed at this time or not. I have a pamphlet to read first.
I reckon I should get something done. I am thinking a cup of hot tea.

Kylia- I have had quite a few procedures done for Afib. But the ablation is what really helped and ive been fine ever since..
It was a lovely service. And a nice reception afterwards so great to see family.. just freaks me out that now we are the elders..
I bought Miles a summer hat because he is a little baldie... and Tracy sent me a picture with Daddy holding him .so adorable.. he is still a bit fussy because of the shots ..and its the high 90s here so they are staying in the a.c.
Luckily i just have a fan going and im doing well .4 -

Good Evening ladies
Welcome Bodenista just spotted that you live in Yorkshire, I also live in Yorkshire (York) whereabouts are you?
Went to the supermarket yesterday to have my photo taken so I can apply for a Bus Pass. Had to laugh when it was called an "older persons bus pass" I don't feel like an older person - well some days I do I must admit, but in my mind I still think of myself as a youngster.
Pip hope you are okay.
Heather I hope you enjoyed your massage and that it helped your back, you have probably reported back to us, but I am quite a few pages behind so haven't read it yet.
Rebecca beautiful wedding photo's.
Lots more I wanted to say, but time has gotten away with me and I need to get to bed, I can hardly keep my eyes open.
Love to all

Kylia - great pix of your family! I would also be very proud if she were my granddaughter. So glad you enjoyed yourself and had a super day.
Barbara - you asked about using the grass scythe/bending over. Yes, I have to bend over. And it works best if I grasp the top of the grass where the seedheads are, pull it taut, then slice. Best to wear leather gloves and heavy canvas pants (not shorts). I still have scars on my legs from 60 years ago when we kids used these things on the farm.
It does pretty good just "whacking/slicing" annual weeds with thicker stems. Grass is a bugger. I'm rethinking my relationship with the string trimmer, might take a look at DH's heavy duty one. He thinks it's too big for me. Maybe.
Carol - thanks for sharing your childhood. I think a lot of us "stuck it out" with our spouses, DH or I have been on the verge of leaving several times. We learned and grew - it forced communication about various issues, most of them not serious at all, but frustration with things that just mounted up over time.
Pip - Happy Birthday in 5 days. Hope you are healing well.
Rita- I hear lots of complaints similar to yours with testing not being scheduled in a timely manner, wrong tests ordered, etc. I think the schedulers must be super busy. Sorry to hear you are going through this, it's very frustrating when a person isn't feeling well.
DH is ill.His appetite is way down, he can hardly breathe, absolutely no energy. He mowed the front lawn yesterday, came in and nearly passed out on the sofa. He was sick to his stomach. Wet cough. He has not been exposed to anything/anyone, just me and I'm fine,
Today is a wonderful mowing day, when he first got up he said he felt like doing the back yard but soon fizzled out about mid-morning I told him I'd be glad to give it a whirl. He did the first pass then I hopped on. Gosh that zero turn mower is counter-intuitive = I need lots of practice. Anyhow I got the tall stuff close to the house and shop and hope to get after grass near the powerline tomorrow or soon.
I went online with our doc and got him an 11:30 appointment on Tuesday. I told him he needed to see the doc, he moaned. I told him if he was feeling better by Tuesday I'd cancel it. He thought he had a temperature, it was 95.7. I just took his O2, he's at 91 just waking up from his nap. I'm taking good notes and will email the doc before DH goes in.
That's a wrap for today.
