    ✅✅✅ 2️⃣ pass days left

We tend to sit down at the table for lunch and dinner, and I like my food, so I relish what I eat.

I am a person who likes to do one thing at a time. I sit at the table to eat with no distractions except conversation. However, I have a very old habit of eating fast. I broke the habit for awhile between 2008 and 2011 with a lot of mindful eating and a policy of setting my fork down between every bite, but when I stopped being disciplined about making myself put the fork down, the habit has returned.

I eat with distractions. When I sit down to eat my meals they are measured and I don’t eat any more than what is on the plate. I do need to slow down when I eat and put my fork down. In the past I have switched hands to slow down.

I usually eat with distraction. Very rarely do I just focus on the meal. I know in theory this might make it more enjoyable, but I am also a fast eater, do not savor.. etc. Perhaps not the best habits but I am always sure to measure before I eat so I know I am not eating mindlessly from that perspective.

    3x yes

I am one of those fast eaters. I'm usually done before my partner is even halfway through his food. He sometimes refers to me as a wood chipper. :D

I attribute it to being the only girl with brothers who ate up everything at the table so if I wanted seconds I needed to eat fast. Also, we grew up in the era when eating everything off your plate was the rule so I didn't want to overload my plate on firsts. I periodically try to slow down but it doesn't usually last for very long.

We generally chat about our day at dinner but otherwise I read when I'm eating alone as it seems a more efficient use of my time.

    ✔️✔️✔️
Exercise was very heavy today and I know that I am going to feel it tomorrow. Gardening for at least four solid hours (all day) and ended with a walk with Beauregard. I sat down with a decaf tea when we got home and I am not sure I can make it up the stairs for a hot shower. 🥴

I am a very speedy eater and my husband is extremely slow — making my speed all the more noticeable. I struggle to stay at the table waiting for him to finish. I track it all before I eat so that isn’t an issue. If I am alone for a meal, I read.

I eat slowly these days because if I eat quickly (or distracted) I don’t register the food as being eaten.

I think this will be my goal in June.
    No phone while eating.

May is going very well with my
Morning veggie prep habit - delicious! Really helps to have them as ready to go as the nuts & raisins 🤣😂🤣😂🤣
