Good morning everyone!
186 this morning! We love a whoosh. I'm still sore from Saturday, haha. My core and biceps, still.
Today is my kid's end of year party, so I'm getting a rare slow start to a Monday, drinking my coffee, just hanging out. Looking forward to the party, my kid is so excited about the lollipop game, she brought her friend in yesterday just to show it to her, haha.
Once the kids go off to school, I'll have an hour or two to clean house and do more laundry, maybe pack at least my bag for this weekend. Breakfast will be taco meat and egg whites, and lunch will be a roast beef wrap on my low-calorie tortillas. I didn't prep any chicken yesterday. Bold strategy Cotton, let's see how it works out for me.
Dinner tonight will be the TikTok grinder, and mine will be on low calorie bread or tortilla. Or real bread, I need to prelog to see what I'm working with. The grinder salad is the thing everyone talks about, so I'm most excited about that. For info: thetakeout.com/meet-grinder-salad-sandwich-of-viral-tiktok-fame-1849043837
Tag party!
@bojaantje3822 I think it's very wise to move your diet break to when you'll be hungriest. I love hearing about your NSVs, they're so good!
@bonniemcc4 thanks! How are you doing?
Have a great Monday, everyone!

I'm feeling pretty crummy physically today. My bf was feeling off earlier in the weekend and had a negative covid test on Saturday morning. Then yesterday I started feeling off and I just took a covid test this morning to be safe, also negative. I ate terribly both days this weekend, which I'm sure is at least part of the reason I don't feel well. Saturday was Pride and I did a TON of walking, which led to me treating myself to sugary alcoholic drinks and Indian buffet for dinner (which was delicious!). Then yesterday I ended up drinking almost half my day's calories between the chocolate milk latte and hard cider, so I didn't really eat much in an attempt to stay under my calories. Usually when I don't eat much, I get a bad headache and fatigued, which is how I'm feeling this morning. Today I'm trying to get back on track and make some smarter food choices so I can feel better, and well enough to maybe get a walk in or something.
I'm almost 10 lbs down, which is exciting. I feel like it's taken a much longer time than usual to do it, but progress is progress nonetheless.
Hope you all have a wonderful week!7 -

Goal for June low 180 (maybe enter the 170s 🤞)
I am happy that i maintained, as it was a week of get togethers and birthday celebrations, which meant a lot of eating out and drinks, on top of not having a scale to measure at home.
Next week i will be away on vacation, hope to be able to maintain as well
Thank you all for the the food scale recommendations. I was able to buy one and I am finally able to measure again.7 -

June GW: 236 - 240 ✔️
June Goals:
🌷 Reorganize my closet and get rid of anything that's too big ✔️ (in-process)
🌷 Push myself in my HIIT workouts ✔️ (just upped my base running pace! and distance victory!)
🌷 Carefully meal plan and prep ✔️
🌷 Flexibility work 5+ times per week (needs work)
🌷 Read 8+ books (on track)
Overall, doing ok with June goals. I'm working through the drawers I have in my closet one by one, and am putting anything reasonably "designer" and in good condition on Poshmark/Mercari. So far I've weeded out socks, underwear, leggings, workout clothes, and sweatshirts. Still have over half the drawers and the hanging stuff, but it's taking forever because I'm trying everything on and making a decision. Some of my smaller items are from 8ish years ago! It's so nice to fit into them again! I'm trying to do one drawer per day.
I hit -60 pounds this weekend. I've been struggling to get below 240 for what feels like THREE MONTHS now so it felt really good to hit that target. Even better than hitting that number? I did an InBody scan at OTF yesterday and every pounds I've lost since January has been fat. I've retained and even gained every pounds of muscle I have. Since that was my goal, I'm feeling REALLY excited about that!
As a reward for the -60 pounds AND the running NSV on Thursday, I went into Lululemon for the first time in maybe 8 - 10 years? Back when I was at my thinnest (an 8 - 10), I still didn't feel comfortable going into Lululemon. This was when they didn't carry anything above a size 12 and everything ran small and the CEO was making statements about how bigger people shouldn't be wearing Lululemon.
Anyway, I went in to buy a hat because I need to have better sun protection when I'm out and about/walking the dog/etc. But they had a lot of stuff on sale, so I picked up a pair of leggings in an 18 to try. They fit, but were roomy. I went down to a 16. They FIT. I may have cried in the dressing room. Then the sales lady brought me a pair of 14s and they were perfect. A little snug, but nothing outrageous or see-through. They fit really nicely and I have room to lose in them. I may have cried some more, the sales lady may have given me a really nice hug and said she understood - she'd also lost a lot of weight, and I bought the hat and the leggings. Came home and weeded out my OG Athleta leggings from when I started back in July. Size: 2X. More tears.
Ok, that was an opus, but I needed to write this down so I can save this post to remind me when I'm frustrated, down, whatever - that sticking with it is worth it. Trends matter more than day-to-day fluctuations.
Thanks to everyone who sent encouraging messages last week. I really needed to hear that.11 -
@seltzer_lover That's amazing to hear. And 60 pounds? Holy cow! Congrats on progressing on your HIIT workouts, too.
Does Lululemon have options with drawstrings? For some reason, with leggings, I can never find any that don't roll or slide down. so I want something I can cinch at the waist. Heard Lululemon is a quality brand.3 -

Thank you!
I think almost all of their leggings have a drawstring. So do most Athleta leggings - that drawstring was the only thing holding up my pants recently since they got so large for me. I really like Athleta quality (especially if gotten on sale - the cost per wear is excellent), and hoping Lululemon matches.

Hey all! I'm finally feeling a ton better and I am finally in charge of food for the house again. My husband's limited cooking skills were certainly interesting to say the least. Now that I'm off strict quarentine I'm able to cook again and I just Instacarted stuff for salad, chicken, sloppy joes with keto buns, tacos.... I just put the groceries away and already I feel better. LOL. I haven't even eaten anything but string cheese yet and I feel better.
However, my 2 to 4 times a week Zumba class is going to have to wait a bit. Yesterday I did the dishes and straightened up a few things my family left out. I didn't even finish what I had started but I needed to lay back down. Hopefully my energy comes back quickly.8 -
@Seltzer_lover
Thanks for writing your post! It helps you to look back but it also helps inspire all of us. I'm still wearing my 2x leggings. I know I could go smaller but they are giving me some security right now. Feeling them loosen helps me recognize that I am successfully losing weight.

June goal: I am hoping to be 215 by the end of the month.
My scale went down a bit so that is great but I want to celebrate a NSV! We went camping this weekend! We tent camp which is wonderful and I love it but I remember last year feeling like I was getting "too old" to camp. Getting up and down off the camp pad was hard. Changing clothes in the tent was hard. All the heavy lifting and such and I felt it last year. I've got two small boys and I was having trouble keeping up.
This year I am much stronger. Yes I have lost some weight but what I am most excited about is the strength and muscle I have gained. I realized this weekend that I am not "too old" to camp. I WAS too unfit. Unfit I can fix! I was so much more alive this camping trip. I helped my husband do a lot of the hard set up and take down because I could. I was so friggen proud of the work I have put in to get here.
My husband also planned a slightly challenging hike for us. I was totally up for it and it was incredible. I am so thankful that the work I have put in to my fitness has allowed me to enjoy the beautiful outdoors.
I actually apologized to my husband on the hike. I know for a few years I let myself go. I had a million reasons including two pregnancies and postpartums but I still don't ever want to completely stop taking care of myself. It doesn't just affect me. I know he loves me through thick and thin (literally) but I know he is also happy to not worry about my health so much. He wants me around for a long time (thankfully) and he wants me to explore the world with him. I want to too.12 -

For anyone else who might need legging tips, asos has a lot of leggings with drawstrings from their own brand, in plus sizes too. They are €23 full price and I've worn them weekly for close to 9 months now and they look no different than on day one.
Adidas techfit (technofit? Technifit? Something with tech and fit) run REALLY large but stay up well once you figure out your size. The pink ones run especially huge, I wear a medium in those. The red ones with the pink band are the tightest as far as I can tell but the red ones with the peachish orangish pinkish band are almost as huge as the pink ones. Medium fits me in each of them even though I should wear their xxl according to the size guide.
For dutch people, Runes Movement is a great local brand. Their XL fit me when my measurements were 104cm waist, 134cm hips, 128kg, 1,75m so they run larger than even the size guide suggests.4 -
So as soon as I walked into the gym, one of the women there beckoned me over to tell me I was shrinking 😂 especially that my arms were starting to get lines but just my whole silhouette was smaller. I trust her judgment as she used to be fat too. She's currently still overweight, 90kg on a 165cm frame, but so much of it is muscle and she's so strong. So there's camaraderie there that lacks with some other gym members.
I did notice that my leggings keep getting bigger but this pair is also getting longer, there was so much fabric bunched around my ankles now. A good sign, though I'm sad to let these leggings go.
Anyway, my wrists hurt all day so I took it easy this workout and still left with more pain than I showed up with but that's okay. My mum has some chronic stress-related pain in her shoulders and arms so it might be related to that but it is getting less painful as I get stronger so I'll keep working on that.
I forgot to step on the scale until after the workout and by then I already had my coat on. This coupled with day 2 or 3 of my diet break and a belly full of food, I expected big numbers. I was very surprised to see the same number as last friday. I'm not gonna overthink it, I'm just gonna rest so I can go a little harder again tomorrow.
Edit: I forgot to say I still have almost 400cal to eat today and I just don't know how I will. Even at my most ravenous I struggle to eat enough5 -

I forgot to note earlier that I actually lost weight last week! With the trip to the water park for 3 days I did try to keep from going too crazy but I didn’t measure, weigh or worry overmuch with my choices. Then I got home and was relying on my husband’s limited kitchen skills so it was carb crazy. On Saturday morning I went to the scale thinking all of that out of the ordinary was going to throw my weight way off. So yay!!! Unfortunately, my fasting blood sugar is going to need to come down again because all those carbs did nothing for that number.
I tried working today and did a good bit but by 3pm I noticed I was having trouble focusing again. I made it further than I did last week but, like my physical energy, my brain energy just isn’t back to normal.
@sbortnick That’s a fantastic NSV!
@bojaantj33822 It is always nice when someone who really “gets it” notices. I kind of hate when people who don’t comment on my weight but it’s different when someone who has been there or is still working on themselves notices.

Missed weigh-in this last week. Was a stress filled week. Had my card stolen and some crazy charges made, still dealing with that. Also was preparing for the weekend away. Despite the stress the weekend was a blast but it was high carb & high sodium and I am feeling it today. Got in the scale today just out curiosity and it was up 5lbs 😬 guessing Im retaining some fluid 😂. I didn't chart it as it wasn't my usual weigh-in day So I'll weigh like nornal this Friday and hopefully by then I'll creep back down. Plan on doing a high protein very low carb week to jump start back into after this last weekend.6

This weekend I did 2 long walks. So I did my 6 walks for last week and had a good start for this week. Tonight the walk was short because I had my interview today and my energy level is low. I took a nap after the interview. Never remember doing that before. I set the interview at the worst time right after lunch. I have always done well on interviews but think I lost my touch. Maybe I am getting old. It wasn't bad just not stellar. Anyway I was happy I am continuing down a bit again today. I can't wait to read your posts. But it is getting late so I will do that tomorrow.6 -

Okay, so the weekend didn't go as planned at all. It basically went like it has been going for the last several months...I picked my way thru the pantry for no other reason than I was bored and I could. I had Friday off and did great the whole day. Saturday and Sunday complete fail. I saw the scale hit 204 at one point. I'm lucky I'm only up a pound.
But I did just fine today. I dont get what it is about the weekends that make me unravel. All I can do is try again next weekend, which I will do. Hopefully I'll be seeing 199 here again in a few days or so.
Good news is I got 9500 steps in at work today, so I made 10k again today to make 10k steps 5 out of the last 7 days.7 -

Good morning everyone!
185 this morning! Whooshes are exhilarating. What I've learned is, when starting a new workout program, give yourself maybe more time than you think you need to see the water weight reduce, keep at the deficit that whole time.
Kid's class party yesterday was fun, the kids all liked the lollipop game, and they all got hyped up on a lot of sugary snacks.
Not meal prepping has given me more variety in what I pack for sure, but it also takes 5x as long in the morning, lol. Today for lunch, I'm taking grinder salad leftover from the sandwiches yesterday (DELICIOUS, highly recommend- think coleslaw, but better), smoked salmon, laughing cow cheese, one of my low-calorie tortillas, and a serving of potato chips. Breakfast is roast beef and egg whites and an apple. Dinner is going to be chicken pot pie. Afternoon snack will be a Quest bar as usual. Everything weighed for exact logging. I'm excited to be having this variety!
Tonight is pole twerk followed by pole seduction, a class I've never taken before. It'll be interesting, and I liked pole twerk last time. It was poles, but high-high intensity. And those will be my last two pole classes until next week Monday, as the rest of this week starting Thursday is vacation time.
Tag party
@JAC581 I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling great, but you're absolutely right: 10 lbs is 10 lbs. Hopefully you'll start feeling better with a return to your normal routine.
@EDTake2 Maintained (and slight loss, I might add) remarkably well! Enjoy your vacation!
@seltzer_lover whoever is cutting onions in here needs to stop that's so wonderful, I'm so happy for you. -60 lbs is incredible work. I have a few pairs of Athleta, I like them a lot.
@pamperedlinny glad to hear you're feeling a little better, and that you can take control of cooking again. Do take it easy on yourself, COVID recovery is no joke.
@sbortnick I'm not crying you're crying. your husband is very sweet, and that's a wonderful NSV.
@bojaantje3822 good to know about asos! I've looked at them a couple of times. Nice NSV, and nice weigh in! About eating enough: the people I know that work out very hard, eat a lot more frequently. I always see them with a handful of nuts or dried fruit or little tupperwares of chicken and vegetables, lol.
@_manny_702 Great progress!
@Generic_Excuse omg that sounds so stressful. I wouldn't worry about being 5lbs up. You're right, it's water retention.
@KeriA Naps are important, resting is important. Mojo that you get the job, if you want it. I'm sure you did just fine, even if you think it was only an average interview.
@Making_Impossible_Possible I do exactly what you do when I'm too bored, so I'll tell you what I do to stop myself from doing that on the weekends.
1. Big, protein-heavy breakfast, that will keep me physically full for a while.
2. Have so much to do that I can't possibly do it all. Try to do it all anyway. If you're too busy, you don't have time to graze.
3. Make sure at least some of those things I want to do are things that I really enjoy- like playing immersive video games or watching a new series while I knit (the knitting is important- keeps my hands busy so I don't snack!)
4. Drink different flavors of sparkling water or zero-sugar soda. Gives me a taste of something with no calories.
5. Prelog something for dinner that I'm really looking forward to, so that as it gets closer to dinner time, I can say to myself, I don't want to ruin my appetite for dinner, I'm so looking forward to it.
And that is weekends a'la CupcakeCrusoe.
@PansyLass13 Ooh, crustless zucchini pie sounds cool. And hey, actively playing with the kids once is better than not at all! Well done!
Have a great day everyone!

"Onderland! I'm fasting so totally might not be here for super long, but I suspect I'll be well in there by the end of the month!"
That's great, congratulations!!!4 -
I'm doing much better at logging and I'm starting to see some lower numbers. My weight fluxes around 5 lbs are more all the time, but my trend is down.
I am also feeling better (not still hungry) while hitting my calorie goal. Thank you all for all the post, success stores, and support, it really helps!6 -
@CupcakeCrusoe great job on the weight loss!
I ended up having sweet potato fries at 11pm since I just wasn't hungry beforehand. I try to break up my meals as well but there's only so many hours in the day and I'm not a midnight snack type person. Doesn't matter if I'm starving in bed, I will not get up to eat. But if I'm not hungry an hour before bed, I'm not gonna push it either.
Today is way different, I had like 2K cals already and it's only 3pm but I called in sick because apparently I hurt my back yesterday and the pain is just too much.3
