Good morning!
It is 5:10 a.m. as I type this. It is 81 degrees outside. Today is going to be another brutal heat day.
Bill, sounds like you had a wonderful anniversary trip. Congratulations, again!
Dave, it does not sound like a fun time with Sassy. Congratulations, again for you and Rita too!
Not much to report this morning aside from the heat and humidity. Collin survived at his work, and he is going back for more today. I am proud of how he is sticking with it so far. He is in week four of work.
Have a great day!0 -
Mornin'
Up too late last night watching Celtics lose the ball and miss shots. Wanted to get up early this morning to walk before it gets hot, but slept in and am missing Bible study today so I can wake up with coffee and Müsli. DGD's softball game was fun yesterday, even though they lost 8-0.
Heard DSIL's folks with COVID are seemingly doing okay. 97 y.o. Bill was mowing the lawn, and his 92 y.o. wife seems to be okay also.
Congrats to Bill and Dave on your anniversaries. Bill, gonna try me some of those aebelskivers after I lose weight. Lee, welcome home. Steve, glad Colin's job is sticking. Bob, biking and birding sounds fun. Sam, hope DMIL is okay.0 -
Good morning gentlemen.
It got so chilly in the house, yesterday, that I turned the furnace back on. Sadly, it didn't produce any heat. That will have to wait until parts come in and it gets repaired. We now have an electric space heater running in the kitchen to take the edge off. It's 46 outside, at 6 a.m., looking for a high of 62. Not much like June, and far different from last year's record heat. At least I woke to blue sky and sunshine.
We'll take Sassy for a walk, this morning, then I don't know what the day will bring. I do have a woodturning club meeting tonight. I finished a small vase from black locust burl, yesterday, so I do have something for show-and-tell. I feel like I'm in second grade.
Glad Colin is still with it, Steve.0 -
Steve you should be proud of Colin's efforts thus far. good start for sure.
Sorry about your furnace Dave. Our furnace went out just before the coldest spell last winter but we got a new furnace in the nick of time that fits the space nicely. We survived some of the cold weather with space heaters ourselves but glad we didn't have the worst of the cold weather without it. A weightwatcher buddy helped us get a new one.
Biking and birding was indeed fun. We had a nice place to park in the wetlands and did a lot on foot there.
Hang in there everyone!!1 -
Our 20-year-old furnace has a lifetime guarantee on the heat exchangers - the parts that have failed. The guarantee includes parts and two hours of labor - for a 3 to 5-hour job. Since our DDIL's dad is an HVAC tech, his company is ordering the parts and will schedule him to do the job at the end of his shift. That way he can just finish the job. He will get paid for some of his time and we won't pay anything. We'll feed him supper. He's a great guy and we are very close friends.0

Good Morning
Dave I am glad they could get the parts. When our old one died, after a week they finally came back and said the part was not to be had anymore anywhere they searched.
Steve, I am glad to hear Colin is still sticking with it.
We got home much later than we originally planned but all in all, it was a rather perfect time away. Yesterday was amazing. Today I need to get back into some meal planning and housework and try to keep the walking going. Many small walks or slower walks seem to be whats working for my back right now. I am putting together a new stretching routine that is a bit more comprehensive to address some of the recurring problems I have. Really what I need is some discipline in keeping it going more than anything. I have gotten lazy. I will be easing back into my low-carb eating style this week as I ramp up the meal planning. I will make room for some exceptions when appropriate and will likely make a glass of wine work with it. We brought home a few bottles0 -
