We ALL have good rounds and bad but that is part of life. Don’t stay away, stay accountable. We don’t judge, we support.-Jpv,2/13/19

What we need to succeed is a sustainable way of eating, not a DIET we go on and off.

People say keto/LCHF isn’t sustainable. I’ve been doing it for almost 5 years with amazing results!

This is NOT A DIET. It’s a LIFESTYLE.

Up and down - just riding the waves of life. 🌊 🏄‍♀️ (My new mantra-3/19/22)

    6/26 118.5 GKI 6.4
6/27 120.5 GKI 12.7 Can sum this up in 3 words - HOT HOMEMADE BREAD!!! 2 slices buttered and Greek Salad with steak. No TMI in a couple of days Why does bread/wheat taste so good and treat me so bad(ly)??? Not worried about this bump.
6/28 120.5 GKI 13.0 Gotta give the bread away!
6/29 119.5 GKI 13.1 DH has been having balance issues for a week and is waiting for a referral. He just called to find out the statues-in the past it has taken only a few days-he was just told it takes up to 2 weeks to be processed! Meanwhile, he doesn’t like anything or anyone and yada yada. . . Sorry, it’s getting old.
6/30 118.5 GKI 6.4 “Grumpy old man” and “getting grumpy old woman” had no eating plans in place. He ate the left over egg salad and I ate the leftover piece of rib eye. Around 5 or 6 we went to In-n-Out. I got the Double Double Protein style (no bun, wrapped in lettuce) with no spread (Russian dressing) added tomato and grilled onion as well as part of DH’s fresh onion. Cal over by almost 200, total carbs 9, protein and fat both over. This weekend involves stock car races (= possible junk food) and 4th of July community “picnic.” Life is good, we have to learn to roll with the punches. Or as I said some time back Up and down - just riding the waves of life. 🌊 🏄‍♀️
7/1 118.5 118.0 GKI 8.7 Edited weight after 10 oz (wt) of coffee and TMI! I had one glass of red wine yesterday.
7/2 119.0 GKI 12.1 Golden Corral, UGH TOTALLY OUT OF CONTROL! Okay, I wasn’t really but I ate salad, cauliflower, overcooked hamburger patty, fried chicken (1 pc - the skin is the best!) and tater tots and 1 hush puppy. At least I skipped dessert!
7/3 118.0 GKI 8.3 [cal +305 carbs -20 pro +11 fat. +28 (beef and cheddar)] Going to stock car races and early fireworks this evening (LVMS Night of Fire) neighbor made a charcuterie box to avoid junk food, I plan to eat before we go. My original plan was to eat ALL OF THE JUNK FOOD😮 Hoping to be strong!
7/4 119.0 GKI 10.2 🇺🇸HAPPY 4th OF JULY🇺🇸 Yesterday Great Greek 1/2 salad with 4 oz steak, no pita. My neighbor made a charcuterie box to take to the races. I may have had a total 1.5 oz of meat and cheese but the deli chicken tasted sweet. Fortunately only tiny round slices - about the dice of pizza size pepperoni. Did eat three small pieces of DH’s soft pretzel - yummy for the salt, the pretzel - not so much.
7/5 121.0 GKI 9.8 very disappointed at fourth July picnic last night. I had two pieces of fried chicken(a thigh and a breast), one green grape, one bite of pineapple, all the fruit that was left were sweet melons, bread, baked beans with sugar. They were out of potato salad(which I don’t eat.) Oh and cupcakes for dessert, nope, didn’t eat one. So this damage is from the breading on the chicken and a sugar free whiskey sour. I’m glad I had eaten earlier in the day but my stomach is growling now (8:30 am) which is very unusual.

    Round 191
Ended where I started. Hopefully the next ten days goes a little better!

@jlh528: That's my life story. I lost several pounds during round 191 - before the 4th - but then gained back 2 at the end. I did lose a little over a pound for round 191. I'll take it. Hope I can take more off the next round!

💬: Drank some Keifer for the first time yesterday. I think that’s what added weight. It has 8g carbs per 3/4 cup. I don’t want to waste it so I might be gaining the next few days to finish the bottle while only drinking about 3/4 cup at a time. After this bottle of Keifer and some remaining Raw cheese, going to stop eating raw cheese and whole milk keifer until hitting weight loss goals.

/nothing/ Time to buckle down before July. I am eating away from home for four out of the five weekends in July, and the other one is a holiday weekend.
    6/28: 216
/some “nominal” dumbbell work/ I lost a pound even though lunch and supper were both restaurant meals. I have some major work to do if I plan to lower my 10-day average.
    6/29: 216
/yoga and spinning/ I would have thought a pound or two would have sweated off. I did eat back a couple hundred exercise calories….

    6/30: 216
/grass mowing/ My current habit of rounding to the nearest whole number hides a bit of progress. But, let’s face it, when my goal is over ten pounds away… whole numbers tell the story just fine.

On another note, I don’t think eating back my exercise calories is serving me well. Neither is my weakness for salty food.

    7/01: 217
/x/ Spontaneous dinner out last night at a BBQ place with DW and her cousin. Her cousin is in town to join her for a piano performance at her mom’s nursing home. It will be a nice program. They play four-handed pieces, which are fun.

/sedentary/ This round ended with a grand finale like the fireworks last night, but not in a good way. The rest of this month is one celebration after another, so I need to make better decisions.

I like to track averages due to my wild fluctuations. For the same reason, I like to weigh daily so I can see the lows from time to time. It gives me hope.

I know this is a late response, but just got round to listening to this piece! It immediately took me straight back to DD's wedding day, she walked down the aisle on DH's arm to this wonderful piece, on that day it was played on the wonderful Chesterfield (famous twisted spire) church's organ by best man who is an excellent organ player. Yes, thank you for that Jeffrey, really enjoyed it. I'm sure that your DW & cousin gave a wonderful performance and was enjoyed by all the residents, families & staff alike xx.
