Interesting to see all the fluctuations. I don’t usually weigh every day but am approaching it pretty neutrally so I don’t overreact and go off track. Glad to still be below my challenge goal weight and feeling good about my progress so far.
The kids are finally back in daycare today after two weeks off. Whew, I don’t know how SAHP with multiple kids do it. I stayed home with my oldest for a couple years but could not do it with two of them! So challenging. Major props to anyone who is a SAHP or was one.
The weather is finally nice today so I may sneak away from my desk for a little jog. Happy Monday everyone!

Big rains here yesterday—7+ inches in some areas. Our lovely tulip tree, planted 3 years ago, is leaning on the fence. 😢 We have someone coming out to see if they can pull it up and stake it. I hope so! Other than that we have no damage, but lots of trees down, power outages, and flooding in the area. I did eat ice cream to sooth myself last night.
7/07 - 179.8
Good day yesterday, foodwise. And Rory passed his Advanced Canine Good Citizen test. Today’s the last day of doggy school until August, although we’ll still be meeting a couple of friends for tracking. It’s great exercise—lots of walking on uneven ground—and fun! I have lots of salad makings for lunch.
7/08 - 180.2
I just don’t get it. My calories the past few week+ have been well below maintenance, and a bit below my goal, and I’m getting plenty of exercise between dog training and gardening. So discouraging. I’m about ready to give up and just live with it. If it weren’t for my belly, I wouldn’t much care, to be honest. But jeez, why give up stuff if it makes no difference? Waaaa! (No hugs needed, I’m just venting again.)
7/09 - 178.4
Just when I was ready to throw in the towel! I’ve been over my food the past few days and have no idea what would make me hover and bounce up like I did. Oh, well. It’s a mystery sometimes. Have a beautiful Saturday!
7/10 - 179.2
Boing. This is water — my calories were fine but I had more sodium than usual. And at least it’s not back to the 80s! Have a lovely Sunday, everyone!
7/11 - 179
Not sure this is accurate—my scale is bonkers. I weighed myself 5 times and got 5 different weights. This is the average. I’ll change the batteries and see what it says tomorrow. In any case, I’m sticking to the plan, so all good! Happy Monday!

ROUND 189
SW: 180.2
ROUND 190
SW: ?
ROUND 191
SW: 174.4Day/Weight/Comment
6/26: 174.4 i will keep accepting these lower weights my scale is spitting out, just as i will accept the higher ones when it decides to tell the truth. maybe it's all my fault, and i should change the batteries? I forgot to mention my failures that have occurred since vacation. i am ashamed to say i have had a set back in my quitting smoking. i know that i will have to get that under control as well as my eating habits. i have also failed in my walking. i will need to get motivated and include that also. i have emotional stress in my life right now, which i see an end to in the future but that will take a few months. my weeks vacation visiting with family was nothing but smiles and laughter. driving home my failures began, and i realized i must do something besides diet and exercise for myself. i will continue to recognize my failures, but i will not beat myself up over them. a slow and steady path in the right direction is what i have chosen.
6/27: 174.4 i looked up how many calories i should be eating if i am sedentary and oh lordy lordy they're really trying to starve people! i did my check in yesterday and "whoop whoop" my neck is 1/2 in thinner! wow! was that a good feeling! i still haven't gotten back to my walks outside. i did spend 3 hours walking in a circle around my livingroom yesterday, and i think i am going to start calling the time i struggle with the dog to take her medicine "my cardio workout".
6/28: 174.8 OK scale... i must weigh 174.(something). my calories were good, my macros were good. my exercise was non-existant. aaarrrgggh, i thought getting back to exercising would be easier than this.
6/29: 174 changed the batteries in my scale, and my weight remained about the same. i'm owing my scale an apology now for accusing it of lying to me. my calorie intake was super low yesterday, i wasn't feeling very hungry. maybe it was because of the migraine lurking to attack me last night, but it's almost noon time today and i still have no appetite. i was thinking earlier how great this group is. no one is judgmental and everyone so supportive. it's excellent therapy without the giant price tag.
6/30: 173.6 another day of too low intake, but again great macros. i forced myself to go for my walk yesterday. 1.9mi @3mph. when i got home i was questioning my sanity. 2 weeks without walking, last night felt like a nightmare, but i'm sure it'll get better again. i am trying to do my walks 3-4 times a week.
7/: 172.4 calorie intake was at "sustain" level, so i'm shocked to see this loss. macros pretty good.
7/2: 174.0 calories were good. it had rained all day, so i never went on my walk. weighed myself in the afternoon, after already eating. today i will be hooking up with my sister and her family. we are going to a dinner theatre so i am expecting a gain for tomorrow.
7/3: 175.4 that's a huge move in the wrong direction. i went 700 calories over my allowed amount yesterday... shameful. i will be going on a cruise in 2 weeks, i am already anticipating the work i will have to do when i get back from that.
7/4: 173.6 of course there's a cookout today. it shouldn't be much of a problem through
7/5: 173.8 yes, i went over my calories again, 545 this time. if i could have gotten some walking in like i swore i would get back to things wouldn't be so bad. unfortunate for me, it's been nothing but rain and looks like continued rain for about another week.

Day/Weight/Comment
7/6: 172.6
7/7: 174.2
7/8: 174.8 obviously going in the wrong direction, and i'm not sure why. i've been watching my calories. it's either the walking or water intake. it's been raining, so i haven't been walking. because i haven't been walking, i haven't been drinking as much water. i'll work on that
7/9: 173.8 increased my water, and took a lot of laps around the living room. lots of things to do today to keep me busy. only 7 more days before i leave for the cruise. i need to get packed!

Hi All - This is my round three. I've lost a couple pounds since starting. If I can just keep the downward trend going, I'll be very happy.
SW: 146.6
7/6 W- 145.8 - Peloton & yoga yesterday; planned/tracked my food
7/7 Th - 146.0 - Yesterday: Yoga & strength workout; tracked food but 300 over calorie goal. Today: Traveling so most likely won't be able to exercise.
7/8 F - ?? - Traveling; on the road 900+ miles over the past two days, but we made it to SW Florida! Tracked food; packed low-cal snacks; sandwich; went over calorie goals but did better than normal because we avoided fast food. I'll be able to weigh in tomorrow.
7/9 Sa - 144.0 - Two pounds down from last weigh-in on Thursday. Weighed on a different scale. Hoping it's not the scale.
7/10 Su - 143.2 - Long bike ride yesterday, logged food. Ate out for lunch & dinner; guessed calories. Happy with the results!
7/11 M - 142.6 - We were on the beach yesterday. I tracked my food. I went 400ish calories over my daily goal, but got in an open water swim. I was happily surprised with my weight this morning. It helped me to track calories. It kept me from late night snacking last night. I'm trying to catch up on Stranger Things. I'm just now getting to season 3.

Hi, I’m Kathy.

Return to MFP SW (Dec 2021): 267
HSW: 267
RSW: 229.0
UGW for now: 195, then reevaluate
Goal for this round: less than I started with
2022 goals: move more (okay, move some), eat mindfully
Day/Weight/Comment
7/6 229.0 A bit out of control this weekend. I broke my cardinal rule and didn’t log everything I ate and drank for three days. Especially drank. Lots of get-togethers with friends that took me out of my comfort zone. Now to get back on track, effective immediately.
7/7 227.8 Glad to see the scale start moving back down. Had a good day yesterday and hoping for a great day today even though I’m not feeling so hot physically. Meals are planned and logged; lots of leftovers from the weekend but we’ll eat them in a sensible way.
7/8 226.2 Good news – I’ve now dropped all the bloat I picked up over the holiday weekend. Bad news – I’ve also just tested positive for COVID. Going to keep drinking water and eating sensibly when I feel like eating.
7/9 224.4
7/10 225.8
7/11 223.4 The COVID struggle is real here. My husband tested positive on Saturday but we’re doing okay. Fortunately our son is over it so he can pick up food and groceries, etc. This new variant is no joke. I can tell I’m getting better, though, because I’m hungry again. 😊 Why is it that when I’m sick, all I want is unhealthy food?

7/6 / 164.6 / Sun is shining so I hope to take my lunchtime walk outdoors today. Also want to get on the Peloton tonight.
7/7 164.4 / Today feels like a bit of the calm before the storm. Starting tomorrow, I have a lot of corporate events for the Calgary Stampede, and in less than two weeks we're on our way to Ontario to visit Brad's family. Oh, and my brother is coming tomorrow to stay for a while too! Lots to do. I did get my long ride in on the Peloton last night and will try to ride again tonight if I can fit it in.
7/8 / 163.4 / Started my Stampede with the parade.. beautiful weather. Kevin Costner was the marshal. There was a breakfast included with our seats that was yummy. I worked this afternoon. Tonight we lay low as my husband has a Gran Fondo bike race tomorrow (his first ever!) so we are up early to go to that.
7/9 / 163 / In beautiful Longview, Alberta while my husband does his first ever Gran Fondo race to the Highwood Pass. SO PROUD! He has been unstoppable since his hip replacement. Afterwards we will go to a friend's child's birthday if he has the energy.
7/10 / 161.2 / Hoping to get two Peloton rides in, a walk, and then we have dinner out in downtown Calgary with friends.
7/11 / 160.8 / The supper last night was amazing. I had exercised a lot but it was an indulgent meal. I didn't go nuts though. Today is a very busy day - won't be home until after 11:30 p.m. Exercise will all be steps.

Day, Weight, Comment
7/6: 153.3 - it’s time to start thinking about eating in maintenance calories and upping my protein because I want to work on body recomposition. Maintenance calories scare me. Once I hit 151-152, I’ll be slowly upping my calories and watching what the scale does. Also, I’m excited to be back for my second round!
7/7: 154.1 - hormonal weight fluctuation… fun fun!
7/8: 152.9 - yesterday was a pretty good day and I’m happy with the results. I am on a roll with tracking! Maybe my best streak ever!
7/9: 152.8 - I’ll take it! I’m nervous about today because we have a dinner date and I want to enjoy it without going overboard, which is my tendency.
7/10: 153.2 - wow! This is great! I definitely ate way more than usual at the end of the night, and didn’t see a huge impact. It was very nice to feel way more in control of my eating last night since I was still tracking everything.
7/11: 152.5 - feeling great! I just changed my goal from losing 1 pound a week to losing half a pound a week, so I can start increasing calories as I work on maintenance.

07/09 …..199.6 ….. (Trend weight 202.9) Finally day 4 of no TMI and relief came! It showed up on the scale in a big way. Onederland! Can I hang on to that elusive old friend of mine? Time will tell. I have been feeling fatigue and bad cough since Thursday. Finally tested positive for covid last night. Left message for Dr who called me back and said just take it easy at home. No need for hospital. Retest after the 5th day of symptoms. I am vaccinated x 3 but didn’t get the 4th booster this summer due to all those heart tests. Cardiologist had said to wait so I had planned the newest one available in the fall. Clearly the old vacs are wearing off. So far, this has not affected my hunger. I’ve even logged for part of the day until I just get too tired to get up and finish or close it out. However, I know I’ve been below my 1400 calories and stayed within my macros because I have still carefully planned my meals and snacks. Just not a lot of movement and no exercise.
07/10 …..198.4 ….. (Trend weight 202.5)Watched calories carefully since I’m not getting in a lot of movement or exercise with this Covid virus. Appetite is good. I can still taste and smell. Very tired, not sleeping well and the worst part is the phlegm that causes such coughing. Throat getting rough . Feels more like pneumonia than anything, but I’ll wait and see how it is after day 5 is over. It’s far to a hospital for X-rays. Weight still coming down. I’m really trying to work on it. Spacing my meals out and leaving enough calories for a snack is key.
07/11 ……195.6 ….. (Trend weight 201.8) I went over calories in the red by 45 calories last night for the day, so before closing out I did some mild exercise that would not greatly affect my covid symptoms. I did a 6 minute slow walk around my rural back yard and then I did some stretching inside so I could get back in the green. I’m following my diet very well. Scale is catching up to efforts I think. No waterpill yesterday but still a drop. It’s funny……you get Covid and EVERYONE runs for the hills (as they should). But without all that influence, no daughter bringing home treats, no friend inviting you to dinner, no travel that includes restaurants, no holiday meals or social invites, no shopping for treats for grandson that you poke at too, etc. etc. it’s amazing how much faster you lose weight. If I had no social life…….. well, no, that would not be better I suppose. Anyway, clearly I’ve learned the meal prep, planning secrets, etc. Clearly I’ve learned what’s expected of me. It’s my response to the holidays, the social gatherings, etc. that are my weakness. I am stronger than I think when I’m locked in a box full of food and no one is here, but knowledge is power and I know I need to be just as strong when I’m with people who eat, eat eat.
