I'm Christie, an Aussie, mum to the BEST three year old in the world (I am not even biased). I absolutely need to get serious about my weight and stop "treating myself". I had lost 15kg from my initial starting weight, but then started working from home and became less active through the day as a result. I'm finding it hard to get my rhythm back even though I'm back to working on site now. I've gained back too much of that 15kg loss. I plan to go back to basics because I KNOW it works for me!

    Initial Starting Weight: 138.3kg (304.9lbs)
    August Starting Weight: 131.9kg (290.8lbs)
    August Goal Weight: 129.9kg (286.4lbs)
    Ultimate Goal Weight: 64kg (141lbs)

    AUGUST GOALS (DAILY):
    👟 Walk 5000+ steps
    💦 Drink 2L+ plain water
    📔 Log all calories
    🐨 Social media <60 mins
    ⚖️ Weigh in daily

    DAILY LOG:
August 1: ⚖️ 132.2kg 👟 5,500 steps 💦2L 📔 1,786 calories 🐨 28 mins | A fairly productive day at work. We called the bank and got indicative pre-approval for a home loan to buy the new house we want to get - hopefully going to take a proper look on Friday but we'll see. It's actually my cousin's house so I know it a bit but hubby has only ever been there a couple of times! Bit exciting, but also stressful to be going into so much debt. The bank wouldn't factor in my hubby's income either because his business is too new (must be running for more than 18 months, apparently) so it's good that we managed to get the pre-approval considering it only had my income, but all the expenses!

August 2: ⚖️ 131.7kg 👟 6,121 steps 💦 2.5L 📔 1,940 calories 🐨 53 mins | A busy day at work, didn't get enough steps during the day so did some walking in place in the evening. Struggling a bit with a knee injury on one leg and a foot injury on the other. Sometimes I'm just hobbling around! Made some more progress on the home-buying process, closing out a credit card that I didn't know existed so it disappears from my credit report and had the bank's valuer visit our current house so we know how much collateral we have. We are intending to keep this house and rent it out once we move. He couldn't give us the exact number or even a proper ballpark but was able to reassure us that it will be within a particular range - the lower end of that range is still enough for what we need so that has been a relief! Spent half the evening working from home as I left work a little early to meet the valuer and needed to catch up on some work - didn't mean to spend as long as I did, but got the report done that I needed to.

08/01-201.2-(Trend Weight 201.4)- Gradually dropping on the scale over the past few days. Pleased to see that. Getting ready to leave for surgery. I’ll be back soon!

08/02-202.0-(Trend Weight 201.4)- I weighed at hospital on different scale this morning. I’m okay post-surgery. They changed the surgery up a bit. Some for good reasons, some for not-so-good but they promise I will be able to breathe much better soon. No improvement yet and I really thought the better breathing would be immediate. Taking it easy and following Drs orders. Lots of changes in the meds.

I’ve got my calories and logging under control, my macros somewhat under control, my water intake under control. Now, I want to lower my sodium intake and up my daily step goal! I have a doctors appointment at the end of the month and would like some good news….I know I have a long way to go but I have to get there some time.

    OSW: 250
    UGW: 150
    CW: 220
    8/31 GW: 214

    Sore back today 😞

    8/1: 185lbs

8/3: 184.5 lbs ⬇️ Wednesday is my usual weigh-in. Nothing to add. A bit overwhelmed by pending appointments this month. Then travel by air with my 83 dad with Parkinsons. Fretting already. I know that is not helpful healthwise. But take a deep breath and move one foot forward.

@deepwoodslady Sending virtual hugs all the way from Australia! I'm glad the other blockages weren't as severe as first thought, hopefully you see/feel some improvement soon with the new meds - I know these things can take some time.

    08/01-201.2-(Trend Weight 201.4)-

    08/02-202.0-(Trend Weight 201.4)-

08/03-201.6-(Trend Weight 201.4)- The heart surgeon I met for the first time when I was in the OR. He said that he will not triple stent me, if it becomes 100% necessary, he will do a by-pass but he wasn’t in the mood to crack open any ribs that day. Yikes! He thought that two of the blockages could be managed with new meds for now but one was further blocked than the CTA test indicated. It was 76% blocked instead of 50%. So he stented that one, changed my cholesterol meds to 80 mg instead of 10 mg. Added the blood thinner recommended for those specifically with stents, added another heavy-duty blood pressure med to go with my other and gave me an emergency script for nitro just in case. He said my breathing on exertion should improve but it’s still rough breathing so far. Gotta heal up I guess. No exercise for a week and then light moderate like walking or bike. Breathing was worse yesterday instead of better but so far today, I feel a little improvement. Glad it’s over. Thanks again to all of you for the well wishes, personal IM’s and hugs. You are all the best friends a girl could ever ask for!

08/04-200.6-(Trend Weight 201.3)- I am done with the 2 days of extreme light duty. I go back on all diabetes medications today and start 5 days of light duty that is a tiny bit less restrictive. Still no exercise allowed, bu I can now carefully (under 5 lbs) use my right hand. I took my son out to a local restaurant last night mainly because I felt sorry for myself. Just being honest. We even split a dessert. Food doesn’t fix anything, of course, it’s just a band-aid. Feeling much better today and I can’t wait to be able to take walks again and get on my stationary bike! Weight dropped but it was probably fluid loss from the water pill. I can see my ankle bones again this morning and my feet look normal. They always do when I get rid of the water. I know this is not easy for any of us. We’ll get there folks if we keep showing up for ourselves in the day-to-day and for each other because support is one of the ingredients of success!
