Hi all!
Im a little late starting but better late then never, right?
I'm a 42 year old wife and mother of 2 teenaged boys with a full time job & active lifestyle. Im a proud Newfoundlander who LOVES the outdoor, no matter the weather (which is good if you know NL weather, lol). I would consider myself an very active person and I love food but I have become quite the snacker - I don't mean sneaking a cookie here or there, I mean 3 cookies here, an ice cream there, a chocolate bar there, a donut in drive thru... constant stream of treats. I have steadily been gaining weight and I am now 169.2 lbs, just a few pounds shy of my heaviest weight that I was a few weeks ago (172.9). At only 5'3", I am starting to feel it in my mobility and joints. I pride myself on my strength and mobility and need to get a handle on this bad habit before it starts impacting other areas of my life.
My goals are to cut out processed sweets, Weigh at least weekly & track my food.

Current Weight: 169.2 lbs

I sort of messed up the first week of August already!
Was disappointed in myself and felt like just giving up, but got back on track as of Monday this week and will “ stick with the program” and all of you.

Hi everyone, this is my millionth time starting on MFP. Can never seem to keep at it, though I really. want to this time. I am starting this challenge a little bit late, but I really need something to help me get motivated and keep me motivated over time. I hope to really crush my goals this time, and to keep going even when I don't feel like it.

Thank you RubyRed427 for continuing the challenge once again!
I truly enjoy participating as I feel no pressure or judgement, yet these challenges really seem to help keep me motivated.

Hi. I'm 75 and after being retired for a year, felt there was still "more" to life, so entirely switched occupations and now work as a server at an Assisted living Sr Home. Work is hard but saves going to the gym! I live in central B.C., Canada
I'm usually not very successful at challenges but hope to focus on the thoughts and situations that trigger my evening over eating habit.
Recent lowest wt: 156 ( Aug 2021); at first a slow backslide, but it picked up speed over the past 10 weeks. Now yo-yoing between 166.6 and 163.

Hi I am back and more or less ready to switch to maintaining, but a bit worried that adding additional calories back in will lead to weight gain so I am sticking with you all for another round though without a major weight loss goal, just accountability.
I am a grad school professor on the East Coast. 5’8” mid 50s
Height 5’8” (used to be 5’9’’ but shrunk !)
Aug 1 - 127.2
Aug 7- 126.8
Aug 13- 124.4
This weight loss is actually not positive or intended and i was even lower a few days ago - 123. I have been working on moving my elderly aunt with parkinsons out to my area (not actually into my house, i already take care of my parents) and her longtime live in aide quit so she can no longer move into the apt i had rented and renovated for her. She had already fought me tooth and nail on the move so far but now i have two weeks before her house closing to get her into a decent assisted living here, finish everything for the move from across country with no local help while trying to hold down a full time job and care for elderly parents. I used to envy people who lost weight from stress but not anymore!11 -

Eye On The Ball ✅
I’m back to measuring and logging my nutrition.
I know it’s a permanent MUST for me.
My goals stop late-night snacking:
1. Boost protein at every meal
2. Load up on fiber
3. De-Stress with stretching and massage
4. Affirmations daily for joy, strength, and a smaller waist ✅
Just finished 3-days of babysitting my neighbors Boston Terriers, Dilli & Franky.
Early mornings, we enjoyed 5 mile walk/jogs in the canyon then afternoons snoozing in the shade.
Best Wishes Mates,
💗Karen

Going to have to get strict with my diet and cut out breads and see what happens.
Let's see what happens
Same thing happens to me, but it's any carbs(Bread is the worst). If I go over approximately net 30 carbs daily. Even if it's good low carb veggies. :-( My body seems to hold onto them. Even if it's a cardio workout day. My body doesn't seem to burn them. It could also be water weight that comes with the carbs. I read somewhere and my sons agree, with every gram of carb 4 grams of water retains with it.
Same here. Carbs just don't work for my body. Ugh.3 -
We just came back from a very active vacation; i was happy with my step count:
Aug. 9. 19,799 steps
Aug. 10 17,682 steps
Aug. 11. 13,955 steps
However, like a poster mentioned before, since I'm at my heaviest weight, my knees were sore and my feet were hurting at the end of the day. Too much weight on my body.12 -
Celebration day!
Current weight: 203
After last week's discouring weigh in, I realized that sitting in a car for 2 days was the culprit, not my eating! So I'm back on track and encouraged! So glad for the encouragement and support from you all vto keep going this week!9 -
Weigh in day for me.
Starting weight 8/8 162
15/8 160.5
Small steps - new to logging everything, really making me think about what I eat. Very active weekend, run, swim, walk, cycle. Need a day or two off now to recover 😂7 -
Let's do this!
August 1 - 97.3 KG (214.5 LB)
October 31 - less than 200!
Progress:
August 1 - 214.5
August 8 - 213
August 15 - 210
Goals:
❌ Stick to 1200 cal on rest days - raised daily allowance to 1400
✅ Go on 1 long bike ride every week - Weekly ride
✅ Do not get discouraged by setbacks

8/1 213.2
8/8 213.8

I’m actually eating right below maintenance the past couple of weeks as I’m recovering from covid. I was at the doctor last week and he said the pain I’m feeling is pleurisy and it should self resolve. Which I’m starting to perk up so I imagine I’ll be back to 100% effort soon.
I have been weighing daily and seen a couple 211 this week, so I think I am on the right track and not accidentally eating above maintenance.
Hang in there guys! Just keep going! ❤️❤️❤️
Just keep going!8 -

I’m a little bummed and surprised that not only did my weight # not go down, but actually went up. Grrrrr
The past week I worked diligently at upping my exercise, and was under my caloric goal 5 out of 7 days.
Yesterday I actually walked 8km….10,049 steps….90 min of walking at a pretty brisk pace, and was proud of myself for doing that!
Now I did have a couple of days where I had ‘sweets’ but kept my calories in check.
Well ... I'm going to be proud of myself for exercising (strength & cardio) and having much more control over my binge eating for 6 out of 7 days of the week!!
Have a terrific weeke everyone.

My name is Donna. I am 62 years old, 5' 5" tall. I live in the Midwest of USA. I am in remission for breast cancer, have Type 2 Diabetes, an under active thyroid, high blood pressure and cholesterol, some osteoporosis and coronary heart disease with a stent in my heart. I am working to get healthier. I know losing weight and exercising more will help all of these issues.
CHALLENGE STARTING WEIGHT (FROM July 31, 2021): 201.6
CHALLENGE TOTAL WEIGHT LOSS GOAL: Total Loss of 15 pounds to land at 186.6
CHALLENGE ENDING WEIGHT:
Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!
250’s; 240’s; 230’s; 220's; 210's; 200's; 190's; 180’s; 170's; 160's; 150’s
Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.
08/01-201.1-(Trend Weight: 201.4)- Surgery today.
08/08-196.4-(Trend Weight: 200.3)- A very nice drop after a very good week of recuperating after surgery and no travel. I’ve been working pretty hard to make my scratch-off chart listed above a little more honest after I drifted back up into the 200’s. Travel today and tomorrow, both involving food but I will try to be reasonable. I’m officially allowed more movement starting tomorrow, but I did sneak on the exercise bike for about 16 minutes last night. It must have pushed the scale. My overnight drop was 1.8 lbs and I’ve been working for every drop of that! Nice to see a catch-up weight like that. Don’t blow it over the next couple of days of restaurant food Donna……
08/15-199.0-(Trend Weight: 199.4)- A bit of a gain from last week but it was a huge drop in weight after surgery so I think this is fair. I am happy to be in Onederland still, and my trend weight is down by nearly an entire pound over last week so I feel this is most accurate and current.
