I have had floaters for a few years. Have had cataract surgery on both eyes and still have the floaters. My doctor said that they might go away, I might just get used to them and not notice them or, they will still be there and have to deal with them. Some days I don't notice them but right now, they are bothering me.
I did not pay the extra $2000-3000 per eye to correct my vision so still wear glasses.My problem is almost 100% stignatism .

I was born with eye issues, you couldn’t see the brown of my eyes, I was born with crossed eyes. I had 3 operations, when I was 1, 3 and 6. I also have a lazy eye. I also had serious stigmatism, the classic coke bottle glasses, so school wasn’t much fun for me. I am paying the extra to pay what my medi-cal wasn’t going to pay. I never thought this day would ever come, I am overwhelmed with happiness, I wouldn’t care if I end up wearing reading glasses, at least they won’t be thick.

Pip- hope this eye goes as smoothly as the last one.

Went to the YM this morning and when I got there found out I was supposed to be teaching water exercise. I had not received a message to that effect so was unprepared. I taught but did it from in the pool which is not the best scenario for a variety of reasons. However I did not take my water shoes with me and was not willing to teach barefooted from the deck. My ankle is doing very well but I am not willing to take a chance on slipping on the wet deck and reinjuring it. The regular teacher thought she had called me but didn't so just a miscommunication. Good thing I taught for so many years and could ad lib. I will be teaching again on Thursday.

Smokey again today. It gives me a headache and sore throat. I can't take a deep breath without coughing.

Viv like Lisa and Lanette, my bp is always sky high (160+/80+) in the office due to “white coat syndrome”. Those robotic cuffs HURT. I found a wrist monitor that doesn’t hurt as much. Doc said they’re not accurate but every time we check it against the one in the office, mine registers even higher than theirs. I only take once daily at home where it averages 130/76. Hoping more activity will take those numbers down out from the borderline range. Statins not uncommon, but would hate to think they’re “normal” for our age. Bad friend for feeling that way? Nope. Please honor your feelings and find another way to celebrate your friend’s birthday.
Rosemarie good luck finding a walking buddy. It can be a challenge to find someone whose pace and conversation are compatible…

Rori love the idea of prescription sunglasses for driving. The windshield blocks the whatever it is that triggers my transitions so I’m frequently blinded with the sun’s angle is low. Do you keep them in the car?
Katla baby hummingbird perched on the feeder today for almost 5 minutes. The adults flit in, slurp quickly and flutter away. I’m forever grateful to you for the feeder recommendation. Do you have daylight/full spectrum lights in your new apartment?

Machka thanks for Optimistic October. I am so jealous of your “no more deep darknesns.” Our days have shortened and its now completely dark when leaving line dance class at night. Fooey. Really hope you find a GP you like, and soon!

Haven't seen the mouse since it charged about on Monday morning. I suspect it was in its death throes, poor thing. Crossing fingers tightly. The humane trap arrived last night.

I've just spent what seems like hours preparing for DH 's visitors and an 'easy lunch'. I've tidied the house because they haven't been here before, so they will get a house tour. And I've laid the table and prepared the food. Drinks in fridge etc. The ice cream dessert is weather dependent , as they may go out for ices if it's clement. It does look a bit windy and rain is forecast. I have backup.

These are not my friends and I'm not sure that DH even would choose them nowdays. They used to live in Cornwall, in a beautiful setting, so we have house-sat for them, and visited. They seem like a different generation to us. DH met the husband when he was an exam -setter and this guy was the only literate and intelligent one of the board! He is a train nerd. They are vigilant with their spending money.
The good thing is that DH felt impelled to tidy up the front garden and sweep the porch, so that's a bonus.

Oh well, it's only one afternoon,.
