Terri - Yes, do put them together in an anthology. Very satisfying.
I'm writing a little blurb with mine, to describe some of the context, but they could stand alone, grouped by era. The first one in my book, I wrote when I was 7 years old. I can’t remember the first two lines of the last verse.

Spring

Little lambs are frisking,
Yes, it's early Spring;
Jays are calling harshly,
Birds are on the wing.

I can hear the foxes
Howling in their lairs,
Rabbits peep from burrows,
On the fields race hares.

Thanks to God who gave us
Marvellous, glorious, Spring.

I was called up to the teacher's desk because he didn't believe I had written it unaided. He asked me about some of the vocabulary. I thought he was an idiot. My main problem was that I had to write it out for the county magazine with my left hand, because my right hand was badly sprained. It looked like a spider had written it!

My other poems are rather more gloomy!

Heather: As your writer's instincts know, THAT is why I tell my favorite people, what I'm doing, so they will nudge me back to what I'm supposed to be doing. I have been procrastinating on writing the blog by designing the blog, and have let the perfectionist in me beat me up because my design skills are rusty and because WordPress has instituted a basic block design that I purely hate and just don't want to learn. I am becoming a cranky old bat. OK, I'll stop whining--I just need to get one of the older themes that are simple, because the design matters not in the slightest, and I need to get writing. Seriously, I wake up and six or seven ideas for posts are slugging it out to be written, and then I just let them leak away.

I'm also having serious issues with distraction at levels I've never experienced. Since I began this post:

• Because of your amazing 7-year-old self, Heather, I dug out my old scrapbook my mother kept, because I remembered poems from me at a similar age... and realized I was a stone plagiarist. Kind of early for a life of crime, I'm thinking.
• In the same box was the scrapbook I kept during my first marriage, which I had utterly forgotten I owned. Went through it, of course, and then that went in the bin other than a couple of interesting things. Refused to allow myself to go dig out my "pre-Hannon" pictures and go through them.
• Finished my first cup of tea, made my second, sipping it now.
• Started the second load of laundry from the bathroom, as before I started writing this, I stripped it bare and am bleaching every surface in the shower.
• Restrained myself from going in there to get that finished, and promised Egg I would sit still for a few minutes so she can catch a catnap (Ha! Pun intended.)
• I know Corey will be calling soon, as I was still asleep when he left, so he always checks in between eight and nine a.m. to say good morning.
• My app reminded me that this morning is my Humira injection, so I got that out of the refrigerator to warm up, because it's ouchy if it's too cold. Need to get that done in the next hour, too. Find out they've swapped me from an epi-pen style injection, just push a button, to a syringe-style. It's a really good thing needles don't bother me. Hard to get too cranky with the VA on that one, considering I would be paying thousands of dollars instead of about $30 a month if I had to pay for it.

Oh, and the alarm is going off to remind me that my normal early morning pills need to be taken.

Egg is not amused.


That is a peek at the inside of my brain. Makes me tired just reading it, being inside here is exhausting... I'm going to have to train the writer's brain to work in this chaos. If I can do it here with y'all, I can do it over there.

Anyway, pills to take, perforations to perform, and cleaning to do... Oh, and writing. Of course.

Karen--It is so sad those other guys have no one looking out for them. But hopfully this will open the eyes of people that can get to the bottom of what that lady was doing and get justice for all the men who lived there. Thank you for doing what needs to be done.
Heather--Sorry to hear about your washing machine. I too was shocked at how much things have gone up, as we were looking at referators a couple months ago and they have almost tripled since we bought our last one. Thank goodness our was able to be repaired and is working fine. But know the time we come when it will have to be replaced.
Katla--Glad you got to spend some time with DH and that he is doing better. Praying he is home with you soon.
Allie--I agree with Lisa, baby steps, take care of yourself.
I am so happy it is Friday. It has been a very stressful week. Tomorrow we have a funeral at 10am in Lincoln which is about 100 miles. The mother of a dear friend passed away. Then Sunday is church and that is all that is planned so far.
