I am home and had a chat with DH. He is in the hospital and I was not able to visit in person for a couple if days. Phone conversations and texting are better than nothing, but we both long to be together in our apartment. Keeping my fingers crossed for a personal visit soon and a chance for him to move here with me. I hope he will be able to come here when he is ready to be at home in our apartment.6

Had a wonderful weekend.
Slept pretty good Friday night so when mom's alarm went off about 4 AM, it wasn't terrible(not great but once I got up and had a sip of tea, It wasn't bad)-Food program was busy- a lot more families. I ended up moving so many cases of so much food- back was killing me but got over 5000 by 9am.
Went home and made lunch for mom then took her down to get her prescription because her ear is still bothering her(or again). Made dinner for mom and I- healthy and on her diet for the most part.
This morning I met two friends for coffee. We met the first day of 5th grade- 50 yrs ago- It was so great catching up. One I haven't seen in 22 yrs- the day of our best friend's funeral. We have talked on FB but hadn't seen each other.
Went back to mom's made lunch then packed up and headed home.
The room mate was there but never said on word to me the whole time I was there. That was fine with me.
Had to come back earlier that I really wanted to to take dinner to MIL- after such a great weekend, I didn't really mind.
Now time to have a cup of my cinnamon tea and catch up with all the posts-four pages- a bit of a slow weekend here for you ladies Usually there is a lot more.
Hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend
Debbie

forgot one of the funnest parts of the visit at mom's- she has 5 fluffball kittens- So cute and tiny- fit perfectly in my hand-weigh so little that when one would lay on me, I felt warm but no weight.
So tame for feral barn cats- they ran right to her the first time she found them.

Yesterday was a big exercise day. I did a 3 mile run/walk, a leg workout, an ab workout and we went kayaking for about 1.5 hours. On exit, a wave dumped me. The water was much warmer than it should be right now. Usually, it's far too cold to submerge without shivering by now.
Warning-RantSo, the mister is mad at me because I told him I would not tell the gardners how he wants the yard done. I told him a loooong time ago that if he wasn't doing the yard work, I would hire someone, but he cannot tell me to tell them what to do...he has to tell them himself. Well, he won't and I won't, so he's mad. I want it to look nice, but I don't care how it's done. I just want it tidy. He plants stuff and they don't take care of it how he likes, but he won't tell them how he likes it. So, he just complains and gets mad at me. I spent 30 years managing how work is done and I hated it all. I am not doing it anymore. If he doesn't like the way someone else does it, he needs to just do it himself. So he will just have to get over it or talk to them.
I'm planning a mini vacation, just for me, by myself. I've always wanted to go to Tombstone, AZ, so I am going to take a little side trip there next month. I don't know why it's intriguing to me, but I'll be "in the area," so why not.
Speaking of road trips, my new car does not have a spare tire. Apparently it's a thing now. So, if you are in the market for a new car, it's best to ask. Since my road trips often take place through long stretches of hot desert with a lot of nothing, I now have to buy one. I don't want to be stranded in the middle of nowhere at 120 degrees F for any length of time.

Years ago when my now former inlaws were buying a brand new Blazer, we were shocked to find out that the back seat was an option!!! Seriously- they had to pay extra to get the seat. Glad they did because former hubby bought it from them a few years later.

Monday --
Gardening - specifically, digging.
And walking with a bit of running.

So it turns out we are staying home for our entire holiday. We have had an incredible amount of rain in the northern part of the state with even more rain coming this week. There has been all sorts of flooding, roads are still closed and more will likely be closed when the rain starts tomorrow. The police are recommending no non-essential travel at all throughout the state.
But that's OK!
Machka in Oz
One of the reasons that it is OK we're staying home is that I have more time to work on my dry stream (if it doesn't get too wet in all the rain) AND I've started working on my home office.
My home office is the smallest bedroom in our house and when I say small, I do mean small. It's also the most cluttered room in the house. It's become the place we put stuff when we don't know what else to do with it. I would like to turn it into something more useful. It's very small, but still ...
Underneath all the clutter are stack and drawers of paper: documents neatly filed in a filing cabinet (buried by stuff), binders full of university notes, boxes full of other mail and whatnot that has made it way in. Ideally, I'd like to toss what I don't need anymore, scan what I do need a copy of (and toss the paper) and file what I need to keep for a decade or whatever.
My home office has also spilled out to the dining room area where my chair and laptop is (and several file boxes of paper) so it will have to be included in this organisational attempt.
I walked into the room and wondered where on earth to start.
So I reached out and touched the first thing ... and the next thing ... and the next thing ...
It's been like a game of pick-up sticks. Pick up something without knocking the whole pile over.
But it has begun.

I hope to visit DH, the sooner, the better. I hope our daughter will take me there.
I need to shop for essentials, from alondrate for bone density to kleenex, toilet paper and eggs. I hope our daughter will take me to see my husband at the hospital. We both want to be at home together.

Machka - My mom died about 20 years ago. She had a lot of belongings, but there was only one truly disorganized area in the house, a small office/breezeway between the house and the added-on garage. Every time I walked into the room, I turned right around and went to find something else to work on. Then my older brother came to pick up some items, and he offered to help with the cluttered room - his method was simple: we started in one corner, he worked counter-clockwise, I worked clockwise, and when we met we were done. It was a particularly good method for clearing out our disorganized, cluttered space. We stayed out of each other's way, consulted when needed, and were both motivated to keep going by the other person's industriousness. If I were doing an office clean out where the goal was to organize rather than clear out the space, I might use another method, but in either case, getting a clear corner or wall space is a psychological boost.
Katla, I, too, am glad your health is being looked after. And I am glad your husband is stable after his procedure. (((Hugs))) to you both.
