My name is Donna. I am 62 years old and I live in the Midwest of the US. I am 5’ 5” tall.

    Start Weight (from Oct 31, 2022 ): 197.8
Goal Weight: 192.8 (5 pound loss)

    End of Challenge Weight: 196.2
Ultimate Goal Weight: 145-155 (I’ll know it when I get there!)

Weight in blue makes me blue because it’s a gain. Weight in fuchsia pink makes me feel cheery because it’s a loss. Weight in black means no change.

    11/01-199.8-(Trend Weight: 200.2)-

11/08-198.2-(Trend Weight: 199.7)- Traveling today downstate to accompany a friend on a specialist medical appointment. She needs me today and Friday to be a driver. Dinner will be out in the big city. Between that and no pill during travel, my weight tomorrow will be a disaster but I will bounce back. Even with several days of travel, I am aiming for another loss by next week’s weigh-in.

11/15-195.8-(Trend Weight: 198.7)- I’m doin’ the happy dance friends! Wow, all that yard work and good food choices is finally catching up. Travel today. I’m hoping this good news will help keep me on track! I’ve worked hard this week on both diet and movement (yard work). It payed off!

11/22-198.6-(Trend Weight: 198.7)- Well, I didn’t get to dance for long. Last week’s weight was a one day fluke after some heavy yard work. I’ve not made any progress this month at all according to the stats and that is a huge disappointment. However, I can honestly say that I am a size down in my tops (that means my big diabetic belly is smaller for sure!) and my pants are looser. My breathing is a bit better. What I’m really enjoying is shopping on the regular racks of clothing now, not the 1x, 2x stuff anymore. I want to hang on to that progress, even during all the foody holidays that are coming up.

11/29-198.4-(Trend Weight: 197.9)- As you can tell by my trend weight, I have been weighing less than this for the past week. I lost 2 full pounds during Thanksgiving week and that was a real win for me. However, today is the expected bloat day due to no water pill yesterday to help the old ticker. So ankles and abdomen are swollen (as expected). Tomorrow’s weigh in will be better as my medication is scheduled for today. I take it every other day unless traveling. I am happy with the progress I am making. It is slow but steady and finally moving in the right direction.
11/30-196.2-(Trend Weight: 197.8)- A total loss of 1.6 this month. Not even near goal but I’m happy to be losing during any fall or winter months. That is when I traditionally gain, BIG TIME.

Every healthy habit brings me closer to scratching each of these off to NEVER see them again!

How very wise to look back over your shoulder, see a little stumble, and say, "Yeah; I did that, and I won't let it happen again today or tomorrow." That in and of itself is a success. You also lost more than a pound a week for the month on average, so that's something to celebrate, and you also still kept that number three from being the first number on your post. Not much, but still - another reason to be happy for the progress you're making and will continue to make. December is really tough for some folks for many reasons, some of which you just experienced. So if there's another stumble, it will still be OK, and maybe you won't even stumble AT ALL!

    @deepwoodslady
You had a good month as it turns out. Way to go! December may be challenging, but you're up to it.

    October 31 weight 206.6
    November Start Weight: 206.8
    November Goal Weight: 200
    Ultimate Goal Weight: 160

November 1: 206.8 up early, weighed early
November 7: 211, change in medication
November 14: 206.8, back to starting, medication not working, so another change soon.
November 21: 206 feel like I’m spinning my wheels, getting nowhere.
November 28: 209, not what I had planned for this month.
November 30: 208, more than when I started. I really don’t know what to say. I started the month so determined, and ended with such a bad attitude. It’s at least partly because of the medication mixup, but that’s not a big deal. It will get fixed. It’s partly because summer is over and it’s cold and dark. I’m a summer girl! But I shouldn’t be gaining!

Why the tears? I'd say you had a GREAT month! You didn't lose the full five pounds you set as a goal, but you lost almost a half pound a week on average for the month. That's a good weight loss when you are less that ten pounds away from your goal.

If you keep losing at the rate you lost in November, and November is one of the hard months, you'll be at your goal before the middle of January!
