With clocks changing and seasons changing this month, we'll need all the support and encouragement we can give and get to keep ourselves on the courses we have set or want to set. I am delighted that all of you will want to take this journey with me. Together we can do what none of us can do alone. The name of the thread is "Women Ages 50+" but all women are welcome. Barbie in NW WA My word for 2023 is "please" to remind me to be kind and do things that will please me and the others in my life, to remind me that politeness (saying "Please") will take me far in dealing with others, and to urge me make my environment as pleasing as possible (organizing and decluttering might fit in here).20

Did a DVD by Ada Jenkowitz. The plan for tomorrow is to do some HIIT on the elliptical and then go on the stairstepper
After exercise bought gas then to Dollar General for water. Then it was after 9 so I stopped at Brevard Charities, then on the way home stopped at Bell’s Outlet and found these really cute towels with cats on them for Jess and for Vince for probably Christmas. I do wish they’d had two handtowels, but Jess can put one in her downstairs bathroom or the guest bathroom. Then Vince called to ask me to get him some cough medicine so I went to CVS then since I was down that way I stopped at the church’s thrift store. Because a sweatshirt was a bit stained, she gave it to me for free.
Terri – good thoughts for you hubby. Update: so glad it’s clear!

Lisa – if the guy installing the tub/shower gave you a “weird” feeling, why didn’t you go with someone else?

A neighbor asked me to go play cards with her. So….after the pool worked a bit on Jess’ cross-stitch (it’ll probably take a long time) then went for part of my walk. Not sure if I’ll get the rest of it in, depends on what time we finish.
Supposed to go to lunch with my cousin tomorrow.

I am happy to be here. This group is so important for me. I appreciate each of you.
Our son and daughter are in our home in Oregon, packing up to bring our things to Illinois. They’ve done so many things and among them are finding DH’s wedding ring and his glasses.
I am sorry to say I have no idea how to fix the mess with my identity. It saddens me.
Being with all of you is important to me.

Barbie thank you for another month!
I did my dumbbells thirty reps Yay! I'm using my five pound weights for most of it now. Yay!
I ate 1083 calories for a calorie deficit of 309 Yay!

Thanks Barbie! This thread is a huge part of my life.
I might have yet another go at my 'Sunset from my Bedroom Window'. I've had an idea. I want it more post-impressionist and abstract. More 'blobby'.
Tape may be involved.
I did some of my new book yesterday morning. I have a sort of plan, but I'm still finding a voice for it. The family 'palimpsest' is my current preoccupation. The stories, values, histories, world views, we grow up with. It's like the air we breathe, mostly unnoticed, until we can gain some perspective. I will enjoy writing about my grandparents.
Yesterday, I did another thing that was out of my comfort zone. I contacted an old friend that I had lost touch with. I don't really know why, but our contact had faded, and she had moved, so my Christmas cards weren't getting there. I found her website online and contacted her through that. She replied with a lovely long email. We used to be close, and even worked together running workshops, but she never married, or had children, and she travelled a lot for work, so our lives were different. Recently, I have found myself thinking about her.
She is four years younger than me, but, according to her email, has had her fair share of health challenges. She is still running workshops though!
I hope we will at least talk on the phone eventually, and maybe Zoom. She lives in North London, so we could meet up easily enough, preferably before her second knee operation.
I'm quite proud of myself for reaching out. Whether anything will come of it remains to be seen. .........
Lots of love on this new March spring day. The day is dawning pale pink in the front bedroom. Maybe I should paint that as well!
