Why talk about a great receipe and not post it?

Why are there those out there that say I have the best receipe for __________, and then not post the receipe? One poster bragged about a the "best" spicy lime cilantro hummus receipe but didn't post it so I decided to message the poster...I got a reply that stated "she couldn't remember the receipe" but she'd look for it and I should message her again in a few days as she knew she'd forget to message me back (okay). So I messaged her again after 5 days, no response.
I tell you that if I have the "best" recipe for something, I sure know where to find it and how to make it....

For me, sometimes its hard to recall because I dont always record the recipe as I make it. Ill build something and record it as I go.... taste-test as it goes... Then Ill make it again, but tweak it from the first time.... and should have the final result confirmed to paper. So, for me, if Im not happy with it right away, I dont want to share that recipe just yet... so if I post it, usually I make sure to include "experimenting with"....
Then there are dishes I make that have absolutely no recipe whatsoever....0 -
