My name is Willow, and I'm addicted to candy. Halloween is almost here. Everything's on sale. I want to eat it all. Help!

Two fun sized Milky Ways are 160 calories. That's like a whole regular snack.

Then your other choice is to counter it with exercise.

could you stay away from it for 6 days, and then enjoy some on day 7? That's what I do! and what I have noticed, is that on day 7, I tend to want other things, so I forget the things I really crave..

End up not even eating them at all!

Good luck, candy is a hard battle for me too!
  • I hear ya. I have the same problem. You can fit some in. If you find yourself going for more have someone put them in a hiding place for you and only give you what you can have for the day. Eat it slow. Trust me. I only eat Candy corn once a year. So I eat then according to the serving and eat them slow.

I am a fellow addict, but when I experimented with leaving those deceptively "fat free" candies out of my diet for a couple of weeks--I not only felt better (less polluted if that makes sense), but weight started dropping off. Every time my sweet tooth starts yanking on me, thinking of that gets me over it. If the urge is strong, I have things like grapes around to help with the hand to mouth and sweet craving.
  • Have you tried a sugar free gum? I started chewing Trident, Watermelon Twist, after meals or when I crave something sweet. It satisfies the craving and then after a while, I've forgotten about the sweets. Also at this time of year, as soon as the trick-or-treaters are gone, I bag up the remaining candy and have my husband put it in his car to take to work.

    Fellow Candy Junkie :)
  • Ha I can relate, I love candy corn so much I have it tattooed on my ankle.

I'm a tad depressed right now, so exercise is not in the works at the moment, even though it makes me feel better than candy ever did.

Yeah, I could definately try eating some on day seven. I have quite a bit of it, but I always give away the gross flavours. ;p

I never thought about grapes! That is definately something I enjoy! Yeah, I know, I want the pounds to drop. I've lost five pounds in a week, and probably will lose more come next week, but.. Sometimes, it's really hard.

I do carry gum, as I'm trying to quit smoking which is the hardest thing on this planet for me. Yeah, I took a bunch of all the gross flavoured candy to the place I volunteer, and it was pretty much all gone in one day. -laughs-

I love food tattoos. As stated previously, I have cherries on my nape. ;p
  • I hate candy.

The only thing I can tell you is to try to stay away from it. I don't know if you have kids, but I would tell them to keep it out of my sight..
  • Probably the best thing to do is turn toward fruits and veggies when you have a candy craving. If you absolutely have to have chocolate or sweets, try picking up some 100-calorie packs, and limit yourself to 1 a day, just to take the edge off.

Whisper, no kids, and I've been trying to stay away.

Rhogart, I bought lotsa fruit and 100 calories packs today, so hopefully things are gonna change. I lost like five pounds so far, but I'm still a candy addict.
