Today I am proud because...

  • For the first time since 2020, my BMI starts with a 3, and my Withings app is saying I am no longer class 3 obese (which used to be 'morbid obesity)!!!
  • I went shopping in my closet and fit an old favourite dress, and some other clothes I optimistically put away!
  • I went through my underwear drawer and threw out ALL pairs save for my current every day pairs, INCLUDING all the too-small pairs that have been floating around coz "I'll get back there eventually, maybe" - because dammit, I deserve new unders when I lose weight!
  • I went out for ice cream yesterday with my husband and didn't let it derail my mindset into "well I had ice cream, may as well order a pizza for dinner".

Every day is filled with small victories - what are you proud of today?

What great inspiration you are with all your victories. Keep up the good work.

Today I'm proud that I stayed out of the candy aisle (twice) when I was grocery shopping That is not going to help me get to where I want to be

@theslightedgeforever definitely something to be proud of! Resisting temptation is HARD!

Today I'm proud because I am feeling very crummy, but I bought a pack of chicken and veg soup rather than something convenient and way higher cals.

@altariel75 Good decision about the soup. Especially when feeling crummy. I make my worst decisions doing those times because I just want any type of comfort.

Last night I did not grab a handful of popcorn even though I thought I was slightly over calories. I did not play the "well I already blew it" game.

I already mentioned this in the NSV thread, but I thought I'd add it here. My cubicle neighbor has a 2-pound box of premium mixed chocolates that he's been sharing with everyone, and I haven't dipped into it. Chocolate is a big trigger for me, I just can't stop at one. In fact, there's Halloween chocolate all over my workplace and I've been successful staying away. Resisting temptation IS hard, but I'd rather be slimmer than give in and have a momentary bit of pleasure. It never lasts.

@lisakatz2 That was a major accomplishment. I can control myself around chocolate but not salty things. I can eat a whole bag of Ritz sour cream and onion crackers in one sitting.

I just tried on a pair of pants that I've been hanging on to because I really like them, and I can get them up, and could probably do them up if I wanted to risk the button. When I recommitted 3 months ago, they wouldn't even come much past my knees.

@Alatariel75 Sounds like you are doing great. I have a winter vest that doesn't zip. It used to so I'm looking for the day I can zip that up again.

I'm proud of myself today because I passed up Halloween candy 3 times in businesses. Each time I would look at the Reese's Cup and say nope, just walk away.
