Hello again Waistaways. Long time member (2020) back again after a hiatus and having nearly gained all I'd lost. I'm Sylvia, in Massachusetts USA, 55. My downfall is portion control/binging/wine and I know that getting that in hand is the trick to get me to a point where I feel comfortable in my clothes and movement. For some reason, I feel like it's possible again - have had a good week so far.
Looking forward to the coming months and working with you all4 -

I feel bloated today. The beer and wings at bowling last night didn't help, and it shows. At least it should go down for next week.3 -

Happy November! Can't believe I am down to my 2nd-to-last page in my habit tracker. Lots of stuff has been going on the last 18 months (it was a 20 page tracker).
Thanks for the bday wishes! The weekend was really fun - a lot of work organizing meals for 14 people - but happy I actually made my vision come to life from months and months ago for the big 3-0.
I don't really think I can hold onto my nice drop in weight from last week, considering I came home with extra bday cake and a casserole dish of potatoes... but I will be good with movement this week at least, as it is the last week of my 6 week challenge! Really proud of myself that I only got off schedule 1 day and made it up over the nearest weekend. Today was a "pick one of the workouts from earlier in the challenge to see how you have progressed" instead of a new workout. The one I chose to re-do was just as motivating this time, but I definitely felt better in the movements! Might bookmark it and come back to it a few times a month. I used to have bad form for deadlifts and now I legitimately love them.
Caught up on posts from the Oct chain. @EvMakesChanges very sorry to hear about your wife's diagnosis, I can't really imagine what you are going through, but really inspiring that you took on this move and are getting back into some group music. Sending hugs.
Oh, sorry, duh - intro! I'm Kay, 30 as of 5 days ago, living alone in Boston and working in finance downtown. Love my home workouts, but struggle with binge eating. I don't think I have mini goals for this week/month, but I am trying to keep the momentum going with my daily habits. It's hard when I start the month on a weekend out of town, but not letting that discourage me.2 -
wow I had all that typed out days ago and never posted it ^^^ !!! hate when I do that2

Sorry I haven't been posting much this week, it's been busy. I give props to people who work full time, cook, clean, take care of kids. It is way too much for 1 person!! Work unfortunately has been extra busy as well. My husband's grandma who has dementia fell and broke her ankle and is in the hospital. She will probably have surgery on Monday. Hubby has PT that day and his mom was going to take him but now she can't. I'm hoping we can figure something out so I don't have to miss work.
With all this stress, I completely binged today. They brought us panera and it wasn't bagels...it was the delicious bakery items: muffins, cinnamon rolls, croissants. They did bring a greek yogurt parfait which was delicious as well. But my weight is continuing to creep up which is not great.
I need to get my train back on track. I know we've had a lot of red this week so far, so I'm not alone.
Any tips from folks in the green this week? @Lyss983 @eggfreak

My train has been off track for the last 8 months...just managed to get it back on in the last week and being busy at work and the work schedule helped stick to my planned, weighed,meals- now I'm at the weekend which can be challenging when the day isn't so structured.
I had a lot of carrots in the fridge - so brought one every day to work, peeled and sliced into little 'coins' to snack on.
@lauren_989 busy chaos like you've got going on makes it challenging - especially when a platter of sweetstuff arrives. Hope things smooth out for you in the coming week and...back on track.3 -
sorry to hear about your hubby's grandma @lauren_989 .... those moments make for such a stressful time in life. Hoping she makes out okay with the surgery.

Happy Friday all. I'm happy with my first week. I know a lot of water drops off your first week. The challenge will be continuing to eat healthy, get my steps in and drink my water. I stopped eating junk and toned down the alcohol (we love wine). My goal this past week was to get my water in. Unfortunately, I didn't hit my water goal but I did drink more than I usually do (which is just a glass or 2 a day). I bought a cute water container yesterday, that I can take with me everywhere. Hopefully, that helps.2 -
@leni1us We love wine too!
And then after wine, snacks always sound better.
Tonight Brad and I fly to Ontario to visit his family.
Back late Tuesday.
Don't forget to report your steps for week 1 (Nov 3-9) starting on Sunday but note I won't be able to get the report out until a bit later next week!2 -

October was a month where I plateaued. And, it made sense. I pulled a muscle in my back, and I was unable to work out for about a week, I had a lot of travel during the month, and a lot of social events. It was hard not to feel discouraged every time the scale moved between 1 and 2 pounds, but I told myself that plateau happens and the trick is to acknowledge them, and move through them. That mentality helped me get back on track where I was able to work out five times this week and last week, and I was more diligent in my food logging.
Today I have my usual Saturday spin class and I also have a Friendsgiving. I already spoke with my dietitian and we came up with a plan for how to tackle all of the food that will be present today and I’m going to focus on the foods that really bring me joy, but in moderation. So for example, I love cornbread so I will be having a piece of cornbread, but I will then focus a lot on other greens, like a salad or brussels sprouts.
This upcoming week I have a lot of travel for work. I will be on the road every single day so we also talked about snacks that are protein dense that I can bring with me while I am traveling and may not need refrigeration.
I hope everyone has a good week! 😊4 -
