Hi I am in perimeno.
Have always had issues losing weight and have yoyoed between 10 and 11. I was working out regularly at the gym.for about 2 years slowlt stopped due to joint pains. Last year was 11 ½. Have gained 21lb in a year. I know what the causes are; lacking workouts, snacking, drinking too much binge eating issues. Back on calorie count with higher protien intake. Also working out at home again now. My target is to get to 11 I would love to make it to 10 but trying to be realistic. 😊

Hi!
peri and menopause hit me hard too. I’m 54 now and after a year of very careful, intentional eating, I’m back at a healthy weight, but I’m always going to fight my eating compulsions. Why is it so much easier to grab chips over a cucumber?!?!
I’m trying to hit the gym or home workout for strength training 4x a week to maintain/build muscle as I’m getting older. I would love accountability if you are looking for an accountability partner that’s not a friend/partner. That has never worked for me in the past.1 -
Cards have always been a gateway food for me. I can't touch bread unless I want to slip into a binge phase. We cook a lot from.sctratch and lovely healthy foods but I am 5'2" and can eat like a 6'7" rugby player 😆. So back to checking in with calories. Work outs at home I am doing yoga weights and exercise bike. Would love to have folks to share accountability and encouragement with. I know how bumpy this road can be as well as how sucessfull. I will be taking back control of my will power and determination.

I started at 56, obese and sedentary. Now 63, and have been in maintenance almost six years.
For me, the gain wasn’t due to my body rebelling, it was by me complacently slipping into my dotage. Just like me mom told me, right? “You’ll be fat like me.”
Turns out it was utter lack of exercise and many thousands of calories of junk food per day.
Treat yourself as your second job or retirement project. set goals. Stop making excuses Hungry? Take the dog for a walk and have a glass of water when you get back Still hungry? Have some nutritious, quick prep snacks on hand.I can have oil free popcorn in a bowl in less than four minutes. Cheese and crackers just takes one A bowl of fruit and cottage cheese? Ready in a jiffy An easy, high protein (and thus super filling!) smoothie of cottage cheese, chocolate peanut butter powder and a frozen banana? How fast can I load the nutribullet.
Sit down and pay some attention to yourself I bet you haven’t done that in years!!!!
You don’t have to be perfect today or tomorrow But what can you do to improve today?1
