Church, then an easy hike and this evening DD's for dinner. Will get to bed early for an early start in the morning for the long drive to northern Maine. Most camping stuff is packed except clothing. It will get down to the 30's overnight, so I have to have some winter clothing.

    Good morning!

Mike, that sounds just awesome with the cold, crisp nights. I hope that you have a fantastic time out in the wilderness.

I finally got our yard mowed, and the widow neighbor's yard mowed. The grass was too tall. I'll mow again in a couple of weeks to stay on top of the leaves that are falling. Most of our trees are still green. I will do some weed whacking tomorrow if my shoulder is still pain free. My shoulder is stiff this morning from yesterday's work. I also trimmed a tree yesterday with my chainsaw.

Today is Sunday rest day. Church this morning, and Chiefs this afternoon. Nap in between. My kind of day.

Dave, it is good to hear that you are feeling better. Bill, I hope that you are feeling better too.

    Have a great day!

    Mornin' gents.

Home from the Finger Lakes region. My old girl ran pretty good, but I made a huge mistake as her handler and it took us out of the running for ribbon consideration. Lots of driving in a short time, drove over Friday afternoon and then back yesterday afternoon. 10 plus hours combined. Traffic wasn't too horrible. Next trial in two weeks will be closer to home.

Mowing laid up neighbor's yard and widow's yard is good for your karma.

Glad to hear that shoulder is doing better, Steve.

    How's the head feeling, Dave?

Bill, do you just like tri-tip or is it the most economical cut? Like flank steak, a well trimmed tri-tip is zero points, per WW.

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Good morning gentlemen.

Still congested and coughing. This thing seems endless - 10 days and counting. I'll stay home from church again.

Enjoyed watching the Ducks win an exciting game last night.

I have a request for four small bowls to be used at our church. I might work on that today, as the Seahawks already played.

    Good Morning

I completely forgot about the Ducks game last night. I will try to find a stream.

Have a great trip Mike. I only camped once in cold temperatures. Getting up in the frigid morning to get the fire going was not pleasant. We stopped camping much after that.

I am slowly improving with my gut settling down a bit and sinus congestion improving some but I am amazingly tired. Rested and read most of yesterday. Having a more settled gut helps alot as that drags me down. The post cancer treatment gift that keeps on giving. Today I will attempt some light housework and rest to keep moving forward. It has been a while since I have had a cold like this. Remember those days when you could work through these or at worse take 1 day off and be good to go?

I cook tri-tips because they were commonly available in California from which they originated (In Santa Maria). However, they need some fat cap on them to keep from drying out. They are best grilled low and slow. I buy them when they are on sale and stock up a bit. Often they are available untrimmed and you need to cut a lot of fat off. Yesterdays was a large one 4.5lbs but I trimmed 1.5lb off, perhaps a bit too much. I am waiting for another sale.

Oh my Oh my Bill THE best game ever!!! Certainly as ggood as it gets. I know the Penn State Fans are disappointed. Both my DD who graduated from Univ of Oregon and I just about had a few heart attacks along the way. I gotta hand it to the coach that he totally prepared the team to stay focused and deal with the 112,000 fans!! they had some signals the Center passed along to the linemen etc.

Mike the camping sounds "crisp" and fall-like for sure!!

Yea the Seahawks are off today.

Had a nice ride up to Skyline yesterday on my bike. Vine maple is starting to change and some Euonymus bushes too ("burning bush" plant).

Said my prayers for a recently departed soul whose life was being celebrated.
