Mornin'. Gray skies, 45º, but rain seems to have stopped. Areas SE of here got over 5" of rain; us, maybe 2". That will backfill the rivers and reservoirs a little. Bible study this morning—hopefully no birthday cake will be offered this week.

I was able to detox from my phone a few days while I was camping, now working on cutting way back on this nonsense. Who invented these infernal contraptions anyway?

Sam, glad DMIL is more stable. Hope she is able to be more happy there.

Realizing I need to take a stepwise approach to house hunting. First, get my own place up to snuff with repairs; meanwhile assess finances to get an idea of what could be affordable. Learn better how to go about the home buying process. Scope out the market to see what is typically offered. Then, after my ducks are in a row, start looking in locations that make sense for my life situation.

Yesterday was an off the rails food day. Plus awful weather so didn't get out for a walk. Back on track today… Onward and downward.

    Mornin' gents.

Not sure how much rain we actually got, but not much. A lot of wind. Lost a dogwood hybrid tree in the yard, it snapped off right at the base. I had actually pruned it pretty aggressively after it flowered this spring, but evidently not enough.

Lost power for a bit at the house while at work yesterday. Came home to blinking clock.

Venison bourguignon was delicious. Very low point, venison back strap is super lean like pork tenderloin. I put into the recipe builder and it is like 2 pts a cup. I had like 4 cups last night.

    Onward and downward ;-)

    Good morning!

I'm glad that you guys have survived the worst of the storm.

Mike, house hunting sounds no fun to me. I whine about ours from time to time, but we've lived here for 30 years now. I can't imagine moving at this point.

I can't seem to get my weight down at all. It has been steady within two pounds since I broke my rib last December.

Pookie, our 13 year old cat is headed to Banfield this morning for shots. It is always a fun time getting her into the cat carrier.

I'm not so much addicted to my phone as I am to my computer. In 2019, I started playing a game on the computer called Forge of Empires. It is a city building game. I've thought about quitting it many times. I've even deleted my city several times, only to start a new one a day later. I play that darned game 2 or more hours a day. I sometimes envision what I could do with that time, but then I keep on playing. I often think I could do so many more things if I were not playing that game, but then I also think that I'm retired now, so does it matter?

Sam, we've had our sleep number bed for getting close to 10 years now. We still like it, but are wondering if it is about time to be thinking of another bed.

    Have a great day!

    Good morning gentlemen.

Mariner madness is taking over the PNW.

We have our first frost of the season this morning. We carried sensitive container plants inside last night, and Rita put a blanket over her Japanese eggplants.

    What's the puppy situation, Lee?

40s here no frost like Dave. Yup Mariners are amazing. Seahawks did well too!

Sorry about losing your Dogwood Lee. Venison sounds great!!

Spent hours at the eye Doc who was consulting with another specialist. They both think I should have another small biopsy at the edge of the cornea where it meets the sclera (white part) but not before my trip to California for what I call my "Dino Dinner" at our small but albeit special museum. We recently exceeded all standards for registration as a museum of merit in the US and have achieve some worldwide notice after our tour in Japan with our Baby Hadrosaur skeleton. We enjoy going on trips with "our" museum and our annual dinner in Claremont California.

will have Biopsy later to rule in/out recurrent Squamous Cell Carcinoma in situ.

Today I have a cancer surgery on a Squamous Cell spot near my right wrist which was biopsied but not with complete margins before. A different eye appt on thursday.

    Busy Week

    Good Afternoon,

Prayers Bob, agree you need to control and not let cancer rule life.

Had an appointment at UCBC for 10:50, we left house at 9:50, finally made it 11:20, GA DOT had traffic backed up for miles while they worked on one of North bound lanes where there are passing lanes. I would ask why they had road shut down to one lane, but knowing many DOT workers why waste time or effort. Joanne is now down to 8 more radiation treatments.

Have an appointment 20th for ordering hearing aids, promise once I get them, I will not give away till I get new ones.

Congrats to Lucy and Lee, liter of 5 males.

    Good Morning

We have had our sleep number bed for over 15 years. Still like it. When the remote died they gave us a new one and sent a new pump. New remotes are not compatible with the old pumps. I imagine if it where to die, we would likely get another one since I like it more firm and Heather more not. Busy & productive day yesterday. Since I am feeling much better I was able to get several things done around the house. It was also the last of my 6 week group dulcimer lessons. She left time for general questions which was great. It was also a beautiful calm evening so I was able to reverse sear a tri-tip which came out great. Its a lot easier when winds aren't turbo charging the coals. I leave in a couple hours for the airport to get Heather. Dinner and a movie tonight to welcome her home. Tonight's movie is The Philadelphia Story. Part of a weekly Tuesday series at the cinema.
