Nice, sunny, fall hike with DS yesterday afternoon. 3 miles, 450 feet up to rocky cliffs where porcupine dens in caves, mostly pine woods with remaining yellow and red leaves in between here and there. We got enough rain that the brook was cascading down the mossy rocks. Two beaver ponds. Peaceful place.

Need to get my hair cut today and pack clothes, tomorrow leave for Cape Cod and other DS's wedding. A pre-wedding dinner tomorrow night, breakfast on the beach Sat. morning, pictures on the beach afternoon and wedding Sat. evening. Drive home Sunday if I'm still standing.

Sam, good luck to your DW as she finishes her treatments.

    Good morning gentlemen.

Well, I had no effects from our Covid and flu vaccinations, but my DW was not so lucky. She ran a fever all day yesterday and spent the day feeling lousy. We missed DGD's concert. I did go to the X-country meet. Despite the rainy forecast the sun shone the whole time. DGD got tangled up near the start of the race and sprained her ankle, but she toughed it out and finished the race. Best part was seeing all the other 6th grade girls on the team coming over to give her hugs after the race.

    Enjoy the wedding festivities, Mike.

    Good morning!

Sorry to hear that Rita didn't take the shot well. I still need to get mine before it gets too late in the season. Connie won't get the shots because they make her sick like with Rita.

Sam, prayers continue for Joanne. What hearing aid did you go with? I have Miracle Ear, but might consider something else next round?

Small stuff around the house today. Connie's mom used to be a painter/artist. One of her paintings even graced the cover of a phone book once. Another of her paintings had a note on the back that said to please return the painting to the family once she passed. Mom's been gone for six years now. A family friend found this painting and is returning it to us this afternoon. We don't even know which painting it is. It is nice the friend was honest about returning it.

Mike, and Dave, your hikes sound awesome. Keep telling us about your hikes!

    Have a great day1

Wow sorry I missed yesterday and will be out of touch for a few days in Claremont CA.

Quite the hike Mike!! Purgatory chasm??? Hmm sounds like the precipice of the underworld. And Dave had a great one this week too!

Wow Dave a fever with Rita. Hang in there.

Bill had a nice day out too.

Oh Sam quite the ordeal with Joanne. Hugs and good thoughts your way!

    Onward and downward all!

    Good Morning

Say Hi to Claremont for us, Bob. It is where Heather grew up and her parents are buried there. We spent lot of time there. Enjoy your event up at the Paleontology Museum. That campus is quite a hidden gem up in the foothills. I am glad you told me about it.

Kept busy taking care of little things yesterday that needed doing. Turned out to be a nice cool day. Another one is on tap for today. I hope we will get downtown to do some shopping since I need to get out for groceries. I tried to schedule my shots yesterday at Safeway. At the very end they asked a bunch of questions I didn't have at hand. So I will revisit that today. I will skip doing the 2 at a time approach and do Covid and then schedule flu a couple days later. I am well past due for Covid.
