@_WILDECHILD_ I have been practicing yoga since the Fall of 2022 😊 When I was at my heaviest..…just under 190 pounds....I started with Yoga! I was so heavy I really worked up a sweat without stressing my joints. I began by going to a yoga studio...and I was so inspired by how many people I met who were practicing yoga to get and stay in shape. One young pregnant woman reclaimed her figure very quickly doing yoga and had an easy delivery for example. I noticed regulars were ALL slim and strong. Three years later....thru yoga and regular walking....I've gone from Obese to Normal weight and I am now slim with straight posture and strong 💪. I now do at home yoga on you tube with Yoga With Adriene. It is seriously AMAZING what MANY HOURS of downward facing dogs, planks and warriors can do to your biceps, calves, thighs, hamstrings and waist! I have NO IDEA where my hips and bust went. 🤷♀️

HI! I've heard that Pilates is better! I had a yoga studio very close by though so I started there. They did offer yoga-lates…a hybrid of the two...but I found it only to be a nice change. There were a variety of classes such as Hatha, Yin, Power and Hot. I started with Hatha and Yin and as I got fitter, I was able to transition to Power and Hot. In addition, I started walking 20 to 30 minutes 5x a week and began changing my eating habits. I never really counted calories, just began paying attention to how I felt after eating food…the yoga helped me become more mindful. Its meditative so you begin to become subtly more aware of how food affects you, how you stand, the space around you. It became a bit painful if I wasn't walking shoulders back for example…or I'd feel sick if I ate cold cereal for breakfast....I haven't eaten it in YEARS!
After a year or so I found Yoga With Adriene on You Tube and never looked back! I do her 30 day challenges....she releases one every January 1st since 2015...and I have completed 5 twice each. 😊 I just do the best I can and complete the 30 days in 6 to 12 weeks. My favourite time to practice is the Fall...especially when it's raining. It's such a comforting exercise ☺️.
I've never met a heavy Yoga Instructor so that inspires me to continue. I remember a friend who thought yoga was "just stretching" tried it once and she complained because she was very sore. She was also quite heavy...250 pounds. Honestly, I didn't say anything but I was thinking..."If Yoga is "just stretching", then Obesity wouldn't exist. If literally everyone did yoga..but decide not to because it's just stretching...do they really think running or intense gym workouts must be better? 😐 " Start with movement..... "stretching", yoga, walking....as your body adapts to movement and improves then continue to progress! As we do in life!
Unless you can share a verified story of a baby who, shortly after taking its first three steps, miraculously entered and won a Marathon! 🤣

Current mini-goal is to fit into my "goal jeans". Right now I can button them standing up (instead of having to lay on the bed) but can't quite zip them. I'm also still tracking my weight, and I'm (as of this morning) 1.2lbs away from my goal weight, but more important to me is what/how clothes fit (and therefore what my measurements are).

there are 8 weeks till Xmas and my mini goal is to work out 4 weekday mornings & track my food accurately for a good idea of protein and fiber.
if I can accurately track my food I’ll have a better chance of improving my choices 🙂10 -
Just got my bloodwork back and have cholesterol of 220 with high LDL… Used to run marathons and endurance events so I could get away with eating basically whatever I wanted because of the amount of exercise i did. I have to change my eating habits, lose a few lbs, and stick to a good exercise routine to get them down!

I lost the motivation last week, too many distraction, guests, OMG, I was happy to survive.
Now my main goal is to come back to a minimum 10 days entering my foods and weight. Start today at day 1.
